So, uhh.... anyone lose this? That window has been coming up (about 4-7 times each time) whenever I search for a while now. But now it isn't coming up all the time, but that results page is. Tried several ways around it and I keep getting that. Just started last night. Thought I'd let someone know.

Hey there, been a while... Just like to know if you still exist. I'm really liking what I've seen so far, it'd be a very cool addition to the game.
-
I was wondering where you got off too. Welcome back crazy. Even if you produce the same stuff as you did a year ago, its still extremely good. Er... you probably don't recognize the name, had to change it a while back... heh.

Hey man, you alive? Just checking to see if your pc died on you again.

Hmm, thought about making a matching station to go with the mod? Just an idea...

Sounds exactly like what I'm having. Same OS, same video card, just a bit less ram and different cpu. I get about 10-15 minutes then it dies. Usually it accompanied by explorer crashing, cpu shooting up to max, lock ups, search system failure, or "resource handler" shutdown, a whole load of fun things. I use the plugin manager and know my way around things. I have a strong feeling that it may be a plugin problem. I've even tried isolating vista by running it in xp computability mode. Just thought I'd throw it out there. I'll be looking into my problem within the next few days and report back with what I find.

SC4 Startup Manager - manage your plugins!
Elaclairee replied to Andreas Roth's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Been having difficulties with the program lately. The game itself keeps on crashing, but whenever I exit it myself, the plugin manager locks up and refuses to exit. Plus, for some odd reason... all the icons in one of my sub-folders have changed to the green arrow. I planned on re-installing the manager, but every link I can find gives me a 404 error. So I'm not sure what my question is, just looking for assistance. -
Ah, thanks. Figured as much, just thought it might have somehow co-existed with the current in-game version. And by diagonals I meant the actually supports.
-
You understood me perfectly. As far as I'm concerned its just a very minor thing. Finishing this project to your expectations is more important. Because.... then you may uh, move onto other projects. Very nice though, I see you haven't done the diagonal yet. Hope it goes well for you. The transition piece is very well done. I'm curious how this system works though, never understood it. Is it just like the original version, but using the originator puzzle piece to change the look?

Really cool demonstration. I've noticed that the track seems to be more of sitting on the supports rather than be a part of it. Have you considered changing any of the network textures to make it blend/mesh a bit better?
-
Very nice indeed. Remember to backup every so often. Also, I wouldn't mind you re-doing those sunken road things next.
-
flip bug Oh, and I'm here... haven't played the game in quite some time. Sorry for no comments.

The concept of maybe seeing some new buddybud sunken network bits in my city is quite enticing... Anyway, I don't know if I like that street conection thing. If it was just an overlay texture that looked like it connected, thats different. But having it actually connect like that really screws up the vehicle generator, causing loops and traffic jams. A path/driveway thing like that was done before, looked like it connected right to the road, when all it did was overhang the texture from the lot over the sidewalk. Look into it and tell me what you think.
-
So glad you've returned. Be sure to do backups every so often. Also... if your life ever allows for it, you were doing some pretty awesome work with sunken roads before your pc tanked again and you disapeared. *wink*

No. I don't think they'd want to have thier game compatible with the next generation communist OS. They'd much rather occupy the corner market of Mac, Linux, and dwindling XP users. In the end, I couldn't resist myself.... yes, it will. Don't even have to guess.

I believe you'll have to contact the email providers and get your site removed from the spam list. Shouldn't be too complicated. Nice site btw, and really awesome building, love the high-resolution of the textures you're using. My only suggestions are to make the bar on the left hand side about half the width that it is when you're logged in. Oh... and your banner, the textures on the buildings are extremely grainy and borderline bad. Might wanna think about putting up something a bit more.... presentable. Appears to be a bit of an anti-aliasing issue too.

I think the most that can be asked out of anyone on this site, is that they try. When a new post-happy member comes along who fails to take the suggested steps before posting, it gives no other member the right to belittle them. Politely help with whatever they need, and if need-be point out their errors and suggest in understandable terms how to correct them. Sure, you may say "just another *****, who needs them", but thats wrong. Every member is important. Older members disappear all the time, without an influx of new ones ST would quickly die. Who knows... the one or two newcomers that get chased off may have very well been the next great thing, someone with the skill to really add to the community. Heck, that one person leaving after a few posts could have become, say... a pather, something we truly need. Just keep the possibilities open.

It is also hard to coax those ego's into a communist rule. It isn't just here, its every single forum, blog, and chat room on the internet. Even in very small close-knit forums, it can't be stopped. Its just a fact that we have to deal with. Like there are idiots and prejudice people in real life, so will they be online.
-
But the longer they take, the higher thier expenses go, the harder it is to get a good profit, the less likely they are to add or make a new version. Plus, if they don't have to put as much focus on something that could be as complex as weather/seasons and the effects it has on your city, they can spend more time on the actual core game play effects. True, a franchise like Sims 2 is only good because of the EP's, but thats because they purposefully put out an extremely hollow shell of a game. I'm just saying I'd rather see them focus more on the core game, and then build some great additions later on. In any sort of simulation game, especially a city builder, the core mechanics are extremely difficult and time consuming to make, and especially so to do right. Let them get the things in that need to be there, things that would screw up the game if added later. Expansions are meant to add to the game play, not screw it up like RushHour did for SC4.

There are clouds in SC4, both in region and city... just very high up. All you do is zoom below them. Hmm... wow, if MC pulls out all the stops, I would be floored if I saw a heavy rain start to flood my streets and maybe even flood rivers, cause mudslides, and collapse of retaining structures and such... that would be soooo nice. Weather, climate, and disasters related to... all in EP1, that would be quite a hit, no? Yeah yeah, you want it ALL to be in the base game, but wouldn't you rather them take the extra time and just go all-out with it, then deliver it 6-8 months later?

It really has nothing to do with the number, but of the attitude. If you're new, you will more than likely stand out, not be able to meet the expected norms of the forum. This comes with time. I can back this up because, well... me. To avoid, erm... my reputation, I started this new account a while back. I did everything I could to not act like the old me, don't get all buddy-buddy with people. I experienced not a single problem from post 1. I acted with an air of composure and respect of others, and was thus respected in return. So really, people aren't treated as a "lesser" because of some silly post number, its how they act, which is completely within their power to change. If you want to do an experiment, I suggest eliminating the post count. Watch how the way people are treated doesn't change. As a new member you can chose to be a lurker for a bit and figure out how things work, or you can burst right in and make your first post "lolz, wts da nam yo ". Mh, I rest my case.

All I can say is this... Make us proud and our pockets will loosen. Also, this world-type spin on region building seems interesting. It may be a sad departure from the custom maps we've gotten used to, but its different and worth a shot. I'm just making assumptions that I know cannot be proven or disproved right now, but eh. Remember this fact too... SC4, the game we all love so much and basically wish to be rehashed in a next-gen style, was hideous with system requirements when it came out. If you guys at MC manage to do the same... so be it. A great game should not be limited by those few without the means of using it. From what I've seen so far... I don't think many people would mind sinking a bit of money into their pc to run this game.
