Mael24, thats a very nice interchange - and some good photoshopping too However, in the first pic, the RHW-4 transitions suddenly into a RHW-2 - this will ruin that direction of the interchange. You can fix this pretty easily, but remember to change the RHW-4 over RHW-2 into a RHW-4 over RHW-4.

Here is a RHW partial-Y interchange: I like partial - Y interchanges in simcity. A full interchange in this instance is really not needed, as those workaholic sims use transport only for commute. Now sims are idiots in some sense, but they are smart enough not to need to make a u-turn. There are rare occasions where sims may need a full directional Y-inderchange, but for most instances, they are fine. Hope you didn't mind my rant...

The CJ looks nice - some good potential there. BTW this is just a personal preference, but you may want the SAM instead of Trolca's Street Mod... I dunno, whatever you want

Hi, ThomassamohT You can get one of these. it blocks all maxis buildings in RCI - but you can choose which ones you block. you can find it here There is also a SFBT Tree replacement mod - it replaces all Maxis trees with some other custom ones. You can find it here. Cheers, Sqiddster

4: Welcome to Pacifia! Thank you reading my City Journal. I hope you have as much fun reading it as i will have making it. The Origins of Pacifia Pacifia is located on the planet of Meson, which is pictured in a very famous Earth image here: Here we have a close up of Meson. As you can see, it looks very similar to Earth: The Pacifia region is what we have all come to see: (This region was terraformed by Tiwerick and originally called Pacific Heights. Cheers mate!) (There will most probably be some changes to this terrain as time goes on) Info Mods I am using: Network Addon Mod Rural Highway Mod Street Addon Mod Colombus Terrain Mod Realistic Water Mod Cycledogg's trees And a bunch more that are too small to mention With Pacifia, I will be open to requests and advice of any sort. Any advice will be thought about and requests will be strongly considered. I like to have the Simtropolis community help me! The first update will be coming soon!

Update Time! Update 4: How Civilisation in Pacifia came to be... Hello again! it's nice to see you. I hope you will enjoy this update. How Civilisation in Pacifia came to be Have you noticed that civilisation in Pacifia is quite first grade for a frontier town - Where did the people of Pacifia get the money to afford all those luxuries on a newly discovered land? The answer involves a situation that happened before Pacifia was even discovered - Minutes of meeting 10b The names of people involved have been removed to protect their identities - only the first letter of their names remain P: Greetings everyone. I assume you know why we are here. G: Yes R: Yes B: Of course H: Yes G: No P: G, of course you don't. you are just the security Guard. P: L? R: L is not present P: Why not? R: Some business in Naval Headquarters P: Very well. Let us continue. As I was saying, you all, (Except G) know why we are here - The overpopulation of North Meson. G: Yes R: Yes B: Of course H: Yes G: No P: We've already been through this! G: Sorry. P: Anyway, we must discuss our options. We obviously cannot move excess population to South Meson. G: Our people don't deserve treatment by South Meson H: those (censored) P: The way I see it, we will have to kill all newborn babies from here on in. B: Too bad H: Agreed. L: Wait! P: L? G: L? B: L? H: L? P: L. You must be back from your business L: Yes. I have some good news. P: Proceed L: Sailors D and J P: Never heard of them L: Of course not. anyway, D and J have stumbled on a large landmass in the middle of Spartin Ocean G: Gasp. P: Guard! keep out of this. L: Yes. They named it Pacifia P: Pacifia? L: yes P: hmm. Is it habitable? L: D says it is. P: this could prove useful. How large? L: over 4 x 4 large city tiles, sir. P: I will definetly look into this. Thank you L. Dismissed. The rest of this document has been stored in file Q-10 as regulations require. Only 2 months later, a large fleet of ships, with unlimited finances provided by the Government of North Meson, sailed for this new landmass Upon reaching land, the town of Stranton was begun, and lots of North Mesonians moved on in, which brings us back to the first update. There is still outrageous demand all over Pacifia: And that is a rough story of how civilisation on Pacifia came to be. Now a more 'regular' update, however, there will be less pics then usual. Firstly, we have some high tech industry developing in Stranton: And a new GooberGen Air Purification Plant (courtesy of federal funds) And just a few tiles away, some nice scenery Pacifia Times Large Expanse of Trees Appear Out of Nowhere! Today, Locals of Parakeet Plains were amazed when a vast forest appeared out of nowhere! Bobby Novlen says : I think some GOD went crazy or something! Researchers are suprised as well, but welcome the development, as the pollution levels have dropped and the forest also nurtures the local wildlife. More details in tomorrow's issue. Also, we have a great amount of expansion, particularly in Stranton. To finish, the rail system, in Parakeet plains especially, is going great, with a large amount of commuters utilising the wide ranged system. Well, that's all for this week! Remember, comments, constructive criticism, suggestions and requests are all welcome! Also, for a limited time, there are openings for several jobs on the Board of North Meson - drop a comment to apply, and you will probably be included in future meetings. Check back to this update to see who gets what job! Openings: Director of Finance Security Guard Director of the Naval Office Director of Population Issues See you next time!

