  2. Thank you for your responses. To clear some things up, the survey does not assume people go to the beach everyday. Rather, it is when you DO go to the beach, doesn't matter if it's once a year. If you never go to the beach, than this survey does not apply to you. The zip/postal code survey is meant to get an idea of general location and possible surrounding beaches. I understand that people may live somewhere and go to beaches somewhere entirely different, but it's just to get an idea. For the type of service i'm thinking of providing, knowing if people go to the beach in the evening after 4:00 PM is irrelevant. For the most part, it is unlawful to sell alcoholic beverages directly on the beach in the US. Also, a lot of people don't stop going to the beach after middle school. The beach isn't just for building sandcastles! Plenty of people go to get a tan, take a swim in the ocean, or just relax. It just depends on where you are from and your preferences. I have gotten plenty of responses from other sources which better represent my target market, i now see that perhaps this forum was not the best place to ask for this survey but I value your feedback and responses.     Im not sure how many of you have played Airport Tycoon 3, be it many of view, or onyl a handful. Nevertheless all those who have know how buggy and over all messed up the game is in terms of gameplay and such. I think the concept of the game is awesome and if it actually worked properly, it would have been a very succesful game IMO. Anyway I am starting up a forum for an Airport Tycoon 3 Community. I have 3 goals that I want to accomplish with these forums: 1. Create an Airport Tycoon 3 Community: because one rarely exists, and the only one that I know of is German. Essentially we need an English one, which I made 2. Attempt to fix everything or anything Global Star Software messed up or left out. So far we now they left out many things that the manual clearly states the game has, yet in reality they did not put in such as Jetways. 3. Further mod the game to make it simply better. So far I know of 1 mod that allows you to change the Airlines, Airplanes, Fueling and Catering Services, Hotels, Gas Stations, and Terminal Businesses to real life counterparts. Thus instead of having generic airlines such as East Jet and Tunis Air, you actually get real airlines such as Qatar Airlines, Lufthansa, etc. Two versions were made: A European version and an Asian version. Hopefully there are a couple of you out there who are like me in wanting to fix this game.     Just to get the subject rolling again on Simtropolis, the forum is still active, and membership has grown quite a bit. We have some mods that fix some basic things, but its definitely not dead. People who can really hack into the files and people who know about programming and such!

    Hey GlobexCo, love what your doing, great work! I have a request that doesnt really have to do with the game, but with installing your unlocker mod. What if you were to create an installer for your mod where you can decide which unlockables you want to add to the game. For example, what if i want to add the medieval pack, but not the trains. A great example of this is the NAM installer for SC4 where you can decide what exactly you want and dont want to install. I think this would be very helpful, especially since there are so many things to unlock and some peopel may not want to clutter their menus with absolutely everything thats possible to unlock. Just a suggestion

    Is there anyway to make new types of bridges? Yes I know new buildings arent possible yet but for now at least be able to build any "bridge (or tunnel) model" with any type of road? For example, as of now the only type of bridge you can build with the freeways is the golden gate, but what if i want to build a small metal bridge such as with the small avenue that doesnt necessarily span such a great distance? Also the street and small roads have a nice "rural" (for lack of a better word) tunnel entrance that i might want to use with my larger avenues but when i build those tunnels I only get those awkard white squares for tunnel entrances. It would be greaat if we could get new textures for tunnel entrances, bridges, what ever is possible to do at this point.

Im finally going to start downloading some Mods for Cities XL but I have a question regarding their installation: Would it cause problems if I create a "Mods" folder within the pak folder so that when I want to go back and remove a mod if necessary i dont risk deleting MC files by mistake? This would make it so much easier to manage the mods, but i dont know if this causes crashes. Has anyone tried this?

    Yes the forum is still up and running and it is starting to do a lot better than a month before. We have grown to 37 members and there is more activity on the boards.     What do you exactly mean by opening up refueling and catering contracts? Refueling and Catering contracts come automatically based on your airport rating and happiness, so to get better contracts, you must raise ratings. Maybe you mean something else....? P.S.     That game being Airport Tycoon 3. I'm the same guy who started up an Airport tycoon 3 Forum here: http://www.hostingphpbb.com/forum/?mforum=apt3 My goal was to mod the game to make it better, that's what mods do right? But I am very inexperienced, and up till now, none of the members are modders so I am calling out for help! I know enough to tell you what the file formats are for the game and such, but I'm not sure on how to tap into them to fix the game. Is there anyone who is willing to help, at least in teaching us how to mod the game? It would be greatly appreciated by all of us, and hey maybe you may even like the game and help mod the game!

    Well so far thats all we have but I delved deeper within those files and found the actual model files and property files. The thing is the models are in .dff format and there is a very limited amount of programs that can handle that format. I know Zmodeler does, but it is geared more towards GTA modding, not Airport Tycoon and I 'm pretty sure they are not compatible. So if any one is good with programing and such we need either a program that we can use to create or edit .dff models or a plugin for an already existing program like gmax? We just need people who are experienced in getting deep into game files and being able to mod them such as with the NAM in SimCity.

    Um its been about a month and there are a total of 9 members, but I am pretty much the only one posting anything on the forums. And so far, I am the only one trying to figure out the internal components of the game and trying to mod it but its hard when there is little help. I guess the biggest challenge is to make the members active in the community because so far I feel like im the only member. But these things take time and hopefully things will turn around. Good luck with your attempts also!

    Thanks for expressing interest. Yeah that's exactly what im trying to do. Create a community for APT 3 fans so that we can fix and mod the hell out of the game to make it work. Hopefully it catches on!
  20. Tram Questions

    I recently downloaded VDK GLR Tram Mods Package Vol 01 off of SC4Devotion and I gotta say im loving the new skins. However, I cant help noticing that once in the game my tram engines are attatched to a generic group of cars, instead of that individual engines skin. I dunno if this was intended, but I remember reading in the readme that the trams would be individual, as in no cars behind them, which is what I really want. Attatched are some pictures for better clarification. If you notice, im getting a variety of different engines, but their cars are all the same. Has anyone had this issue? Can it be resolved?

    You know what, thats exactly it. Thanks a lot. Yeah I had a train skin modd installed which included skins for subways and el-rail, but i didnt even think of looking there. Now my trams are various skinned, single unit cars, which is what I wanted. Again thanks a lot.

    Ok but how do I do that, because I dont think I have any el-rail skins installed. I'm going to have to check. As far as I know the pack i mentioned above is the only skin mod for trams or el-rail i have installed.
