  1. Thanks to Eddiem, Equinox, Craigsters, and all the others who have helped me out and helped introduce Japanese lots to everyone here. Special thanks to all the Japanese BAT creators. Happy holidays to everyone! Just a minor correction, but Somy lists his latest BAT as a high school in English, but in the Japanese he writes that it is a girl's high school, a sort of school where old ideals of women's education were put into practice. This lot, just like the elementary school before it, is based on old (in this case, Taisho era) architecture, and on the old educational system in Japan. You can read a little about the type of school he recreated here in English, at the website of the Japanese Ministry of Science, Culture, and Education. Eddiem's description of prefectures is good. You can find more info here at Wikipedia. Kaminko created a hot air balloon. Download it here . Kaminko was even nice enough to release the model for the balloon so those of you who know how to edit it can apply your own textures to it! Get the model here .
  2. A new lot by Somy: a rural mountain elementary school from the early Showa era. It is 3x4, does the same job as the elementary school, but is 30% cheaper. Get it here .
  3. Big thanks to Eddiem for covering for me while I've been busy with Real Life. I will try to post more often in the future.
  4. Date:12/12/2004 7:52:25 AM Author:z0rg I don't find these too https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Iin1.jpg https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Iin3.jpg I want them! quote> I already answered this. The page where they were available is no longer up. Dareka has created a large dish antenna, but even he's not sure what it's for. Maybe it's to communicate with the space station he made. He says he thinks it doesn't emit mind-control signals, so don't worry for your Sims. Download here (it is a GCA archive - free tools are here ).
  5. New BAT: Tower of the Sky by Bikutorii. Download here . EDIT: Sorry for posting the wrong link. Even I have bad days.
  6. PEG Pond Kit II v205

    Very nice, Peg.
  7. Date:12/5/2004 10:22:13 PM Author:poiuy1208 I really like the buildings in kei's BAT square. Do you know whats going on with them? (tried to translate it, but didn't make any sense.)quote> I think you can see a table on his first page. Here is a simplified version, with just the lot names and the most important items in red translated (the rest is really technical anyway). market street lot - rethinking whether to host for download Life supermarket - not available for download shrine - available for download (Japanese version) Royal Host family restaurant - not available for download Mizuho Bank - not available for download various commercial buildings - not available for download Japanese apartments - 60% finished So basically Kei has decided not to distribute most of his lots anymore. Here is an Egyptian obelisk landmark by Nekomimi. He has prepared a 1 x 1, 2 x 2, and prop version, but there are some problems. The 2 x 2 version sometimes shows up as a Sim City 4 box for no apparent reason, and at zoom level 2 one side of the obelisk may disappear. Get it here .
  8. Fairlane500, here are a few Japanese naval BATs. drool66, sorry, but I don't know of anywhere else to get those lots, and I don't have them. New BATs. First, a new oil power plant by Nekomimi. The output is 10550 MW, it is 8800 to plop, and 620 to maintain. It is 6 x 7 tiles in size. The creator warns using this lot is a little like cheating because it gives off almost no pollution. Download here . Next, we have the Twin Tower Station, a passenger station by Bikutorii. He redid this old BAT skyscraper so that it is transit-enabled and functions as a station. Get it here . Finally, here is a BAT replica of the Tokyo University Yasuda Lecture Hall, by Ragutaro. The lot is based on a private college, which I assume means it functions as one too. It costs 10,000 to plop, 1,200 to maintain, supports 14,000 students, and is 5 by 6 in size. You need these props to use the lot. Download the lot here .
  9. The Millennium Tower by Dareka

Equinox, maybe it was on NOB's page? He made a few train stations with bus stops.
  10. Date:11/24/2004 9:33:08 AM Author:Simbourgeois Can anybody explain me how does the Kameyama Wind Power Generator works? (in reality, I mean) I cannot understand from which direction wind should blow But the design is perfect, indeed. quote> I checked it out on the web, and it seems that NOB made a mistake in his description. It's an old hydroelectric power plant, not a wind power plant. It is now a museum. Perhaps NOB wants to change it to a wind power plant in Sim City 4. Here's an article about it in English and in Japanese . The article focuses on the fact that it is a brick structure, but it mentions specifically that it was a hydroelectric plant. NOB has also created some nice tree lots to line your avenues with, and the trees change with the seasons. Judging from the Mar. - Apr. color, it appears the trees he modeled are cherry trees. Download here .
  11. The Millennium Tower by Dareka

