I wish people would quote the twitter comment that goes with these shots. That is the Vibrant filter.

New SimCity in game videos
F2CMaDMaXX replied to guitarmatt99's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
The silent vids are from Ocean, the game has a record video option built in. They will have sound, they're working on that right now. -
Bought, greenman gaming has a 25% off code to use, $45

The SS is of low wealth high density buildings, it was a high populace city by one of the dev team, it's ~750,000 population.

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks

That's interesting, it's not fun, nor a game. -
SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks

Right, and specifically into actual simulation, nothing to do with a game, people go to work each day to study that. -
SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
F2CMaDMaXX replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Why would you leave the speed limits to the users? why would anyone not set them to the highest.... -
Then your guestimate is clearly off, they're already known to be the same size as the medium cities. You don't travel on the roads between cities, why do you care if they haven't bulldozed a road between them?

Correct.

Guillame has said it has many modules and can get pretty large.

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
F2CMaDMaXX replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Gah. Name them, honestly, the infrastructure to have subways in cities is huge, it's not the norm. Look up 'normal' - seriously. I'm not defending the removal, but i do remember them being the end game and completely breaking the game mechanics in SC2k. -
SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
F2CMaDMaXX replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Putting something in a game that's a niche thing in real life, doesn't constitute a necessity everywhere. Some pioneering ideas in some parts of the world are great, but despite what everyone thinks is going on, there are still a crap load more citys without subways than those with. You can't argue that. Also, this is a game, i'd like to see subways if they didn't make it an end game/hack like SC2k. -

I fear you're crossing terms and assuming for your own purposes here. I'm talking about actual citys. They do not normally have subways. Farms are not in citys, do you see where this is going? -
Hmm, nothing has been hinted at so far as the time frame, though i'd imagine fairly soon into the new year. They have said there will be another one, just not when.

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
F2CMaDMaXX replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Population is into the hundreds of thousands, depending on the density and RCI used. MOST citys don't have subways. -
Remember, the street shot is at a very low sun level, it changes the colours of things. One thing that's never been in SC before, is the sun level and colour of the light, that's not something you can objectively judge from screenshots unless you've played the game. No one knows what to expect, nor knows the time of day and how that affects things.

Random Thoughts about the new SimCity 2013
F2CMaDMaXX replied to simmerboy's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Hmm, seems i wasn't quite right. It was 3D, but not really, pretty much as you said, it's 3D terrain and they did use pollys for larger buildings and vehicles, nothing fancy though and the locked camera along with sprites made up the rest of it. It certainly didn't have volumetric lighting -
Random Thoughts about the new SimCity 2013
F2CMaDMaXX replied to simmerboy's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
What he said, but yes, i'm looking forward to this new release as well, plenty of good things coming PS, SC4 was not 3D -
I wouldn't hang about for the 'non origin' version, it's not gonna happen. It's tied into the system, like steam games are.

Information from the Reddit
F2CMaDMaXX replied to Skyrunner27's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I don't think there is anything damning in there, but it's very nice to see the updates from the two releases, I like looking through changelogs for some reason. Still, nice to know about certain things You mind sending me such information? I have scouring the internet for such info but to only fail Erm, keep reading the thread, it's all here, including a working link for Reddit too! -
You gus understand the concept of a beta test, right? We're not their beta testers, God no! could you imagine?! Whilst there would undoubtedly be some good reports, the rest would be a farce. They can and will only use the public beta testing for specifically selected portions of the game only. They cannot load test like the community can, so that will likely be the main testing portion. It also doesn't seem to matter how much they're told, the community will always whine about *everything* even in a beta, so they need to 'finish' the game before we get our grubby mits on it.

Bubbles are referring to no contact with the outside world, or the rest of the world, not that they don't touch each other. You know, go back in time a little bit, and we had gaps like this between cities, we still haven't completely covered the surface of the planet you know

So, was no one happy with SC4 unless you played the largest tile?

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
F2CMaDMaXX replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
One thing i like about the new SC is the fact they realised that traffic comes from other towns too, i mean, i drive to other towns i don't live in a lot, so i contribute to their traffic problems... Also, who honestly looks at the picture and thinks it's the whole town!?!? -
They already answered that, couple of hundred thousand for a single city.
