  1. Big Bertha, British Columbia

Hey folks! Just dropped by to say that I'm going with PINK! Shall be interesting to start building... But I'm on a little break from Simtropolis and SC4. (Sometimes it's good to have a little break) Not to worry, I'll be back with an update sooner or later.
  2. Big Bertha, British Columbia

Aren't you on vacation? Well yes, but I had to come back for a few days, long story... I'm leaving tomorrow again! So, I have time for a short update (noooo, not bumping my thread......) to let you decide where to build next. I can't decide. I know I want to build a larger city with suburbs spreading across the flat landscape. (When I say large I think something between 10,000 and 20,000 that's large to me!) So pink or purple??? Thank you all for the nice comments!! AK: I've tried the diagonal streets mod but it doesn't work good with my street texture mod, but I do use the ANT diagonal street mod. I might try the dia. mod in the next city. Have to check your cj for inspiration!
  3. Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoyas melting-pot.

Great work with the diagonal streets. I like the shape of lake, looks very realistic. Your rural area is great! Can I suggest that you don't use the street mod (What do you call it?) The Maxis streets work better with your diagonal streets. Looking forward to see more.
  4. Conquest of the Red Planet: an Official SimMars CJ

Looking very good! I'm really getting the mars feeling. Love the small white astronauts!
  5. New Amsterdam - Capital of Simland

Wow, it's huge! Great parks and cemetary. Just the size of it all... Great!
  6. Mazi

    Very cool!
  7. Greater Marsalia Region, City at the Mediterranean

Hey Mika, long time since my last visit. The recent pics looks great! I like the way you used the ped mall tile thing at Le Gare Central. Is there a Lidl bat? Wow! I got Lidl in my town. Is Lidl french??
  8. Palm Air Islands

Feels very tropical! Interesting to see how it develops. Eminem got an island? Would that be the Shady Island then... Keep it up!
  9. Big Bertha, British Columbia

Finally time for a big update! I'm going on vacation so it will be a big one. In this update we're starting at the train station and then going north along the main road. Hopefully you won't get lost... =) This is the town of Bakerville Large picture here. This is the new area I've been working on. You've seen a couple of preview pics, this is the final result: Zooming in... More industries have started up in Bakerville. Too bad it's mostly dirty. The local elementary school. Education is poor in Bakerville. Hopefully it will improve. Just a closer look. Got some nice commercial buildings near the train station. We head east, to the right of the train station, to visit a nice farm. Continuing north along the main road. The nice pond. I like the bridge and who said water flora needs to be in the water! A picture I named dip because of the dip... Another beautiful farm, with a small pond. As we follow the main road we see a sugar mill on our left. And a rum factory... A residential area. A closer look at the backyard. Try counting how many different BAT's used... Guess what? We're still heading north, just passing the private school and a schurch. Just a street crossing. These last 3 pics could have been a mosaic I guess, getting lazy... Before we go ove rthe bridge to downtown Bakerville, we stop at Captin Jack's seafood, arrrrgh! I'll have to lobster please. And where back in old Bakerville. More residential areas have developed. Remember the gif animation, lot's of fine houses have been built there. Minigolf! The roundabout have become less interesting. More farms are spreading across the landscape. More rum! This one hidden in the forrest. Here's where a new residential area is being built. (When I get back from vacation) A last pic for all you viewers who love GREEN! Hope you enjoyed the update. See you in a couple of weeks!
  10. Under Bridge Scenery

I just wanted to cheer you on, great stuff!! And it is much needed! Btw, you're industrial area looks fantastic! Keep it up!
  11. Big Bertha, British Columbia

I'm busy planting trees in Bakerville so I'm not ready with a big update yet. But I will have an update ready before I go on holiday. So for now, I need some help, to keep or not to keep. Two BAT's that I'm not sure of. Always nice with shops in the residential area but they grow everywhere. They also seem a bit out of place. Should they go? I like these houses, The Berwick, but sometimes I think they look too big and out of scale. Keep 'em? Comments Nardo69: Thanks! I love the Ll... station too. And about summer, it never get's cold in my apartment, but yes, frozen fingers are worse! =) Darmok: Thank you! I'm going roundabout crazy btw. They're just great to use. Simguyuk: Thank you, cool that you like it. Crazy-ass effects? I just use The Gimp, it's free, just search download.com or something like that. I change contrast and brightness pretty much, and a sharpen filter. MrCinatit: Nice to see you unlurking. Thanks for the comments, I really try to spread things out, because I suck at building big cities... Shadow_Assassin: Thanks! I checked the pictures, they should work... Maybe Imageshack had some problems...
  12. Copacorales