I uploaded a fixed version. Thanks to Equinox, it should work in the game now.
  12. Date:11/24/2004 2:37:06 AM Author:Equinox Hey, I'm glad I checked this thread! lol You can use the version of the tower I have on my website, if you'd like ... I'm not at my house right now so it's really all I have to offer, but the lot is transit-enabled, there is a custom query, and it does show up in the game menus. I believe it should be in the folder http://spartan117.simvision.net/Downloads/SimCity4/ quote> Great! I will replace the one on the STEX with yours.
  13. I uploaded Dareka's Millennium Tower to the STEX, but many people are complaining that it won't show up in the game. Blame Darkmatter, not me! All I did was open DatGen and change the text in Japanese (in the exemplars or whatever) to English, then save. That's it. I have no clue why it doesn't work. If someone (Equinox?) can mod it so the text is in English, PM me with a mail address that will accept big files, and I will send you the Japanese original file.
  14. The Millennium Tower by Dareka

I don't know how to mod anything. All I did was open DatGen, change the lot titles in the exemplars to English and save it. If it doesn't show up in the game, I don't know how to fix it. I have the Japanese version. If anyone can mod it to English, PM me.
  15. The Millennium Tower by Dareka is now available on the STEX. Go here . Another BAT by NOB - this one is the Kameyama Wind Power Generator. Get it here . Kaku has created a swimming stadium. It is 7000 to place and 200 to maintain. Get it here at his Yahoo Briefcase. There are two other BATs in the Briefcase. The first is a Japanese-style passenger ship, the Oedomaru. The last one is some kind of robot, but you can read that for yourself.
  16. The Millennium Tower by Dareka

