From video game to day job: How 'SimCity' inspired a generation of city planners
ManofManyCats commented on Haljackey's article in News
Yeah it is inspiring, but actually getting a job (or even an internship) in City Planning or anything related even after graduating in the field takes a miracle from GOD! One might as well have majored in Philosophy. Truth be told!- 4 Comments

I am interested in highways (I call them freeways because of the controlled access) that are USED. I have found that in order for a highway to actually have a reflective-to-reality, busy appearance, it is best to only provide three to four full interchanges per (large) city. (And since the large city pieces are only a little over three miles across, that is a realistic number.)Sorry, for I have no pictures yet--I just got a new computer with Windows 10, so I have to start all over:(. At least the game works now after getting a digital copy. Thank you Origin Help.

SimCity: Regions
ManofManyCats replied to nathanthemayor's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yes. I have one region that is 100km by 100 km, and it has 39 million right now. -
The good, the bad and the ugly*.

Hold the bus. You know that it may take developers of the new game time to "get it right." For instance, "Rush Hour" came along well after SC4 was released. -
Cool maps! I also admire how the streets are named! This is something that I have always thought of doing, but I have always been more enthralled with the rush to build the region which, at the current time, I have been working on a region that is roughly 40 miles by 40 miles. Additionally, I have noticed how, once the region surpasses 15 million, there is always traffic on the freeways (both directions) at all hours...More and more traffic as the region continues to grow. I will have to take some photos to show it all off. Yet, I play the game on a computer that is not hooked into the internet--I find the computer, the game, and the computer that is for online only all work a lot better as long as each and every memory slot is filled, for the Sim City 4 computer has well over 900 ram which I strongly suggest to all playing this game. Thank you for showing off your work!
