I was just wondering, does the public transport actually get used at all? the residential areas spread a long way from the stations?
I do like the Asian buildings you're using. It's a very interesting place you've got growing here. Are we talking Korea, I suppose?
Thanks! And kind of, it is set in Korea, but if you check back to the first entry, it is still run by the Japanese, so features a more Japanese style of architecture than would otherwise be seen.

Park Hwan is now a name that people in the region are beginning to recognise, though would not excited to talk of it, or know what is there. More people have moved into the area, prompting some shops to spring up, and something of a central location to call Park Hwan is forming. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-14-47-68 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> Housing and shops are also beginning to spring up near the temple on the hill. It is a popular area for newcomers, especially those that have tried to escape rice farming. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-11-13-17 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-13-48-39 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> More wealthy citizens are moving into the town, and settling at the bottom of the temple's hill. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-19-41-84 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> In this new area traditional cobbled streets have been replaced by new asphalt. Lots of new middle class residents are coming to the town, mainly to work in the growing service industry in the small, bustling town of Park Hwan. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-28 16-33-40-92 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> That's all for today! Please tell me what you thought!

ONE TIPYCAL CITY IN SOUTH ITALY
MaskedImperial commented on the novels's City Journal Entry in From Italy to North Africa
That's a really nice looking town! One suggestion, have you thought about using some walls for your slopes? such as mas71's walls or jeronji's ones? Have a look at the links, great city though! What has happened to Simcity.cn ?
MaskedImperial replied to MaskedImperial's topic in Community Goings-on
That's upsetting Fingers crossed its the server, there was some really good stuff on that site. -
I recently downloaded some files from the Chinese simcity site, simcity.cn, and after a couple of weeks I have found I've got some dependencies missing. I go back to the site to find it doesn't seem to exist any more. Does anyone know anything about this? has it been 'censored' or is it just a server problem similar to what Simtropolis has had recently? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated
Very good, I have one suggestion though. In the places where you have trees, add more. If you want you can also add logs, stumps, rocks etc.
thanks, there will be more trees later on, but between the rice fields i couldn't plop any for some reason, idk why...

Hi everyone, this is my first CJ, despite being a member of this forum for years I haven't been particularly active, at all... Anyway, this is a log of the development of an eastern style town, named Park Hwan. Sounds like the name of a Korean person, though that is because it is in the region of Busan. It bears no parallels with the real life area, and is more of an alternate reality, where the Japanese have retained control of the Korean peninsular, and thus influenced the architecture to a much more Japanese style than a Korean one. When I started this, jagged edges wasn't working properly, so I apologise in advance. Hope you enjoy my CJ, please leave comments if you found it interesting <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-28 16-36-29-76 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> Park Hwan is not yet the name of the town, in fact, at this stage in it's development it is merely a collection of hamlets in a predominately rice farming area. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-07-43-95 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> The temple is the focal point for the community, and serves as a place of refuge in floods. The floods can be devastating to the villagers, but they are essential for the good rice crops. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-09-58-62 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> There is still no specific centre to the area, small collections of houses and shopping streets are dotted around the place. The canal in the left hand side of the picture is part of the irrigation system, which was dug by the villagers after several years of floods being short, but powerful, leaving devastation and washing away fertile land. <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-08-23-18 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> <a href=" title="SimCity 4 2011-05-27 16-07-33-62 by joel.littler, on Flickr"> Hope you enjoyed this first entry, questions and criticisms are welcome