    Version 1.0

    9,325 Downloads

The Millennium Tower is a 151 floor 651 m (with antenna it's 856 m) landmark made by the Japanese BAT creator Dareka. I have received many requests for this building since it became unavailable at the creator's site. I have his permission to upload this building. Thanks to Equinox for modding an English version which will work in the game. Dareka's web site is here.
  17. I am twiddling my thumbs waiting for the Simtropolis EXchange to reopen, because I have just received permission from Dareka to upload the Millennium Tower.
  18. As I promised, Japanese BAT time is here. First, this Japanese public bathhouse from Hayate. It is a CS$$ stage 4 growable with 15 jobs. Get it here . Mayor Haraguro has created a small clinic with an apparently UDI-compatible helicopter. No other info was given. Get it here . 211naoya has created a central train station lot with bus service and a department store, as is common with large passenger rail stations in Japan. Get it here . The yellow cafe that Eddiem introduced to us is an omelet restaurant, according to its creator, Daiku. That's all for now. I will be sure to post again when I discover something new.
  19. Date:11/17/2004 4:04:47 PM Author:eddiem Thanks superstar. Just doing what I can to help. Eddie quote> Thanks, Eddiem, for helping everyone out. I also appreciate your help. I will be making a new post with more lots in a few more hours. Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Real Life™ had me preoccupied. If anyone is having trouble with lot dependencies, first check this thread. I know it's long, but I made a conscious effort to note when the BAT author said another download was necessary. If I didn't say anything in the thread, then let me know exactly what file you are talking about and what page you downloaded it from (URL please) and I will check if any dependencies are mentioned. As for the Japanese word used, there are a number of ways I've seen authors remark about this. I don't think they use a set term like dependency as we do in English here at Simtropolis, but instead they often just say lot X is needed.
  20. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and awarded! I am flabberghasted that I was nominated for Helpful Member Overall, Active and Useful Poster, and even Most Aesthetically Pleasing Creations, although I have never created even a single lot or BAT! I am very honored to recieve the award for Official Japanese Liaison. Thanks to everyone who nominated and voted for me, and thanks to everyone who visits the Massively Gigantic Japanese BAT Gallery thread. Thanks also to Dirk and the moderators for keeping this site in top shape. I also give special thanks to all the Japanese BAT creators, without whom I would have nothing to talk about. With over 83,765 views, I think the Japanese BAT Gallery is the second most viewed topic in Simtropolis [thanks, Timotheus4]. I will continue to introduce the work of Japanese SC4 enthusiasts for as long as they continue creating. It is very satisfying to be able to do something that so many people can enjoy.
  21. Date:11/11/2004 11:54:51 PM Author:eddiem No. Raika made it. He says on his site that it looks rough because it only took 2 hours. Armandeus could maybe check the translation. Cheers. Eddie.quote> That's right. He says it took him only two hours from first imagining the building to putting the finishing touches on it in the Lot Editor. Obi: Hello armandeus, I have seen in your links beofre a mod that turns the ground underneeth the rail tracks into green grass, but I can't find it anymore, I mean the first time I saw it it was just a picture and not a downloadable mod, do you know if it has come out as a mod yet? if yes can you tell me where I could down load it? Hmm. I can't remember such a mod. Can you give me any more information? Remember, not all of the Japanese BAT pages are still up - many have closed. The only one I can think of that is even close to that is a texture on NOB's site here . Thanks for the Trixie Award nominations and award for Japanese Liaison!
  22. Date:11/8/2004 3:28:05 AM Author:Equinox Hey, Armandeus, do you have any idea if SOMY is gonna do anything with the GMAX model screenshots he has near the top of his homepage? That crane is freaking awesome. The new angel status landmark is absolutely incredible as well. Fantastic job.quote> The text right below the picture says work in progress, so hold your horses, will you?! (Just kidding about the last part.) EDIT: Signature reposted (until Our Fearless Dirktator deletes it again...).
  23. The Millennium Tower is no longer available at Dareka's site, and I do not know of anywhere else to get it. I don't have it. Perhaps someone who downloaded it can PM those who want it and send it to them. Thanks to Sepsis for introducing the new Somy BAT. Here's a bunch more stuff: 1. Raika has created a stage 8 skyscraper he calls the Kirishima Iolite Spire. It offers 1688 C$$$ jobs. Get it here . 2. Dareka has created some experimental diagonal bridges. There are still problems (UDI works sporadically, commute lines will trace through the diagonal bridge only if there is an alternate path through a default SC4 transit network). Download the teibousetto1 CAB file from this page . (Yes, Dareka's Yahoo Briefcase is functional. If you can't see it, wait and try again.) 3. Daiku has created a ploppable snow shed for roads near mountains. I can't find a description. Here is the file. 4. Ragutaro has recreated Kumamoto Castle for SC4. It's 11 x 10, 120,000 to plop, 450 to maintain, 68,000 to remove, 670 to maintain. Download here . You also need these props . 5. NOB has recreated the Hiroshima West Fire Station. It acts as an additional fire station. Get it here . 6. Take a look here and here for some new trains by NOB. 7. S.K has created an office building called Office Furan. It's a landmark costing 10,000 to plop, 150 to maintain, and 200 to bulldoze. Get it here .
  24. Three more lots, all stations. Two passenger rail stations by NOB. First, Kaitaichi Station (needs Kabe Station for props). Download here . Next, Akiimuro Station (requires Kabe Station and Ragutaro's Inuyama Castle for props) Download here . Finally, an el-train station by Rougetsu that also has bus, parking, and subway service. Download here . EDIT: link to last BAT fixed
  25. Here are some new lots for you. First, Dareka, our skyscraper specialist, has made two new skyscrapers. The first is 60 stories and is a landmark with CO$$$ jobs. The picture is here . There is a smaller building which is also a landmark but has CO$$ jobs. View it here . Download the two buildings from his Yahoo Briefcase here . Both are Windows CAB archives. Look for st60 and st2. Next, Daiku has created a new growable stage 4 R$$$ 2 x 2 house. Download it here . NOB has created a small fishing boat rental that he named Kawata. It serves as a park. Get it here . Finally, N na Keikaku has created an eye-candy version of electric lines for train tracks. They are transit-enabled, but you have to alternate this lot with the regular train track network tile in order for it to function. In other words, you place this lot, then drag a train track, place another lot, drag, place, drag, and so on. He says he is going to work on making curves. Download here .
