Fantastic CJ! I would've at first said, like someone else, that the spidery patchwork of trees wasn't my favorite thing, but you changed my mind. Then I started looking at aerial photos of where I live - North Carolina - and heck, it looks exactly like that! Farm fields on hills and flats with strips of trees all around the rivers and streams. Of course, it's easier to build where the land is already cleared when it starts to develop. And props to the Green Deprans who are preserving the trees left in their land. Makes sense now, and the way you've done it is absolutely beautiful. Good work!

Awesome thread, awesome networks. I'm sure the info is available elsewhere on the site, and I did search...but to no avail. I just have two burning questions I'd love to have answered... 1. Where can we download the Rural Highways mod? Edit: Nevermind. I found it! 2. How do you build a highway offramp that goes straight forward onto a road/street (without having the road/street continue on back in the other direction, like ramps used to be in SC300 and often are in real life)? I've seen several of these accomplished in the screenshots but can't for the life of me figure out how myself! Thanks for the great pics. If I can figure these things out, I might post some pics of my own! -
I'm having a similar problem, it just started happening tonight in one of my cities (only one out of the region). In fact I just hopped on here to see if anyone else had seen the same thing - it's extremely frustrating! What's happening is the power funding at my power plants is dropping every month on its own. It happens at every power plant, every differnt type, and also at the main funding slider in the budget. I can crank it all the way up, put the game on fast, and then bring up the funding box - and watch it slide down every month on its own! What the heck? Is this one of the downloaded buildings causing this? It's not a transmission problem, but a generating problem...Arrrgh!!!

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
mtbikewnc replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
I like the direction this project is taking. I like the textures just as they were in the last post. Maybe I should wait until I have some screenshots, but I have been using the one-way roads like rural highways (or 4 lane limited access highways)in my cities ever since Rush Hour was released. I leave one tile in between for realism. Ever since I got the NAM, I create an overpass (love the OnSlope puzzle pieces - overpasses around here, North Carolina USA, always have embankments instead of pylons) and make a Diamond interchange with one-way roads. Works great, but doesn't look too great. I think the option of having both at-grade intersections or grade-separated interchanges with on/off ramps with this new network would be best, to be able to customize the capacity & ruralness of the route. Around here, grade-separated interchanges in town fade into at-grade (scary) intersections as the highway becomes more rural. Usually the highway becomes two-lane as it gets even farther from cities. (And I know in the western US, certain driveway connections into remote ranches and such ARE allowed onto the interstates, but this is quite rare). Excellent work, and I can't wait until it comes out. Wish I had the skills to contribute!- 3,919 Replies

I love the underbridge scenery! Blank terrain under the on-slope puzzle pieces bugs me, so this would be nice. I would definitely download it. Good job!

I like your roundabouts! Question: in the last image, what is the path looking thing that runs up to the pedestrian bridge? It looks like the little one-lane road on the Country Club.... -
This is my first post to Simtropolis. I've been lurking through the CJ's and this one is by FAR the best I've seen. Can't wait to see it grow! I personally love the realistic slope mod, and never exceed the 2% rail grade, even if that means looping my tracks back and forth to make a bridge or hill
