Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
Ryan B replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Originally posted by: Need4Camaro This project is great, however; I would like to add that The MIS and RHW still needs a bit more flexability. Here's the constricting issues I've run into... When you launch an MIS Exit Ramp, bend it away from the Highway, then turn it completely Perpendicular to the highway, and then try to bend it back toward the diagnal angle, it turns into a standard RHW-2... There are interchanges in real life that require the ramp to run perpendicular for a moment due to space issues around loop around ramps and outside obstructures... The MIS Ramp needs to beable to curve at the same frequency as a one way road otherwise looparound ramps attain a large bulky feel to them... Currently Oneway roads can have much tighter curves - What I mean is to beable to have the 90 smoothe Degree curves while going diagnal... I'll post a photo if anyone needs better caption... MIS needs to beable to change into a oneway road or Avenue and it also needs to have traffic lamps at its intersections... Most freeways have traffic lamps on the top or bottom of their on/offramps where they intersect the road... It's a nice introduction but I still feel it's very... ...loose so to speak... quote> The RHW is (and I suspect always will be) a work-in-progress. We're working on adding more options and flexibility, don't you worry. What I can't say is when y'all will see the fruits of our efforts. We like to surprise people. One of our mottos is also "Fucntionality first, cosmetics later." Simply put, we're going to make sure it works before we make sure it looks good. Once again, I must ask the community for patience. Let us do our jobs. If we keep hearing pressure (ex. "Will this be in it? How about this?", and "This is good, but it needs more", etc.), then it'll take us longer to add the features, and the release (whenever it will be) will be delayed. Be sure to check out the RHW Development Thread over at SC4Devotion for the latest updates & information. Thank you!- 3,919 Replies

Operation Buffalo Wing: A Blizzard of BAT

sargeantcm: Abso-bloody-lutely! When do you need it by? EDIT: I have the perfect idea - how about a tight-in screenshot (day / night ) of HSBC Arena & its surroundings? I can do the parking lot, the surrounding streets, and the NFTA MetroRail line. Get back to me and let me know how it sounds! -

* pokes head inside * Wow, I haven't been around here in a while. I guess RL and other SC4-related stuff caught up to me. Is the root beer still as good as it was last time? It's been an interesting past few months. I juggle working at my local library & a long-distance relationship (she lives in Buffalo; I live almost 50 miles / one hour away), and SC4 stuff (o'course). The distance isn't having any adverse effects yet - we'll be celebrating one year together on the 28th of this month. * sigh * I will have to make a point of dropping in here more often again. I hope everyone is well! -

*Spoiler* SimCity Socities Game Cover and Release Date
Ryan B replied to Twister_Chaser's topic in City-Building Games
Folks, I was looking around the Best Buy at the Walden Galleria in Buffalo, NY, and I saw this: -
Good to see another attempt at Buffalo! Being from the WNY area (and frequenting Buffalo), I can make highway signs for you if you'd like.

A Chuck Norris pizza with extra roundhouse kicks.

Looks like it's time to reclaim my seat in the stands here. *sits down and cracks a root beer* Good to see ya back, Sarge! -
I'm hoping there might be an answer to my woes laying around somewhere in the minds of the ST population, so here goes: I download the Plugin Manager from the official SC4 website. I put it in my 'Program Files\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps' folder, and run it. When I click on 'Refresh', to get my SC4MODEL files in the window, I see a window that pops up and says: 'Properties.XML Error'. I click on the 'Help' tab, and it says 'Corrupted plug-in!' What in the world is going on, and how do I fix this? I feel like someone set me up the bomb here, and all my base are belong to them.

I have been working on some new traffic signals for SC4, modeled after what the Texas Department of Transportation uses: They won't be animated, but I'd like to see them in-game. I am going to do my best to see if I can get these in-game. EDIT: For those of you who can't see the picture, just hit the 'Quote' button (you aren't obligated to actually reply) in order to see the picture.

Looks good to me! I would venture that ST was created prior to the date you have listed on there. For proof, look at the date I joined: 11 January 2003. EDIT: Serves me for not reading.

abcvs: Congratulations on the new job! As far as work for me goes, I'm a clerk at the local community library. Loads of fun. -

My two favourite soft drinks are root beer and Dr. Pepper. A chocolate milkshake with some malt powder in there is pretty darned good as well.

I don't remember much about the earlier days of ST . . . . but I do remember: Making friends and collaborating on projects that make the game better. The chat room being a lot funnier than it is in recent weeks. (Me, the ST Chat Meteorologist . . . . . "CLONE WARNING", anyone? ) If there's one thing I wish could change, I'd wish that the recent animosity between BAT teams, between websites and such, and the recent SCS debacle would go away. But that's just me . . . I've been here for over 4 1/2 years. I've seen a lot. I'm primed to see a lot more.

N_O_Body: All this recent talk of Latin-esque here in the Moose Factory has me wishing I had been able to take it in high school. I would also like to learn Russian, German, and at least one of the Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, etc.)
