  1. NationStates.net - Simtropolis Region

I hate to say it, especially since we've done pretty good without it, but it might be time to hold real elections for the delegate spot (and maybe one or two vice-delgates) and consolidate power within those nations. At the moment, Audland is barely holding on to the seat, with several nations only one endorsement behind. It has made it difficult for anyone to hold the Delegate position for long in the region, what with everyone endorsing everyone else. I admit, I'm guilty of doing the very same. Just a thought. simzebu: I noticed that, on the map, my nation is still represented by the old flag. I changed it to the current one several months ago. It's not that big of a deal. I just thought I'd mention it. El Burro: Speaking of flags, that's a pretty bad-ass flag you've got there!

Hey Simzebu, you might want to consider expanding the region map when you get the chance, as there are 21 nations in the region, but only 19 spots on the map. CowboySean, if that 100% tax is really eating away at your soul, then go with the third choice. Otherwise, go with the first one. More capitalism might end up having a greater effect on your nation's economy in the long run.

Sounds like you got it all figured out, Simzebu. It provides for a wide range of climate areas in the region. Surprising enough, if this land really existed, it would be very much like you described it. Especially the Gulf. I'm sure a branch of the North Atlantic current would split off and enter the Gulf to warm it. I'd place it's temperatures around the range of the northern Gulf of Mexico (maybe a little lower). I would also suggest considering the Rio Seguin Delta in Met. Houston as a major city in the area. It's the major seaport on one of the longest rivers in the region.

Great map, but you need to upload the config.bmp file.

Simtropolis Region Map I've still gotta pick a spot for my Capital, most likely the Eastern Coast and some one can add a few more rivers in if they like. I've added a few large lakes to help in the process.quote> Looks great man! Very realistic!

Hey simzebu, I think I found a discrepancy in the map. If you look at Foxenburg, the river that is supposed to flow south into Schnabo stops at the border. I think it used to be a branch off of my major river (I wouldn't be opposed to it being re-connected to my river either). Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. I posted this over in the NS forum too. p.s. - sorry for the double post.

They released an updated version (UDI and civic compatible) on SC4Devotion's LEX some time ago. Those underpasses would work nicely.
  10. HSRP - The End for now

I voted "other". Here is why. Why can't you do both? You could make the underpasses draggable, and do puzzle pieces for the overpasses.
  11. High Speed Rail Project

I vote a resounding YES for ground HSR.
  12. SCREWSTON, TX

It's looking great! A lot like the real Houston, which brings me to my question: are you planning to builld the METRORail as well? If you do, I would suggest building not only the Main St. line, but also the lines they are about to start construction on. You can find more info. about those corridors here: http://metrosolutions.org/go/site/1068/

  14. Shmails GLR Avenue Station 1

This is a great addition to the GLR-on-Avenue set. Just one question: do you think you could create a version that doesn't double as a bus stop? I ask because my sims refuse to ride the GLR, opting to go from one station to another on the same track by bus.

Actually, E.J.C., his representation of Downtown Houston is pretty accurate. The taller buildings of downtown generally line Main St. (the avenue that runs throught his city) with a few exceptions. You'll find that Houston doesn't easily fit into categories like those you suggested. And LilFlipper hasn't even gotten to the more unique aspect of Houston's business districts yet. Those of us from Houston know what I'm talking about.

The transportation map looks incredible! I can't wait to see how you fill in around it (residential, commercial, industrial). Are you planning to develop further out beyond the 610 loop?
  17. SCREWSTON, TX

Looks good so far. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the coming weeks.

Most impressive. The greenery on the rooftop was a nice touch.

Sorry for the double post. Amerikaner, have you joined the region over on NationStates yet? I just looked at it and your nation wasn't there yet.
