I played Streets of Simcity. It was fun but the annoying bugs kept messing me up. Now I play a weird spectrum of games from Simcity 2000 to Star Wars Battlefront 2 (and of course Simcity 4.) Hopefully he bring out something fun to play like the Maxis of old... or the video game industry of old... æ

[2009] Lot Editor and Plug-in Manager - Forum Archive
sim-Al2 replied to tvguy's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
The best thing I can think would be to copy the LUA script to the new station's lot file and see if you can edit to avoid and conflicts (I have next to no experience with LUA scripts but Swamper77 at SC4Devotion might be able to help, if he has any time...)- 172 Replies

Note: This reply was to the deleted post: Originally posted by: rudric I think the canal mods are the most stupid i've ever seen. Most of the game's stuff is contained in just a few files. Deleting any would cause the game to not run at all, or at least produce more than a few errors.

OMG you made diagonal SG canal pieces! Something that would make them much easier to use. Now for answers: 1. When you import them into the PIM, you must set a flag under the settings so that it displays at all zooms(1, 2, 3 ,4, 5) 2. You can use a program called SC4 Tools ( this is the easiest to use ) or the Reader ( more complex to use, but a very powerful tool) 3. A useful guide is avaliable here https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=307.0 , but it is located on SC4Devotion, which requires you to have an account, but I would recommend it anyway because it's an excellent custom content community. 4. To my knowledge none has been made. 5. If it weren't for these excellent people very few would play this game anymore!

Thanks masochist. When I said it would slow down I meant a region-sized tile, unless major changes were made to the game's code. By the way technically I think resource allocation would need to be redesigned for such a system to work.

The computing power required would be immense, ie I doubt a gaming computer could keep up with more than 100,000 sims.

PLEASE help big problem with 'datas/mask.png' file?
sim-Al2 replied to LironTheChick's topic in Mapping Community Room
Choose a region folder. BTW you don't need to (and probably shouldn't) extract the library.zip file. I still not sure why but it has to do with the way the program is compiled. -
Not to bother you mrb but what is that whale doing anyway? Looks a tad out of place...

Custom + Real-Life Airports

Originally posted by: TekindusT any in-game airport serves an entire region.quote> Correction: Airports serve only the city they are placed in. Not sure about Duke's posting but this sounds like a monumental waste of money. Why not, say use it for something that more than 20 people a day actually use... like schools, or maybe hospitals? I guess I'm asking way too much here.
-
Let's just pretend that update never existed. I wonder how PG-13-ratedness is meaured anyway?
-
just install the lastest version of Dx9. It doesn't matter.

There's a Maxis bridge like that. Otherwise choco has made bridges styled like that(their not actually road birdges)

So still, where does one get that aircraft carrier? Anyway, the update looks great after your very long absence!

The Capital of the World!
sim-Al2 replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
It's not acutally the middle but it would be pretty decently located for many countries. -
Looks nicer than the cramed to death districts!

64x28 is a tad large. I don't think the program uses memory effectively enough to make something that... huge! Also make sure that config is correct i.e. it's not hard to make a large city 3 pixels on one side instead of 4.

hmm... remember downloading Chain v2 once... don't remember what it does ingame... if I remember correctly it's a reference guide only... the stuff that's part of the reward chain should marked in some way though... haven't really checked in a while...
