Here's my idea Wall to Wall houses for your cities! Not all cities are metropolises with towering skyscrapers..... so I'm trying to make more lots for your more realistic cities. I only have one model done so far ( it took like 6 hours and i spent all day on it ) so i hope u like it! of course there will be more models then just this one and they will each have multiple recolors. I'm also debating if they should be 2 story ,as shown here ,or 3 story homes... any and all comments and critiques are appreciated

i tried all of those things you guys suggested however it did not work to fix the shadows LUCKILY I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!! i had to create a transparent wall that sat 8 meters to the right of the wall and it created a new shadow that covered the strange shadowing to answer the question as to how you can make bridges if it isnt underground first you have to use hole digging lots to dig a ditch and use NAM to build a bridge across the ditch Then you use the canal peices the exact same way that you would use highway walls and you plop them on the slope ( note the canals are rendered in draft quality for testing purposes) and tahdah u got a canal!!!!!! a cannal with perfect shadows <3 now i have 2 problems #1 the canals dont light up they are used as props could that be the problem? #2 i need inspiration!!!!!! tell me what i need to change or what peices i can addd!!!! if you see pictures or bridges or feautures or waterway you like......show me so i can try to recreate it please!!!! thnx guys
-
im trying what u guys are telling me....but can you show me exactly how i would turn off the shadows? ive tried lods changing and i just dont know what to do i need like a step by step way to do it btw these are not underground lots- they have to be dug out first and then plopped i have made some progress tho with a newly designed wall and bridge peices NOTE THESE ARE ALL RENDERED IN LOW OR DRAFT QUAILITY
-
ok i fixed it its rendered in draft btw so its grainy its now 2 seperate peices- a water peice - and a wall peice that works the same way as buddybud's rural sunken highway walls but how do i fix the shadows????? also does anyone have any coments on how to improve these?
-
i tried doing that but it still looks like it did in those pics any more suggestions?

Try # 2 at night lighting. The house on the right is a comparison to see how it look without any lights

-

Modify click and drag for industry
Simaddict1000 replied to SpongeLikeCannon's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
take either comercial zoning or residential zonging and lay out the size you want then go over in with industrial i noticed in my game when i did that that it kept the arrows and stuff- however i don't know if it will stop small buildings from growing -
alright so i went into editing the FSH's to sharpen up some of the details....but now i can't figure out how to get them into the game lol does anyone know how to do this? btw here are before and after pics from editing FSH's ( top=after bottom=before) o i also added a new roof texture. so if anyone knows how to get FSH's back into the game that would be great

@ T Wrecks + Torontomapleleafer : Thank you for the driveways links!!!! they worked great! I'm working on remodeling and retexturing the first house model as well as editing the FSH's and making recolors of the house. Then im gonna add it into lot editor and see how it comes out I'll have pictures when i'm done with it - should be sometime later today!

Still awaiting feedback on the high wealth models but untill then.... I thought that mabye instead of just high wealth neighborhoods there could be some low and medium wealth neighborhoods too. There are two units in the building and the share a fire escape in the front ( you canlt realy see the lader in it i just realized so i have to fix that ) This will probably be a medium wealth bulding. Still waiting on feedback for high wealth and stuff so yeah.... @ T Wrecks- thanks for pointing out the sidewalk thing- i guess im gonna have to ditch the driveway idea
-
@ torontomapleleafer - Thnx glad u like em so much Just wanted to see what i could do with these in lot editor. Does anyone know how to make the props footprints smaller? The way it it right now lot editor won't let it save. And still looking for ways to improve these buildings thnx

So heres what I got so far. On the far right house i toned down the white but it seems that the details are still not that visible for some reason. I also tried out a new roof texture with a gradient on the far right house and think it looks pretty good...but thats up to you guys to decide Just noticed a wall was missing whoops! So this will basicly be the overall style for the high wealth houses and as soon as you guys are satisfied with all the textures and whatever else needs fixing that ive overlooked ill move on to the rest of the houses. soon i also have to figure out how to do night lighting.... And thnx guys for the tip about Malwarebytes. It found 36 infections that spybot and Avg said didnt exist. @ Crackedtoothgrin - the part about not being able to click on any icon on my computer was basicly what was happening to mine- everytime i clicked sumthing instead of the program running a popup would come up saying the file was infected and blah blah blah- and trust me im no savant so i wont be touching editing anything @ SimHoTToDDy - where did you get one that cheap!?!? Thnx guys for the help

Oh, and as well I maynot have mentioned this, but I am NOT modeling after any sign in real life. These signs are fictional disign and I am making them for my CJ. As well, I don't have Inkscape.quote> This is FREE photo editing software that you can use to create your signs. It's just as good as photoshop and in my opinion is better than it when it comes to certain tasks. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ It can be complicated to use at first but there are plenty of tutorials on how to use it - the easiest way is just to go on youtube. By the way something that strikes me as odd is that you have opened a BAT thread for help and are completely ignoring anything anyone says. It's realy annoying. We are trying to help you with your projects...the least you could do is pay attention to the things we say. Good luck with the signs.

Well here is the neighborhood so far- the original 2 on the left and the new 2 i am making are on the right. These are two separate lots I just put them together so you could see what it would look like if the grew next to eachother in game. I don't exactly understand what you mean by putting a gradient on the roof but i added some highlights neer the top. I also added driveways that will overlap the sidewalk so that cars can actually get to the garage. @ Crackdtoothgrin - I have AVG and Spybot but the same virus still keeps being able to get in and the first thing it does is make it impossible to use them so yeah... also what does "Delineate the outline mean"? Thnx guys for the feedback
-
I wouldn't worry too much about the details on the top circle in your first pic- the game looks down on the building so top of the facade will hang over and cover the details you put in below...i hope this makes sense

Hi - ok so this project has not been abandoned! My computer keeps getting sick with the same stupid ( inappropriate language used here) virus that makes it impossible to open anything without getting a popup that says " this file is infected and cannot be used safely- would you like to purchase some antivirus software to combat this problem". Lucky for me my parents are caring and loving people .....yeah no. They thought the virus crippling my computer was a good thing and that it would be beneficial for me to stay way from the computer for a while. In short they refused to get it fixed until earlier today. Luckily for me none of my files were too badly damaged except for Google chrome which now crashes every time i use it. So I'm eager to get back to work and just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not done with this yet and will hopefully have an update by tomorrow-or today..depends on when you're reading this
