Indiana Joe and the Quest for the Ultimate Plugins Folder
dieMaus replied to Indiana Joe's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hello, usually I'm a quiet reader of the topics, but this time I wanna ask a question. Dont wonder, I'm a casual SC4 player and normally just throwing all kind of random stuff in my plugin folder. Also I have no single clue about modding or related stuff in SC4. This topic is really really great, as it works as a somehow curated list of great content from the awesome community where I can dive deeper on some creators to add more things I like and still maintain a somehow coherent look. What I wonder however, as I'm just reading and looking through your residential selection, is that it seems that you create a personal "mod" from all the mentioned Lots. So in the end you have one single selection of Lots from all the mentioned packs of your choice (also selected and sorted in "groups", like the mentioned tilesets?) If I now just take some of the linked content and play with it, do I get ALL the new lots at the same time or do some of them effect the same thing and the "last" one wins? (For example, I only get the R$$$ that are loaded last?). I would really like to achieve some control of the style of my various "cities", so e.g. in the rural areas only the "rural" lots growing, if that makes any sense for you (english is not my first language :D) Is there any easy way to achieve something like that without the need of modding myself as you seem to do?- 87 Replies

Hey guys, as I play around with SC4 again, there is a question. Atm I got some basic mods and now I starting to play around. Now I have this farmland. I wanna use streets/roads, but the basic (Maxis) ones dont fit in. I saw this nice pics in the other forum-area, it seems there are some kind of dirt?-roads. That is what I'm looking for. So is it possible to use (atm the standard-textures) and ALSO a second set for the dirt version in the farm-areas? If yes, anyone got some links to the relevant mods? I already grabbed some dirt-tracks, but as they are not traffic-enabled, they are just inbetween for eyecandy. I hope you can help me Thx!

High R$ and R$$ Demand, no Growth?
dieMaus replied to dieMaus's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
well, found out the problem. the tutorial i used didnt cover taxes and tax rates, so besides the 20% for unwanted industry and some lower taxes in CBD i had it 9% everywhere. so basically, CO$$$ and CS$$$ was everywhere, thats why the demand for cs$ and c0$ was so high. so, increased the taxes, destroyed the co$$$ and cs$$$ buildings, and now my region is crowing again , also my cbd is looking fantastic with all that incoming high wealth demand next time i should tage a closer look on buildings first -
Hello all, first i have to thank all ppl here, reading all those famous postings here finally gave me some ideas how to play SC4 WEll, for my situation, i got RH, latest Patch, NAM. I started Fairview region, and played it with help from one Omnibus Tutorial. On the way various problems arised, but with the help of this forum most of them whre solved. so, now i have around 175.000 ppl living in fairview, 1 big and 2 smaller suburbs, with only R$ and R$$ high educated sims (1x1 zoning is funny, no unwanted R$$$ ), 2 indusry citys, various small HT citys all around, and, finally, some more citylike districts, basically 4 grid.layout res citys with only little commerce, and one CO only city, just like the tutorial mentioned no problems there, all maps are filled up with med dense, all services are provided andnot on full capacity, education is all high. my CBD is also build up, no empty zones. so, the problem i got now is: all grid citys have extrem high R$ and R$$ demand (bar at top), and zero R$$$ demand. well, as soon as there is some small R$$$ demand, some buildings get rebuild to allow more R$$$ sims. but, nothing happens to my R$ and R$$ ppl. i looked at the graph, i n all towns there is some stable R$ and R$$ population, but it wont increase. i tried to lay down hgh density zones, but still no effect. only when little R$$$ demand is coming (probably due some education ), the zones got rebuild. why are no more R$ and R$$ sims moving in? my region is stagnation now of this, and idk how to solve it... is there a similar way to prevent R$$$ sims with zone size, just i do in suburbs with 1x1? or is it another problem? first i thought i only got R$$$ in my citys, because there alot mansions and other high class buildings, but after looking at the graph, the majority of the city is still R$$. so idk why there are ot more coming, if the demand bar is on top... anyone can gimme tipps? i added one sreenshot, all other citymaps look basically the same.. edit: sry, the forum seems to ignore my newlines? edit2: oh html needed
