MAC USERS!!!!
Why do people use these .exe's? Perhaps they are simply PC-fanatics, or maybe they want to save a fraction of a MB over .zip, or they think (accurately perhaps) that downloaders can't copy and paste a file to the Documents/SC4/Plugins folder.
Whatever the reason, an .exe formatted file should not deter you! Here's what to do...
Plan A -- get Bootcamp setup or a virtual workspace going on your Mac, to run Windows. You should do this for so many reasons. Then, switch to Windows, run the .exe, and the files are ready. Drop them in the plugins folder and away you go.
Plan B -- use FileJuicer, which can rummage through an .exe to find any image files. I haven't tried this program myself, but it might work.
Plan C -- StuffIt Expander has been known to open up .exe files on any platform. Again, I haven't actually tried this, since I'm a Plan A kinda guy. Zipeg wouldn't do it for me.
Plan D -- send the download link to a friend with Windows (because many e-mail clients, such as g-mail, don't allow you to attach .exe files for security reasons). Have your friend download the .exe file, run it, and e-mail you the resulting files. This plan kinda sucks, but it'll work.
Just as beer has food value but food has no beer value, so too do Macs have PC value, but PCs have no Mac value. Take that Mac-haters.