No cheats? That's great! The Somy Antenna power station is quite expensive so I guess your budget is great! =)
  13. Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal

Great stuff! Nice to see a new cj from you. Looks very good with the canals. Keep it up.
  14. Big Bertha, British Columbia

Under construction in Bakerville I'm building a new area in Bakerville. It's going pretty slow because it's so warm in my flat, too hot to play SC4... Stupid summer! We're south west of town, over the bridge. More farms, nice little pond, needs to be less square-ish. The rail station, trying out a new thing with round a bouts and farm enterances. Comments dhoppeii: Nice to see you post so often here. Cool that you liked the industrial, alleys work great. The industrial area will grow a bit for a more realistic feel. mike_oxlong: Thanks! I really like to play the game with small towns, no skyscrapers here... Darmok: Thank you for the comment! More industrial will come. Kwakelaar: Thanks! I'm trying some new stuff in The Gimp, glad you like the pictures. jacqulina: Thank you jacqulina for the many comments! franky_83: Nice to see a BC resident. Big Bertha was just something stupid I made up to make a nice title. But Fairmont was based on the town Fernie, well just some names... MasterPlanMan: Thank you! I'm really trying to achive the relaxing layout. Great that you like it.
  15. Sycamore Valley

Very beautiful region! Looks fantastic. Good job plopping all those Peg Ponds! And great town layout with perfect residential area. I'll try to keep an eye on this one. =)
  16. Walldoff Apartments

Yeah, don't listen to the noobs, this is very, very beautiful! I just love the design of the building! Perfect R
  17. Big Bertha, British Columbia

Industrial, Bakerville Simple road layout around rail line. SG Auto factory at the left. Added NDEX parking, a little park and fillers. A closer look at NDEX parking, the Peg industrial alley and Peg parking lots from the scenic drive kit (I think) Comments Nardo69: Thanks! I like the pine tree too. Darmok: Thank you! The trail lot is not something I made, but I don't remember what it's called... There are actually two versions on the STEX, but you can only plant trees on one of them.
  18. New Picture Rule Proposel

I think there should be a limit of 600px in width but no limit in height. Yes, no limit. Making mosaic picture would be much easier, the loading time of the page would be the same. Sig pictures are just fine in 300x50.
  19. Greater Marsalia Region, City at the Mediterranean

Where are you getting those buildings from!? I keep seeing stuff I've never seen before, and they're really cool! Just awesome rail layout!
  20. Region of Sarconia

That's a great BAT. I like the little gazeebo on the island.
  21. Lindaraja

Looks amazing! The diagonal streets fit in perfect.
  22. Big Bertha, British Columbia

We're back! And I've got some changes; I'll write text like this to comment the pictures, no fancy fonts... Just to make things a bit easier for me - more updates for you. I haven't played much lately, 3 pics from downtown Bakerville. A couple of 3 story buildings have been built, Bakerville keeps expanding. I guess we'll see a boom in these kind of buildings over the years. Soaring Crane Park, the perfect place for Qigong. One Tree Trail. Just to the left: great fishing spot. Comments Thank you all for visiting the cj! Great to see that so many enjoy farming pictures. cammo2003: You're really keeping track of the cj Very nice of you to post, twice... =)
  23. Above City Lake!!!! Not a LOT!

Hey, you could build some cool M.C.Escher-style cities!
  24. Greater Marsalia Region, City at the Mediterranean

Great detail as always. Really nice to get the trains too meet. But is it ok to suggest a bit of clone brush? Just to remove the yellow arrows on the rail tracks... =)
  25. Curved Highway tutorial

eyehavenomoney: Ok, you're a grid lover. Nothing wrong with that. I think this tutorial was really good and a good tutorial should be right to bump, right? It would be nice to see it in the omnibus.
