We DID have a jurisdiction that did, but the PM challenged it in the high court and won.. :S

I forgot it. We have several short highways, we have two of 5 km, one that's 3 km, and one that's 2 km. There's probably an even shorter one somewhere else. Also, the Netherlands has a network that's more dense (but if you take all the roads, Belgium wins - if you leave out the mini - states of the world). By highway, I don't mean a grade-separated motorway, but a motorable road called a "highway". It's still a pain in peak hour. What's the most interesting road you've driven?
-
I want to do a road trip on Highway 1. World's longest highway goes for 14,500km around all of Australia. I've already driven the world's shortest highway so I just need the other one. Where was your last holiday to?
-
4584: I am with Optus but luckily I live in Victoria! In Australia, we have 3 time zones but then we have 5 in summer. Interestingly, all of NSW is on one time zone but a single town (Broken Hill) is on another.
-
4579: HA! I think this occurred because Queensland has the same time zone as Victoria and New South Wales, but doesn't follow Daylight Savings.

Would you consider that... repetition?
ROFLyoshi replied to cromabianca's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Yes it is repetitive, but at the same time by adding in the lot fillers you have made the idea work into a sort of housing estate. Have you thought about a seawall too? -
500km straight, from Melbourne to Maryborough and back. How many states/regions of your country have you visited?
-
That's how your map will look for the first time in region view. Ignore the odd colours, click the city and load it up. It should be fine, and when you return to region view it will show your terrain mods in action.

Since this thread is repeatedly drifting off the topic and turning into a flame war, I'm locking this.

4565: I didn't get home til 2:30 in the morning after a full day of work though
-
4562: Discovered a good way to exhaust yourself, puck up your girlfriend from her mums and drive back to the city (a 450km round trip). Did this all after work and a good sleep is in order.

Poor Christchurch. It is a beautiful city I have travelled to twice, having all the big city attractions with a small town flair. I miss how the girl was and hope they can get back on their feet.

Yes it is true that posts were removed, as the staff found them to be inflammatory. We don't mind you all debating things on the Current Events board, however they need to be toned down a little sometimes. If you cannot agree to these terms, we do not force you to stay here at Simtropolis; you can refuse to patronise the website at any time.

Okay. I am just going to say this very calmly for you all as there has been a surprising amount of hate being passed around. I understand that there is the natural fear, but that needs to be overriden with logic. I want you to name every terrorist that has been in the news over the past say, 10 years. How many could you think of? 50? Perhaps you might be able to say there is another 2,000 more supporting them. Either way. That's minuscule when you compare it to the one billion Muslims in the World. I'm pretty sure we know a Muslim or two (I do through some of my brothers university friends). Surely they are good people. They are the rule, not the exception. Compdude787, firstly please understand I am definitely not trying to delegitimise your beliefs and I fully respect your religion. However I am going to just post, that I am an atheist and I have my reasons for having this belief (or rather lack of ) Consequently, you have your own and your own reasons for thinking it is the true belief system. Would you like it if I came up to you in the street and tried to preach that there is no God? I am willing to bet you would feel harassed at the least, offended at the worst that I could just come up to you and try telling you what's what when you are set in your ways and have very valid reasons for having those ways. This is what a majority of people feel and why I dislike the idea of evangelism. I believe the doors should be kept open but you shouldn't feel like you have to come in when asked to. Either way, that's just my two cents on the matter. Finishing off here though, I will just share a short story that has kept with me for a long time. When I was in high school we went to the Holocaust Museum, and someone asked a survivor there if he "hated Germans". The old man replied that "there are good Germans and bad Germans. Just as there are good Jews and bad Jews." You cannot blame a whole group on a few bad apples. You throw the bad apples out and keep munching on the good stuff.

6.5/10 One of the highlights of my year was getting a new job at a winery out in the valley (luckily for me it is only a 45 minute drive), however I am failing my course and am seriously looking to drop out of it and transfer to another course. Had ups and downs with my partner, definitely more with my family but everything seems to smooth out in the end.

Biggest city you have with no subway/metro?
ROFLyoshi replied to WeBuiltThisCityOnSimCity's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
What you describe sounds oddly similar to the real life city of Melbourne. Were you able to perfectly recreate that in SimCity 4? Ha! In this case I wasn't talking about my Sim City, but my real life hometown of you guessed it, Melbourne. -

4537: I like beer but am picky about it though. My girlfriend will have a cider or a beer occasionally, but she is also choosy.

What comes to mind when you think about this city?
ROFLyoshi replied to Sleeping Politician's topic in Forum Games
Coca Cola and the Braves. Bendigo, Victoria? -
4534: Naww Spidey! At least you have kids of your own :3 After starting my new job, I'm starting to get into the whole wine thingy. Cracked open a bottle of Vermentino which is a variety I have never tried before. Crisp and Herby with a bit of lemon zest, nom nom. (although I had to stop myself from buying a Shiraz/syrah that is as old as me today...)

EU court removes Hamas from Terrorist Organizations List
ROFLyoshi replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
Why not? Although this may provoke controversy, I feel like there is an Israel bias in the world and the crimes committed by Israel are often ignored by the wider world. -
