  1. Something bad, after scrolling here and there, watching videos and staring at pictures for a couple of minutes: Cities size. The cities size they showed are not highway, regional trains and any mass transport friendly. I mean... That's so... unrealistic and small. As many said, SC4 was not so realistic, had its share of unrealism and we could handle that easily 'cause it was, worst case, irrelevant. We could build fair highways that go here from there in a fair scale. But, well, 1 or 2 kilometer city with skyscrapers (!!!), I mean... a road is just fine. Well, I'm just disappointed over the cities showed in pictures and videos (I mean... These are "close-to-the-final" result, right?), and it seems a big problem for me. So I just said that 'cause I highly agree to Maarten, with this: Blargh, I don't want to be another pain in the ass complainer, "EA is evil", "This game will suck", "Blah blah blah", but... I don't see how a whole community that got disappointed to SimCity Societies will be satisfied with SC2013, if they give us what they showed 'till now. Small skyscraper city with no spreads and poorly terraformed region - I'll play City Life or SCS instead! It's not pessimism, it's just what it comes to mind after thinking a lil' bit. I totally support the optimistic guys, but my impressions tell me that one year from now we'll be just saying "how this game was disappointing", "how it commercially failed", and blah blah blah. Well, hope Our Lady of City Building Games look at our early disappointment and perform a miracle...
  2. As my experience with small cities says, never expect tons of cash coming in every month - small towns are, best case, low profitable or self sustainable. Try perhaps, building separate urban areas in a L map (it gives you money to mantain very small villages that are virtually impossible). Use very low cost civics - you can download such - or, even better, keep their budget on low levels. You can easily distract yourself and keep a large school/clinic ratio on a three or four blocks town, and thats a waste. Prefer low cost water tower or culverts. Prefer 1x1 lots: they will fit better on a small town and will let you space enough to keep a population paying taxes. At last, prefer small energy generators, or a medium sized one. Dont neglect small industries! Or perhaps bigger ones... small cities can hold one or two big sized company, why not? Hope this helps! You can find such small stuff (low cost civics and utilities) to download here at STEX, generally target as rural clinic, rural school etc.
  3. Calora | Marcillera Mornings

Loved those mediterranenan bldngs, they look so nice!
  4. Extra Hipermercado

Not 100%, but will make my lusophone region even more realistic! Valeu cara,
  5. Update 4 | COFR

I confess I've got serious problems with vanilla content, BUT everything you made is looking so great! One of my childhood dreams was living on an island like this, on the middle of the ocean... Congrats, I'll be checking for new updates.
  6. Flying away | Leaving Bormeleo

Liked your CJ... Just one point, that I found it's been missing in some pics : you should get slope mod. And I must also say that, oh, we need another mediterranean bldngs pack! There's a terrible lack of mediterranean bats, everybody seems to have this one. Anyway, they fit very well in your region and you used them in a great way! BTW, your CJ deserves, at least, a 4/5, not a 3/5, that's unfair LOL ^^
  7. Clean Coal Power Plant

Great model, looks modern and I bet it fits very well in any city ! Thanks a lot!
  8. Sim city 4 and CAM

Great stuff, but prettty confuse for people like me that never got in touch with modding. Anyway I'll give it a try and explore a little, let's see.
  9. Sim city 4 and CAM

Good to see this little thread around. I've been thinking of it and my biggest question was : how to CAMify my lots (for personal use, of course)? What do I exactly need to change about residents number ? I couldn't see any explanation, and I got really interested on learning or even helping with the CAMifying projects (yes, I'm a LEX user ^^).
  10. MX Soriana

great for suburb stores and such... thanks ^^

  13. The end

I'm here to say that this CJ is over. For technical problems (a new PC and not so much effort on copying files), I've got no way to carry on with this CJ. Although, I'm not sad or disappointed - it's obviously a short CJ, but it made me proud and happy for seeing how much I could do with SC4. I hope you liked it and for the ones who don't know Les Cascades yet, there's 14 pages of an interesting region - or I do think so... LOL. Please, enjoy. I'll probably be back someday with a new CJ. Wait and you will see. Thanks buddies, F.

Believe they are part of the CAM Residentials. BTW, they are SimGoober's residential homes, use that parameters to search, it's probably easy to find in LEX at least. No idea if they are availabe at STEX.
