  1. strange beginning of city-any suggestions?

Quite so, if a neighboring or nearby city is fully developed then any new city will fastly develop as well; although I've never seen one immediately grow sky scrapers.
  2. MTP is great, also check out the SPAM collection for agricultural stuff which Anonymoose already mentioned. There is also tons of agricultural stuff from the lex which I've used as well. you can find them here if you search agriculture sc4devotion.com/
  3. Show us your Railroads!

The freight station and storage lot in the middle of North Havorbrook's industrial district. I used a lot of props for seaports with this one, I think the cranes look especially nice and add a realistic touch. The entrance to the station is the most conjested part of my city. I really should put another gate in.
  4. Show Us Your Suburbs

More to come! This medium sized city is growing at a reasonable pace so it's time to start doing some work on the details.
  5. Same here. On a clear day you can see Seattle from Mount Constance, too.
  6. High crime and airports

    Thanks, I'll look into that.
  7. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

Gonna come back later and do some touch ups on this pond.
  8. High crime and airports

I've been playing Sim City for years and I've always had trouble with high crime rates coming directly in from the airport and whatever mass transit I have adjacent to it. So my question is, what's the best method to stop crime at the airport? Not that I'm too fond of T.S.A. but this is a simulation after all
  9. must have mods

I know over at the LEX there are graphics mods which completely replace the original Maxis files; I haven't used any myself though. There are some pretty cool water replacement mods and stuff as well, including ploppable water and intricate canal systems.
  10. must have mods

SPAM and NAM are both essential. I believe there is a passage in the Omnibus with must haves? _edit_ Here it is.
  11. Show us your Seaport!

I'm not sure I like the town layout as a whole, though. It was an experiment mixing suburbs, farms, thick industrial parks and two dense business districts. Once the city hit about 10,000 in population there was a huge police strike, which remains unsolved despite plenty of funds.
  12. Garbage doesn't go by rail.

http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=2724 There are these lots over at the Lex. If you make a rail directly from one station to the other with no stops in between(of course with a city you've made a deal with) it becomes very efficient. Personally I just have it for eye candy as I have another lot which disposes of all garbage with no pollution/ lowered rating.
  13. Medical Nightmare

Actually for that you need ILives Reader or a similar program. The Lot Editor is used to edit the lot only. Aye, that's the one. They're both right next to each other on my desktop.
  14. Medical Nightmare

You could also use Lot Editor to manually change how much capacity your hospitals have whether it be the number of doctors, patients and range. Same goes for all civic buildings.
