You do have a very good point with regard to fuel. However, the ak47 is not useless. I'm sorry, but its just not. battles don't take place at ranges of 800m, with snipers killing everyone. if that was the case, modern armies would be armed with only designated marksman rifles. They are not. Its not the greatest rifle out there, but its still effective. "bombs that can wipe out an entire tank comum with just one bomb,. from a jet fighter" are not prevelant last i checked. Or even existant, if they can be deployed from a jet fighter. I also think your misunderestimating the AA ability. Some are going to get shot down. Hell, the sporadic AA from the iraq wars downed a few aircraft, and this time in stead of a few hundred AA sights opening fire, there'll be a few thousand. Hell, even one of the airforces high tech AC130's, with all its electronic aviodance gear, was shot down in the first gulf war by an old soviet model shoulder launched AA missile. My main point is, the air forces would not be able to operate iwth the impunity that they currently do in iraq, and air support might suffer. As for the artillery, well there is a problem there. you see, the thing, they are close enough to it for it to do a lot of damage. there's a heavily fortified border there, and you could probably bet that the majority of the 12000+ peices are located within range of it, and have preset targets of most of the souths positions. It might be older, but its probably still accurate enough cause damage, and like i said, and there is a rather large number of guns to take out

It might not be the most accurate assult rifle in the world, however it is the most common. if its accuracy was horrible to the point of it being useless, it wouldn't be the most common now would it? Tanks? yes, the south has vast supremecy, tank to tank. they've even made their own home grown main battle tank that's quite impressive. On the other hand, these tanks are outnumbered by about 2-1, depending on, of course, the speed of conflict (overseas countries could of course provide more as a war drags on etc). I wouldn't go as far as to write them off completely. the gulf war involved almost complete air supremecy by allied forces, and as far as i know, most iraqi tanks were disabled by air (read recently about a mechanise attack on a Saudi town that was competely stopped by air units). Air supremecy over north korea couldn't be guarenteed, and there'd be many more targets per aircraft than in iraq.\ 1300 aircraft is a dam lot more than the iraqi's possessed, each one needs to be shot down, and they'd be sure to take down a few of the souths aircraft. the crippling air superioity in iraq allowed ground attack aircraft to operate without risk of being shot down by air assets, it probably wouldn't be the same in korea. Its also woth noting that in the iraq war, a prolonged bombardment preceeded actual fighting, giving plenty of time for AA to be systematically 'dismantled'. in the case of a korean war, the south wouldn't have the luxury of slowly grinding away at the norths AA assets (which are rumoured to be in the 1000's, if not 10's of thousands), as the norths troops would probably start moving straight away, this air superiority and ground attack would need to be performed at once, liminting inital, at least, ground attack. this could, of course, allow the norths tanks to be used, theoretically. The artillery, well, 12000 peices are a lot. If you somehow gain air superioity, that's 12000 individual airstrikes/counterbattery fire to take them out, odds are that a lot of them are going to do a fair amount of damage for a fair amount of time. Now, your figures don't agree (infact, are an underestimate) with wikipedia, however i know that, especially on something as controversial as this, wikipedia isn't really reilable. however, its just worth taking not that any figures could be biased or positioned to make one side look more powerful than the other for political or othewise motivated reasons. Its needless to say that, the north's military isn't the most impressive thing out there, but it is substantial. While i really doubt they'd be able to conquer the entire peninsular, they certainly have the capacity to do a lot of damage to the south economically, and as such the south would probably really want to avoid a war as much as possible.

Or, they could, you know, sell off the resources for a fraction of their value to a company, that will come in and mine it itself for a large profit. Happens practically everywhere, heck even the USA. Think about it, all the different oil companies there and the amount of money they're making off of it, then consider the amount that they're actually paying to the government.

Case: You mentioned something about "the reccomended case for the motherboard". that's a load of bull, any atx case will fit the motherboard fine. Buy a cheap-er one if your concerned (but not too cheap!) that being said, home making your own case is even worse, unless you have experience with building things, as mountings need to be decently prcise. Ram: Good enough, i think CPU: No idea, though it seems like its too good for the rest of the system (mobo?) as above i guess, no need to go crazy expensive here either GPU: dam fine choice HDD: no, don't get a "green" HDD, they're slower then a regular one. Saving money is a good thing, but this isn't the kind of way you want to do it. PSU; you should get the cosair HX-850 if its any cheaper, they are a quality power supply, quite modular, and everything you'd need for a gaming PSU. the model your referencing, never heard of it, probably doesn't add anything you'd need, but you might want to look it up in more detail. Might be a good way to save money here by downgrading to a Hx750 or hx650.

Depends on the actual video quality of the camera's in the phones though. Considering how small they are, i'd wager that its not good.

Quick question to any apple fanatics out there. Supposedly the iphone 4 (which does look quite nice actually), is priced at USD200 for the 16GB model, and USD300 for the 32GB model. does this 32GB model actaully add anything apart from extra storage? You do realise that the chinese military is modern, right? they have a decent airforce, they probably have world class AA facilities, they have modern Battle tanks, modern training etc. Even if they only deployed 2-3 million men, it'd sure as hell make a noticable effect. Where do people get this idea of a "short war" from? we're talking about a country with 4 million soilders. Sure, they might not have all the fancy planes and drones, (they're not using 50's stuff either though), but each man has a rifle, which is pretty much as deadly as any rifle that anyone else has. 3 million of them dug in in a defensive war in the north would not be in any way, shape or form easy. You can't have 3 million individual drone or airstrikes.

Probably wasn't a big explosion. They only make mundane sounding small stuff, so its not like there some high tech military thing that's malfuntioning. all in all not really much to talk about.

They're called stirling engines, pretty neat actually, can run them off of the heat of your hand (in theory). of course, power and torque output is dreadfully low.

Bigger isn't better for a phone. the size it is, where are you going to put it? if you get some sort of carry case, then you might as well carry a laptop. Has more function, and keys.

I thought dams like the aswan dam in egypt and the three gorges dam in china were much longer than that anyway.. Quick check of wikipedia tells me aswan dam is 12000 feet long. thats 10 times as long as your puny bever dam. Utterly horrible fail of reporting there.
