  1. NAM General Discussion Thread

Ok, Lurker here. Thanks so much for all your hard work with the NAM, to all involved! I've been enjoying it throughly for a long time now. Reciently, SC4 has gone crazy so I purged my plugin folders and am re-installing the NAM. How do I add a different "Traffic_Plugin" file with the new installer (Specifically the 10XCommute file)? It seems to install only the default plug-ins, based on what's selected in the installer. Thanks for your help!
  2. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey everybody. You most likely don't remember me, but I've been here since pretty much forever, but I rarely posted. SimCity 4 continues to hold my intrest, so instead of lurking, I've desided to start being a real member. So Here I am! Looking forward to being a real part of the community.
  3. Sculpting Columbia River

Wow. What ground textures are you using? They look phenominal! I tried to find them, but to no avail. Can you hook me up?
  4. Sculpting Columbia River

Wow! That latest update is amazing! Truly amazing. This CJ has given me alot of inspriration. Great pictures - alot of fun to look at. Keep it up!
  5. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

Well, as promised, I've uploaded (off-site) my best transportation networks. They're not all that extravagant, as my largest city has only about 50K population. But I've found them rather effective! This first one is my latest Nesessity is the mother of invention intersection. Basicly, the 2 avenues you see came from the north and east, and 2 EL Highways came from the South and West. The highways deteriorated into avenues, creating a 4-way Ave. intersection. That got very crowded as that essentialy was the central hub of commuting. After clearing out some room, the cloverleaf would not line-up with the highway and ave. Thus, the Interstate Corridor was devised. It takes about 3200 commuters every day, and 2700 commuters every evening, and congestion is in the green. The avenue you see there is the primary route for the residents of the med-rise condos in the area to commute. With so many feeder streets and Roads, no alternate route nearby, the ave. got crowded, especialy in the intersections. Because of all the buildings in the area, and frequient side-street intersections, it would not pe practical to upgrade to a highway. My original plan was to add some subway stops, but that wasn't cool. The EagleRail was the 'cooler' reasult, inspired by Denver's new T-REX (T-Rail EXpress) EL-Train system, designed to releve traffic on the I-25 South Corridor. None of these are all that impressive, but they'll give you something to look at. Merry Christmas everyone.
  6. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

First post here at SimTropolis. This is a great thread you have going here! Helped inspire some things I'll be using in my cities, eventualy. There were some very cool screenshots and Ideas here. I'll add my own if I get any half-way cool ones.
  7. Speed Camera RHS

Cool idea! But the fact that it decreases capacity seems somwhat un-realistic. Since it forces cars to slow down somewhat, it might be better if this BAT increased the commute time very slightly. But that would inturn also lower capacity a little bit, too. Interesting idea, though. Downloaded!
  8. McDonalds v1

Not bad at all. Not quite as good as your KFC/A&W bldg, but it's good. Very very good!
  9. KFC Multibrand Store

Oh. My. Stinking. Face. This thing looks exactly like the one I often eat at! Assuming that it grows... you get a 9, maybe 10! This is a very accurate bldg. And it's nice to know that there's an ADT security system installed there, apparently. HA!
