  1. Paeng's Grunge Concrete Set

This has added so much to my city's industrial areas. Thank you!
  2. I like using the Elrail on Road set that comes with the NAM base pack (don't forget to download stations for it too!), it has a kind of chicago-ish feel me beleives...
  3. Ideas for the next XL Game

No, it only changed name, not actual logos and such. I usually didn't bother naming buildings and roads, since i have so many buildings and roadsigns disappear when i change the piece of road... but i do name stations and communal buildings... Oh, and this would greatly improve CXL: - More songs in soundtrack - More buildings - More transit options - More responsive bridge/metro building system
  4. Are there subways in CXL 2011?

Remember that while the metro gan go above ground, under ground, and at ground level, you can't build level crossings and only stations underground. Finally the metro track looks edgy and unrealistic, and the building tool is unresponsive... (i'm in a ranting mood)
  5. London Underground sub surface station

just 7 downloads for this amazing thing?
  6. What Do \You Think About This Region?

Well... i think that it is too large. If you pack all the tiles full of stage 8 scrapers, then all you see is a mosaic of walls and windows... if you focus more on medium density with maybe stage 6/7 in the downtown, people will be able to see the street level much better, and the street level can look pretty good too, with all the mods out there... I also suggest that you get the NAM and it's addons, for example, you will find a more realistic highway, which i think is nearly a must in every pro's city.
  7. October Bridge

    Looks awesome. Downloading it now...
  8. A neat SC4 Easter Egg...

This doesn't look like a well-engineered road...quote> Not to even mention the huge 50 cm-gap in the road just where the tunnel begins...
  9. GLR in avenue to subway transition

Just wondering - where's that transition piece? Or do you mean Tram-A to Tram Under A?
  10. R-

Well-it's quite logical, really. A 14x14 meter lot is far too small for any wealthy/large family...
  11. Growing Cities

If you want more I-D jobs, build them in a neighbour city! I once made a region named Solrein. A medium sized city (Hometown Bay) had a very trafficed and well-connected neighbour to Cestill, my Huge I-D Blob. Now, this stimulated demand for R-S a lot, i managed to get 3 Project hopes within 10 cells! Poor residential takes much less place/inhabitant, while the biggest Hi-Wealth scrapers have around 400 in population, project hope and Simrises have 7000. Today, Hometown bay has 160,000 inhabitants, and there's still a lot of Industrial and agricultural zoning left in the Medium tile. I think i can press it up to 400,000.
  12. SimCity 4 in the Future: A Falcon Approach?

Mister Moose is correct: This is such a good idea that EA never willl make it.
  13. Just a Quick Question about roads

  14. Simcity 4 tips and Tricks

Don't underestimate standard rail. It's awesome when it comes to transporting fast, cheap, and with high capacity, but if you want many smaller stops then you should go for commuter rail. If you have downloaded the Elrail-Standard rail changer, you can have elrail or subway in your downtown and change to heavy rail further out. Often, my city goes trough a ''boost era'' aroud 150,000 inhabitants, were the high-density development really sparks off, and i usually get profits of up to 6000! Use this profit to balance, when removing all of your dirty industry, removing the pollution, and then if you think that your city is readym rezone the industrial and you should get much mor hitech and manufacturing industry.
  15. State owned industry?

Well, if you find that your plopped buildings get abandoned because of low demand, all you have to do is to use the super demand thingie. It doesn't matter anyway, plopping buildings will put the cheat-o-meter att 100% anyway...
  16. GLR/Tram question

Might just add in here: i got some problems with GLR autotomatoe dissapearing at stations. Anyone got a solution?
  17. Unlimited City Size

If there ever would be a new sim city (which probably never will come but hey, think positive! ), then i would like every city to be doubled. The city wherei live in, has around 250 000 residents, and the dense area is 12 kilometres across, that's 3 Large tiles!
  18. The largest city ever, I mean ever

My largest city is nothinh to brag about, but my densest city, however... it is called Hometown Bay. It is on a mdium tile, but half of that tile is filled up with agriculture and other industries. Another large part is water (it is a bay). On the small space left (maybe the size of a small city tile), i have 40 000 residents. Even, if a large part is middle-class or high wealth low density buildings, so just imagine how dense the ´´downtown´´ is... all i cna say is, two project hopes in a row is enough to overload 3 subway stations and one avemue at the same time Just think of a large tile filled with project hopes... one large city is around 100 tiles, right? One project hope is 4 x 4 tiles, so the map can cover 625 hopes. That is... approximately 5 million people!
  19. Renaming the same old buildings.

I often rename stations, and now i even add which line they belong to
  20. How to build tunnels

Originally posted by: LuciusNero Sounds good too. So it will work, when I build a subwayline that connects the entrance and the exit of the tunnel? quote> If you have the mod, yes.
  21. Originally posted by: SC4BOY hmmm.. I'd swear I've seen subway trains zipping around when I am in a view where they are available.. maybe I'm just remembering SC3kquote> I also saw subway trains in the underground view!
  22. A problem with NAM

Since i installed NAM, noone wants to use their cars! Does anyone know how to solve this, or else i will son fill my city with pedmalls... hey, that's actually a good idea!
  23. I got the same problems with no cars being used after i installed NAM. Edit: Oh, silly me, my problem is that everyone walks to work and is a different problem...
  24. A problem with NAM

I tried a city with pedmalls, but sadly i forgot that your citizens refuses to go to work if the entrance of their workplace or home is on a pedmall. Yes, i can see cars, but according to the diagrams and the route data thingy, noone uses the roads to drive, only pedestrians travel on them. Lugnut, do you mean as in Walk bridge or road bridge? Some of my cities have bridges, some have not. Then... some of my cities still have cars on them, just less...
  25. Running speed

A long time ago, i always played on cheetah. Now, i can't install the game, so i had to buy a new one... it's coming anytime now... i might try to run on rhino... I didn't even know that traffic jams could be caused by people going to school and that there's gnomes in the game...
