If you could go back and doit again,,,would you still buy SimCity 5?
matthewcornish replied to parenzo's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Mmmh, wouldn't buy the special deluxe edition at any rate... -
From my experience, when you gift to another city you have to wait for the other city to: collect the money from your town hall return to their city then your game will say "gift received by other city" And then when you load your other city you have to wait for the money truck to return to your city for the money to be delivered to your town hall then your game will say "gift received" ...which means when I have done this it can sometimes take ages for money to move from city to city... especially when there is heavy traffic between cities in the region. Best way to watch this process is to stay in the region view. You'll soon see the interaction (with the gifting panel open) between the two cities. I wish it was "instant". Not sure why Sims don't have bank accounts with a transfer facility. Sending money in a truck seems... old fashioned?

European Building Packs - What's the deal?
matthewcornish replied to Deed_Poll's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
What upsets me is that rather than "turning on" a UK, French or German theme for my city I have to get 500K simoleons and have a city hall with a tourism office before I can plop the landmark building that will eventually cause the city buildings to transform. I'm very disappointed it wasn't made clear we were paying so much extra for something we can't use without a lot of work!- 11 Replies

In "The Day After" challenge you simply need to have your garbage service collect 250 cans of garbage within 24 hours. I accepted this challenge at 3AM and by 1PM my garbage trucks collected 686 cans of garbage; having collected none yet that day. Awesome! But no... the mission doesn't believe I've collected 250 yet. Is anyone else seeing a problem like this?

Irritating way to upgrade the roads
matthewcornish replied to Board_Marshal's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I have the opposite problem - I want to be able to upgrade / downgrade multiple sections of road at once. If you have a big gridded city it takes a while going around clicking all those little stretches of road upgrading them all -
SimCity's AI, a big problem

I'm getting a little fed up with the way vehicles are handling path finding. For example this fire engine: And this ambulance, which having picked up an injured sim couldn't work it's way back to the neighbouring city it came from:
