  1. lowering polygon count

so i guess its safe to assume that adding the figures last will be ok. edit: how do you select the hidden polys only?
  2. lowering polygon count

What I am wanting to do is place several figures around the base of the building, as if they were statues. Right now my buildings avereage between 20 and 30 thousand polys and they are only 1x1 tile buildings.

the lots are kind of boring huh? i dont even know if im going to release them yet, i still have to test them as growables. any suggestions on spicing up the lots would be appreciated. im trying not to use any dependencies from other batters because im still new to this and dont want to get confused as to whose props and textures im using. thanks for your reply, i was beginning to think i was my only fan.

if your interested, i think i found a water texture that doesnt tile too bad. here are some ingame images i made. the dark spots in the middle are caused by the sparkling effect, it kinda makes the water look like its moving. these are 1x1 tiles. if you're interested PM me and let me know.

  12. BAT Help - Lighting

Date: 4/18/2005 7:56:27 AM Author: GaryReggae Lightguy: There are various options such as setting up spotlights that illuminate just the text in the required colour but I've found the most effective way of doing illuminated signage is to use the 'self illuminating' value in the texture editor window, set it to 100 and anything with that texture applied will be lit up in the dark.  Obviously you will need to create a red and a green texture, both with self-illumination. The self illuminating does not work for me. EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work.
  13. i got this error message when starting up Sc4 Tool: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded what did i do wrong? EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

  24. I keep getting an error when i try to start net that says i dont have enough space, i know this to be untrue. any suggestions?
  25. the black one or the green one? the white stripe on the black one is part of the texture and can be fixed rather easily. the green one was a last minute idea to use a giger tile.
