Excellent news! I'm patiently waiting for updates!

Holy [fill in a word] !!!! I feel very sorry for you pilotdaryl, and I know how you feel, because I had this stuff too some months ago. Luckily I managed to backup my photo's and other important files. I surely hope you can as well.... I wish you all the luck in the world, and I personally hope the project will continue at the same rate, like it used to before you got all these problems. I'll keep on checking this thread, and I hope to see you around again when your viruses and stuff have been taken care off (for good, that is). Again, best of luck, PT

@Mother of Invention, A small tip, turn around both of the blastpads. Anyway, cute lil' airfield!

This really is a lovely project, and I'm looking forward to the release. Great work Aviation Group! But does anybody know if Voltaire's project is still alive, the one of the Boeing 737, Airbus A321 and the prefab terminals. LINK And could you maybe show a teaser of the Boeing 777 you're working on? THX

Hi all, I've been here for a while, and already started a CJ (see signature). I'll tell something about myself: Well, my name is Patrick, and I live in The Netherlands. I'm 14 years old, and I go to a bilingual school, so 3/4 of the subject I have in school, are in English, the other subjects in Dutch. Things I like to do are: - Playing SC4 (rather obvious) - Airplane spotting. I visit Schiphol International quite often. - Listening to music. I'm a Queen fan, as you can see in my sig, and my avatar. - I also like model building (civil aviation) - Playing football. My favourite football club is PSV from Eindhoven. - I like building airports in SC4, and that's what my CJ is about. Ok, well that's it actually, not more to tell... See y'all around sometime!

This, this is the Queen's Point area. Known for its beautifully formed mountain, fresh mountain air, and the highway bridge over the "Big Dig" crater. The bridge was completed in 1990, and had cost over a 100.000 Simdollar. The construction of the highway killed 4 construction workers, and everyday, a lot of people use this dangerous road to travel from suburb, to work. The local government knew that problems concerning traffic congestion could occur in the following years. Plans for building new roads would only be a temporary solution. They knew radical changes had to be made. Therefore, the Department of Transport came up with an ambitious plan. An airport, with air services between the suburbs and downtown. The plan was approved by the authorities, and construction began in 1995. Construction was finalized 3 years later. This is the result: Queen's Point Regional Airport. This airport has lots of room available for expansion, and the airport is already beign used at 80% of its capacity. As you can see, there are no hangers, no parking space, and barely enough runway length. Expansion is needed, and this will be done in phases. And therefore this City Journal. Construstion will begin very soon! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now some info about this whole project: - I will be using a money cheat, otherwise this can't be done! - The region is one I made myself I would like to give credit to the following parties and people for providing custom content: - NAM team - Custom transit puzzle pieces - Pilotdaryl - Plane textures (Jets Of The Sky, Westjet Avro RJ85) - Acebovenopdeberg - Terminals and Jets, series 1 and 2 - Voltaire - RMIP runways, ramps and aprons - SFBT Team - Euro Road Textures, Rural power supply - Tonyhotrod64 - Road Divider Parking Lots - Simtropiaproductions - Light replacement mod highways - Brtim2 - Communications Tower - mike_oxlong - Boeing 737 plane props - Tabi - Plane props - Kumba - Plane props It's very likely that this list will become larger as the airport expands... _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That's it for now, update follow soon. Greetz, PT

Disturbing news just came in: Construction workers are on strike. They want less working hours and a higher salary. Just a joke, here's the real deal: Due to my exam week, I think I can't post anything new, because I have to study for my tests. This means, no update on Queen's Point for a couple of days. Hope you understand... PT P.S. I hope there are still people checking this CJ, lack of replies lately. If you want ot say something, or bring in an idea, don't hasitate, and post.

Franklin County - 12th Anniversary Update, All-Nighttime Shots of New Riverside Downtown
PT replied to Patricius Maximus's topic in SC4 City Journals
Just want to say, lovely! PT P.S. Sorry for posting so much messages there, being impatient again..... -
Alrighty, it took me a few days to complete, but here it is: your new update. Phases 1, 2 and 3 are finished, so next up is phase 4: Parking facilities and hangers. Here's what's new: The airport overview. New facilities for the business jets. The old airport will be demolished, only the runway of the old airport remains open for air traffic. A new runway for business jets and other small aircraft. This is Pier D, also known as the Red-Grey pier. This pier is only used by Northwest International Airways. Queen's Point is their new Hub. I personally love this part of the airport. Pier E, used by major American carriers for Trans Atlantic flights. The airport's main entrance. As you can see, still lots of space to expand... End of this update, and see you again soon, PT

As for tonights game, I hope Germany wins, because Portugal already kicked out The Netherland twice before. Go Germany, make Portugal pay. ^^ Nice that these blokes from other countries support The Netherlands as well. And so do I (I'm Dutch, that's why.....). Cyu

