  3. That is amazing. I have just one word to say... damn!
  4. Random items GONE

Yeah well you might want to recline your edges when you start. When you did it, some red boxes should appear to frame your city. That is what is going to be changed. Anything in those red boxes will be deystroyed.
  5. Our Own Region with Different Views

Yeah, you have the right to post as many pictures as you want in one post! And what is the real meaning of this topic?
  6. Disappearing Commuters

hum... Wow, now you are connecting two cites in a region by what means of transportation? And maybe your sims are working the night shift. edit: Made my 100th post here!!
  7. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

    No one knows?
  8. Why did Maxis abandon SC?

Well, maybe EA is so busy with all this other stuff that they just wanted to put something out on the market. I mean look at Sim City DS, that was a decent game, and I think that with EA being where it is, they just released a whole lot of games, and well like all these other companies, they have huge ideas, but not all "modern" computers can handle it. So really who is the head of sim city and or did maxis put the idea for sale, and just take all of the credit. I am confused right now.

They do depend on oil to an extent, but not nearly as much as the rest of the Middle East. According to The Compendium of the World's Knowledge, the UAE (United Arab Emirates, the nation where Dubai is) has the third-largest non-oil GDP in the Arab World, behind Egypt and Morocco. And yes, much of their money does come from tourism, but the UAE, and especially Dubai, has become a center for international finance and business for the Middle East. That being said, I do think many of their projects are quite wasteful and unnecessary. These rotating buildings are just ridiculous ways of showing off their money. And while I don't object to showing off one's money per se, shifting skyscrapers is just plain ridiculous.quote> Have you ever come to the point that the people of Dubai are Show-offy jerks?

No one knows where I can find these signs?
  11. Sim City Aviation Group: REQUESTS

I have a request, can I join the aviation club? PM me if you can regarding the answer. Thanks.
  12. SimCity Aviation Group

Hello everyone. I have a question, can I join this Aviation club? I would like to, and it seems like a pretty decent club. So may I join?
  13. Are There regions in 'City Life'?

I have played SC3000, SC3000 UNLIMITED, and SC4. Honestly, I will say that in SC4, you have to build your own ragion from the ground up. There arn't pre-made cities that you can just install the game and then boom, you just load a city, and it's already started for you. That's the downside to SC4, but SC3000 and SC3000 UNLIMITED both have simple transportation networks. And if you have played SimCity DS, that has even simpiler transportation netwroks, and is just a downgrade from SC3000. And SCDS was releaced around the same time SCS was released. One a decent game, one a terrible game. But the regional play has some good sides. You can make one part of you city your landfill area, one your industial area, and so one. And in SC4, pollution doesn't travel between cities, which is also good. So all and all, regions have some good and bad sides to them. You just have to know both sides of regions.
  14. Driving mode

Honetly, I think that it's cool, but I can go without it. So I would like to have it in the game, but I'm alright without it.
  15. Revolving Skyscrapers

You notice that they need the tourism so they can survive. Okay oil is Dubai's main export! Once they oil is all gone, their broke unless they increase tourism so that they can have money comming in from a source that may never run out. If their city looks so cool or modern or tropical, etc. than people would want to go there. Its that simple, but some others don't get it. This building is an original, and thats what matters. If its a first, that its better than any building that is the same or slightly diffrent to the original that follows it. It's that simple.
  16. Revolving Skyscrapers

Dubai is slowly running out of it's main export, oil/natural gas. That export brings a lot money to the country. But now, they are running out of it, so now they want to build enormous buildings, man-made islands, a giant ski resort, a giant mall, water front hotels and apartments, and islands that look a lot like the seven continents. And now rotating buildings. Dubai wants to increase tourisum but a whole lot, and so thats why they created these huge buildidngs and man-made islands and all those other things to make people want to come and see how cool and neat and so on and so forth about their country. Thy just wanted to say that here in Dubai, you can do everything you want to do. Honestly, I think that its a briliant idea and shows how safe and eco freindly skyscrpaers can be.
  17. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

I am having trouble finding one file. A while ago, Blahdy releaced a big dig sign pack. Now where can I fing this pack. It's not on Simtropolis nor SC4 Devotion. Help PLEASE!
  18. 1st official trailer

Pretty Cool. I have another question though, in SC4, you have UDI ( U (YOU) DRIVE IT) mode ( I think thats what is called) and now the question, does CitesXL have something similar to that? I like the way it expresses independence, and I now wonder if this new game will have something similar. Also, does this have diffrent types of roadway (highway, avenue, road, street, etc.)? I like to create cool looking pieces of transportation, and I'm wondering if this will have some diffrent pieces of roadway. Thanks.
  19. Show us Your Interchanges!

Well, I have been working with RHW, and started to get use to it. I have built a few interchanges (and if someone tells me how to post images here (again)) but for the mean time, I have started to create my own custom Highway signs, but thats hard too... I'll update in a few days and hopefully have an photo of one of my interchanges up.
  20. Okay, I have started to create some custom highway signs off of some downloadable 3d models here on Simtropolis. Unfortunatly, when I go to build the lot, (the sign itself is a prop already) and select the sign to be inserted into the lot, I have a problem. I can see the sign clearly in Lot Editor, but I can't place it so that it would be over the highway. Why? Can someone help me please. Thanks.
  21. Show us Your Interchanges!

The thing about RHW is that you have to use tunnels. It's a big project, adn it takes days to complete. Honestly, though, I have a slight hate for RHW. Its Not the most managable wayto construct a highway, but it serves as a piece of eye candy, and something that can be used. But I think that a lot of the stuff here is good, but you just have to look.
  22. I have been really into this entire project, but have one question. I enjoy detailing my roadways and all, but there is something that I wanted to ask. Okay, I know that there has been a big dig sign pack, but i can't find it. I have all the cmpleted big dig lots and all, but I don't have the signs. So can someone email them to me or tell me where I can download them. Thanks, and the project looks really cool
  23. Originally posted by: dogma555 I guess the NJ Turnpike would be my favorite interstate.. because its such a breath of fresh air compared to all the NYC highways i put up with for years. Outrageous congestion (expect 90 minutes to cross through NJ->NYC at rush hour), potholes galore, and speed limits are way too low. Turnpike is pretty well maintained, trucks and cars are separated, all the roads are constantly being repaired , and traffic is usually flowing very well due to its design. And of course, the views of NYC from the turnpike are outstanding. But ive never been further than Atlantic City and Philly.. so i dont know how these highways stack up to other areas.. but I like the turnpikes design. quote> I would agree. i live in jersey, and the turnpike is nice. not also that, but the expressway (ac) and the parkway. but my favorite is 95, and my most favorite part of 95 is the newark airport (side by side) its cool. but i think that interstate highways aren't going to offer you the best of the best. now if you watch any british car shows, top gear has an episode that is about fiding the best road in europe (if you see or have seen the episode, you would understand why) and i think that the u.s. doesn't have the best "intersates". but the forum is devoded to the dumb interstate highways, adn that well, i made my point! Edit: Well, i wanted to add something. That top picture is 95 AT newark airport. and that yeah, well i live in south jersy, 30 min from philly, and that sometimes, the road are terrible, and sometimes the roads are "good"