Here is an interchange which i thought of one day.... It's a high - capacity interchange for 2 dual RHW 4 highways. I think it's compact and looks good as well. I believe it's a stack, but i can't be sure - I'm not an interchange buff like some of you guys... Here it is with DrawPaths A zoomed out view of the entire interchange. As you can see, it is not in an actual city, just a 'doodle pad' city of mine. But from now on, it will be in most of my urban cities. And here it is with some traffic generators and eyecandy. Anyone is welcome to use this in their city journal, just please give me some credit I hope this hasn't been done before, but if it has, i didn't copy it. enjoy.

Update Time! Update 3: Industry, RHW, and a new land Hello again! Welcome to the third instalment in the City Journal of Pacifia. I hope you will enjoy this update. Following on from the teaser in the last update, A new city has been established, called Parakeet Plains. It is called that because of the relatively tree-less state it was found in (at least compared to Stranton) First off, I have levelled a plateau for some industrial development. If you look to the far left, you can see a landfill. Some infrastructure and zoning: As you can see, I used parcel zoning for my industrial areas and ensures that the industry is not full of little 1 x 1 lots. To the north there is some infrastructure for more residential suburbs. Zoned: and developed. My industry has developed too, let's take a look... WHAT THE? This is all High tech industry! This won't suit my Slummy Sims..... It was demolition time, and in time, all the industry was replaced with nice, welcoming, uh... smelly, polluting dirty industry. To the south, there is an odd-looking intechange - i suppose you could calll it a cloverstar.... Back in good ol' Stranton, something is a bit sus.... Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Looks like the McGraineys could do withg a little bit of interrgation.... Also, I have placed a diagonal bridge. oh joy. The mayor is faced with a problem. It seems that my whole city is full of old people! Oh help. i will need to prepare for a mass population dive. Back in the Plains, here are 3 landmarks: The Parakeet College Parakeet Pentacostal and an amusing Tennis court It seems that the current industrial area cannot cater for the citizens of Parakeet Plains, so the mayor plans an expansion: Also, there is a large demand for...... Nuts? The education in Parakeet plains is quite shocking: Perhaps it has something to do with only 5, yes 5 students in the school. Ouch. Cookie to anyone who knows why.... Anyway, to help deal with the problem, the mayor puts up another school.... And slowly, the citizens start upgrading: Still, the citizens want more industry. So I level some room for even more expansion: Hmmm, that 'cloverstar' has a lot of dead space - no good for a bustling industrial centre. I will downgrade it to a Parclo interchange. And the finished industry: Here we have a sprawling suburb: and the whole of Parakeet Plains: along with all of Stranton: And finally, a roundabout interchange to the southeast. Well, I hope you enjoyed this update. Stay tuned for more, and as always, comments, suggestions, requests, constructive criticism, and sushi is always welcome. In the next update: How Civilisation in Pacifia Came to Be.

