Great start, love the mountains, I guess the suburbs are realistic enough as most folk in US cities drive to work.

More of Downtown A recent archive aerial shot of Sao Paulo has come to light so I thought I'd show it, with a few more pictures of Downtown. Sao Paulo Downtown 50 years ago Ah, 50 years ago, the city was much smaller, but as you can see from the following aerial shot, how things have changed. Sao Paulo Panorama today My how the city has spread ! West Park West Park is one of the city's favourite parks, just a stone's throw from the bustling centre. Close up Downtown Looking right into the heart of Downtown, Paulo Boulevard is home to most of the government, the city hall(s), the Mayor's House(s), also the Stock Market has it's home here.

Suburbs There's more to Sao Paulo than just downtown, it's about time I showed you some of the outlying regions..... North Sao Paulo A good aerial shot of North Sao Paulo, with it's suburban sprawl. In the middle left you can see Lagosh Newtown, a high rise housing estate, above Lagosh is a huge Industrial park, and just sneaking in the edge of the picture, the airport. South East Sao Paulo I really like this region, South East Sao Paulo's main feature is the resort town of Cespo, on the West bank of Cespo Lake. Cespo is a popular destination for Sao Paulistas who enjoy a bit of watersports, lazing on the beach or losing all their money in the Casino. The hills and woodland to the East of the lake are also popular for walkers (and the odd hunter). South Sao Paulo South Sao Paulo saw massive development which was initialised by the relocation of Coca-Cola (you can see the building in the middle of the picture).

Hi, inbetween nappy changes, time for a few more pictures. The Past As a recently discovered archive picture shows, the centre of the city hasn't always been quite so High - Rise. The city centre 50 years ago, notice the now demolished Coca-Cola building. So where's the Cathedral then? Uh, here, on the south bank of the river, next to the SouthBank Opera House. The Cathedral sits in a prime position right next to the river. And this wider view shows the Cathedral inbetween the two main River bridges, you can also clearly see the heart of NorthBank. What about a University? Glad you asked. Here is the University District combining a wealth of cultural and educative institutions for the population.

The night time shot was a Region Census view image, cropped then colour reduced to two colours (black & white) & a tiny teensy bit of retouching.

Sorted, added a key to the streetmap
