The RHW is great if you want more realistic interchanges and highways, but to make the most realistic interchange it take up a lot of land, as Tnhorse mentioned the RHW can be tedious, and it will take you a lot of time and patient to get what you want. I hate the RHW bridge pieces can not go diagonally cross a road it would make the T- intersection a lot easier to build. On the other hand the Maxis highway is very rigid, you can only have three lanes on each side, and it's expensive. But I still like both of them and really it depends on what you want your city to look like. If you want realistic go with the rural highway, spend that extra hour getting the turns just rights, adding hills and curvy on and off ramps.
