Well I had my city going pretty well, and kept getting the advice note that it might be a good idea to make some more dense zones.. so i said what the heck lets see how it goes. I was at about 15k population with all low density zones. With low density I am making good profit and keeping eveyone happy. Once i start trying to increase density, I start having to add in the more expensive hospitals and such and then it starts to put me in the red as far as money goes.. did I move up too soon? how long do people stay low density? thanks, lafosse

yeah thanks cougar... I have been experimenting with a few different lay outs in a region to see how I want to expand. I am gonna try bigger zones on my "grided" sections of the city to try and be more efficient I think

thanks guys, one other thing I had in mind, would building the higher capacity medical and school buildings at the start be a decent option? can the funding stay low enough to afford them early on?

Hello. new around here, just started simcity 4 after picking it up due to boredum. played some of the older ones back in the day. Been digging around on here and messing with a few cities. finaly got a map I like uploaded correctly and I am about to get serious finaly with a region and see how it goes.

My issue is that the game will only load the map as a 256bit bit map file and not jpeg... which throws off the color scheme and makes the terrian not the same. is this common?
