  1. Hello Everyone,

I have been watching Simtropolis for a lonnnnnnng time. Love this place.

Unfortunately my City Journal got corrupted and many of the images were lost along with some of the conversations. Luckily, I had backup images so I decided to redo my Journal on my own web page.

I moved my City Journal to my web page https://mtbrocket.net/far-away-and-long-ago.

Keeping Simtropolis in my heart as it got me through some difficult times. I am still visiting this community and my original journal; though I don't post.

Hi mtbrocket and welcome back to Simtropolis! *:8)

Sorry to hear about your CJ becoming lost with missing pics. Unfortunately many of the old image hosts like ImageShack deleted images for free accounts. It's cool to see you've made your own blog site with your entries. You're welcome to promote these in the CJ section linking to each entry, or even host them directly at ST whenever. We allow local image storage nowadays and so that gives assurance the pics won't suddenly disappear as external hosts can do.

In case it comes in useful, I've upgraded your account for up to 1 GB in local attachments storage.

Very cool. I like the attention to detail. The road following the river and the mix of real images with images from the game is well done. Keep up the good work.

  8. Far Away and Long Ago

Welcome to the Far Away and Long Ago City Journal The increasingly poorly named City Journal about City Journals. So I bet you are wondering what this City Journal is all about. This journal is in regard to what I see and read in Simtropolis. It is an evolving dynamic eclectic mixture of satire and musings. Halfway though, the CJ has a meltdown that lets me change its whole nature. I use photos and short stories and random clip arts to show what I think is funny about City Journals. I think I started this region around August 2004. There is still a lot of work to do as there is a lot of humor on Simtropolis. And remember you don’t have to start on page one. -Dan Picture 1.1 The first part of this journal is about the region Far Away and Long Ago where the main city is Danton. This is the classic story of a bunch of small towns that grow into a centralized city surrounded by farms and towns, each with a unique personality. The climate is dry and the vegetation is scrubby but the woods are full of deciduous trees. There is inner city life and farm life with companies like Amalgamated Agriculture. On page five just as I thought the city was fairly close to being finished the lap top died along with all my back ups. I, thus, had to cleverly conceal the mishap with a volcanic eruption. Picture 1.2 The second part of this journal is about the region Harbor of Many Moons. Considering that the city is built on a muddy river delta it is an odd name but who really cares. The climate is wet, muddy and perfect for mangroves. Vegetation grows everywhere. It is a story about a group of prideful people who are building a new society based on bureaucracy, anarchy, and silly hats.
  9. Far Away and Long Ago

All, I have two kids under three and I caught viral meningitis from a mosquito (getting better) so no updates, sorry. My advice, DO NOT GET SICK. Regards, -Dan

  13. Redmond

  14. Sterling & Lake Champlain Region

Love the mix of trees and fields. I am glad you included the power lines. I like the covered bridge. The layout is appealing with the rocks and the curvy road. It looks more like the bridge was designed to fit the landscape. More natural. I also like the stubborn landowner who had the road built around his house instead of giving up the right of way. Keep up the great work. Regards, -Dan
  15. ~Peninsule des Bois~

Sorry about the lives lost. I like the pictures of people. Great story so far. Regards, -Dan
  16. Nice mix of town and country. Not too flashy. Keep it up. Regards, -Dan

  18. New World: Part one

Nice photos. Keep up the good work. Regards, -Dan
  19. Tampa Country

Good start. I like the road across the runway, as most people would be too afraid to design an airport in that layout. Keep up the groundbreaking ideas. -Dan