Crazy Stilts and Rediculous Digging - Whacky box ground for lots on slopes
sqiddster replied to EnochHeath's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Hi! I have this trouble all the time. There is a good article on the omnibus on how to handle this problem. it seems you just 'make historical' the houses that are slope conformed while you demolish all the ones with ugly retaining walls. Hope that helped, sqiddster -
elemented9 just a suggestion - maybe you should use the rural GLR puzzle pieces for your park....
-
Okay - sorry for lack of linkage but if you have had sc4 for a long time then you will know where most of these are. Water mod (there are a few) Terrain mod (also a few) Save Alarm mod. it may sound simple but boy, it helps. God terraforming in Mayor mode mod Extra cheats DLL (uploaded to STEX recently) the highlight of this is DrawPaths, it is very useful. Bridge heght Mod Street Side Mod Street Addon Mod Street cul-de-sac Mod Thats all i can think of now...

sure.. i dunno what it could be though...

This comes all down to preferences, but i like my cities as realistic as possible. This is all depending on what we like in a city, i suppose..... -
requesting zone relieving lots
sqiddster replied to thehandyman's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hi, While some lots of this type are available, an easy way would be to use the Industry Quadrupler. it increases the jobs of all industry buildings by 4x. Hope that helped. -
Replies myrunespace: Thanks! i wanted to start this one from scratch-so people could help me hone my skills and make requests while i was making it. The poor are taxed more because i think their homes are ugly - middle class homes make for good suburbs. ComputerGuy890100: Thanks! also thanks for following Pacifia - i will have to think of an award system for the person with the most comments!

Update Time! Update 2: More development, better industry, and a whole bunch of general 'stuff' ! Welcome back! Thank you for returning to Pacifia-I trust you enjoyed the last update, and will enjoy these many photos of new goodness! The update starts with some infrastructure and tree-clearing: To be a farm! I love streets on farms but we all know that streets cannot make neighbour connections so they generally make for long freight trips. However, i have a little trick: This farm is mostly owned by the McGrainey clan and employs many citizens from main Stranton. The farmer's market in the district is a great demand cap relief for the rest of the town. Speaking of industry, i have upgraded my factory sector a bit - I think it looks much better: This massive building cost the mayor an investment of 100,000 simoleons but it provides 5000 jobs for the community. Anyway back to the main town: I have zoned some expansion: And it develops very quickly- Here we have some new suburbs: And a rich in poorland: In fact... there seems to be an awful lot of rich citizens in Stranton... very unlike starting towns... Here we have some pictures of commerce in Stranton: A new friendly's restaurant: a public pool: And a new drive-in theatre in an old section of town. Also, sims cheer completion of the new City Hall: To be housed in a CBD (of sorts). A problem... When my population hit about 10000, It happened: Mass unemployment. All over Stranton, buildings displayed the dreaded 'no job zot'. myguess is that i was almost at 50% unemployment! So i browsed the forums here at Simtropolis and found a very useful piece of information: It seems that because my city was so desireable, lots of rich people moved in. However, there were almost no jobs available for the rich in Stranton as i have not moved up to high tech industry yet, so now i was faced with a problem. How do i, in a gentle matter, without upsetting anyone, get the rich snobs to leave town? Oh..... I know! Now my city is back on its legs. I would like to continue the tour with a showcase of my railway system. The rail system here in stranton is critically important, not just to commuters, but also for frieght. Another highlight of Stranton (which will surely continue over all Pacifia) is its rural highway system. Here we have an upgrade of the P-1 Interchange to a cloverleaf: and a rail underpass: I Hope you enjoyed this second update. Remember, comments, repllies, feedback, advice and requests are all encouraged. Also remember to check back the first post as it will be updated from time to time... To finish, a small teaser of the next update....

Replies: Archean- Thanks! I like the slopey look for my residential suburbs, but i agree it should be flat for everything else. from now on my industry will be the epitome of flatness Petrovar Ambassador- Thanks alot!