Hey there, Today, I finished another pier: Pier C will be used for airplanes flying domestic routes further than 2000km. A maximum of 9 planes can use this pier. If needed, Boeing 737s can also use this pier. In the next update, a nice surprise for all of you! PT
-
And here's a brand new update! First of all, I had changed the airport a bit, so some of the stuff you saw in the last update isnt present anymore. My apologies for this, and it won't happen again, I assure you! Next time i'll plan ahead better. Ok, this is the airport, (correct pic): As you can see, I removed one runway, and replaced it for a West-East runway. 09L-27R is a very long runway, and can even be used by the Airbus A380. One disadvantage of this runway is that the runway cannot be used to the East, due to complaints of the people who live near the airport. Landings are always on 09L, starts on 27R. I've also completed the first 2 piers, which are used by medium range aircraft. Once again, I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE PICTURES AND STUFF, I'll plan ahead better in the future. Cya, PT

@roboo1: Actually, there is not much region to show to you. This is the only terraformed map in the region. Other development will folow as the airport develops.
-
First, I would like to thank you all for your massive amount of replies! Here's a new update: The first 2 new runways are finished, and so are the taxiways. Runway 18-27 has been extended, but remains a non-precission runway for General Aviation. EDIT: AIRPORT CHANGED A BIT, SEE NEXT UPDATE FOR CORRECT PICS!!! See y'all, PT P.S: @Riuchando - You are correct, the name of my CJ is based on my favourite band: Queen (and so is my signature),

That is an awesome interchange, well done!

And here I am again! In the days that have passed, the government has had a meeting about these numbers concerning Queen's Point Regional Airport. Believe me, these numbers really are a reason to be concerned about: This is concerning, and the problem is, more runways are needed to cope with the growing amount of passengers. The CEO of Queen's Point Regional Inc. noticed that more and more people from foreign countries use Queen's Point Regional to visit Downtown Queen's Point. Therefore, the CEO decided that Queen's Point Regional has to be turned into an INTERNATIONAL Airport, capable of handling 30.000.000 passengers per year. To do this, new runways, terminals and other facilities have to be built. Again this will be done in phases. Here is a summary of the phases the airport will be expanded in: - Phase 1: Runways - Phase 2: Terminals and gates - medium aircraft - Phase 3: Terminals and gates - Long distance aircraft/heavy jetliners - Phase 4: Parking facilites/ hangers - Phase 5: Improvement of infrastructure (highway and train connections) "A great and magnificent plan", the secretary of transport said. The expansion will cost an estimated 7.000.000§. The government already stated that "money ain't no problem". Construction will begin as soon as the President (Me!) has signed the all the necessary paperwork. Cya, PT

Hey, you're new around here, aren't you? Yup, the first 2 Boeing 737 landed at Queen's Point Regional Airport. The became possible due to the placing of ALS lighting systems and larger terminals. Continetal Airlines has set up a connection between the other big cities in the country. And Westjet takes care of regional/domestic flights. Here's what's more: More business jets can come to Queen's point because of the new gates available. The new ALS system, and brand new sequenced flashing lights as well. And the whole airport, which is become bigger and bigger... Cya, PT P.S. Thanks for all your replies!!
-
@superchad Well, building the airport more to the right is going to be difficult at this point. Anyway, just wait for the story to develop. All will become clear later on.
-
Small update: Today, a new part was completed. Parking (for airplanes, of course...), and 5 Hangers were built. Here's a picture: Cya, PT
-
I actually made a City Journal on my Airport (The airport at Queen's Point). If you want to see it, click the link in my signature. The airport will become much bigger though, I'm telling you!
-
The first update. Here's what's new: - Runway is extended - More gates available - Terminal complex expanded - More parking facilities - New runway exit built Here are the pictures of the work done already: The runway under construction (it's finished now though). Aiming points were added to the runway, making it easier for pilots to land. Overview of Terminal 1 (the only terminal around however... ^^), new parking facilities, and 2 new gates. The gates for the business jets, with one new gate available. On the runway you can see an airplane mysteriously disappearing... ^^ With the new gates available, the airport is full of activity. This Avro RJ85 came by at a very high speed, I could hardly capture it on the camera... And an overview of the current situation. Same shot, but now at night. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That's it for now. The next step is building hangars and landinglights (and more of course). Cya, PT

Deleted messages... For those who don't really get the story, don't mind it too much. The idea behind this CJ is to show how a Regional Airport grows into a large International Airport. I just thought the lil'story made things look pretty... Anyway, the airport is connected to the suburbs, so commuters can fly to downtown. This is a solution to the busy and dangerous highway in the mountains. Sorry for beign a bit unclear there PT
-
@superchad: Building another road would only be a temporary solution, with this airport, the problem will be solved for many years. @luker91: Oops! Didn't notice. It sounded like a good title to me, but I'll change it.

Hi all, I found out about this Lot editor, but you HAVE to dowloand this from the official Simcity 4 site. Therefore, you have to register your game. Here comes the problem: I live in the Netherlands, and this country is not in the list of countries you can chose form, when you register your game, with the Electronic Registration program, Maxis supplied with the game. Anyone of you have the same problem. Is there a fix for this? And most important, how do I get the Lot editor? Thx, Patrick
