Clearing my cookies has done nothing to solve the problem. Only did what I expected it to do, require me to log into everything again.
  2. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

I still can't access anything in the STEX. Everything in the middle is unclickable, aka, all the downloads. I can see them, but I can't access them. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and using Firefox 3.6.3
  3. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

I'm still experiencing a problem with the STEX. Everything down the middle is unclickable. Luckily, I can browse the STEX with Chrome, so I'm not completely cut off. I'm using Firefox 3.5.6
  4. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

I just want to say that Windows 7 is far better then Windows Vista. But I upgraded to Firefox 5.2.3, and I'm still having the problem with the STEX. T Wrecks, what's your OS?
  5. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

Yes, I believe that's the problem I'm having too. Though I'm not using Opera. I'm currently using Firefox 3.5.2. I'm also using Windows 7, if that changes anything. Oh, and I have a 64bit system.
  6. The ST 6.0 Department of Technical Affairs

I'm fairly sure this has been reported, but in the ST Exchange, as soon as the bottom bar shows up, I can't click anything in the center (aka, the items in the STExchange). If this has been reported already, don't kill me!!
  7. Solution to the left/right driving issue

I've made an installer that patches your copy of SimCity 4. Just download, run, and you've got cars running on the right side of the road. This works with both x86 (32bit) and x64 (64bit) computers. www.parnasas.com/BenRK_Games/SC4_RSC.exe
  8. Slower Sim City?

Hey, I recently got a new, game worthy computer. While my older computer could play Sim City 4 just fine, it seems that my new computer is having a harder time with it then my old computer was, even though it's better then it in every way. Is there any way to fix this, or is this just me? Old computer specs: 2.2GHz P4 40gig HD 1gig RAM nVidia GeForce 5500 256MB VRAM New computer specs: 2.7 GHZ AMD Athlon X2 (dual core) 500gig HD 4gig RAM ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4
  9. Slower Sim City?

Yeah, you got it backwards. Running it in software mode speeds it up to how fast I'd think it should go, and doesn't look bad at all. Thanks for the help. As for me picking ATI, I picked it cause I was on a budget and wanted more bang for the buck. No question that their cards are more powerfull, but budget ruled the outcome of my computer, and I think I did VERY well for under $400. ;-)
  10. New Landings

Here is the prologue for a story of mine. (Using SimCity 4, and TheSims. For SimCity 4, I have the NAM as well as some custom lots made by other people. If you see one, please point it out and tell me who made it, so I can give proper credit. I'm also using lots made by me to get effects I want. As for the Sims, I have no custom content for those. Oh, and SimCity 4 and TheSims is owned by Maxis bla bla bla. Let the story begin!) I didn't need to read further. Throwing the news paper aside, I knew that I had to leave the country before it was to late.
  11. New Landings

Heh. I found my original script for this. I'm going to have to do some serious re-thinking of the later chapters! Well, once I get that done, I'll get chapter 5 out of the way. Now, where were all my resources?
  12. New Landings

Well, after a long... well, not really doing anything, I think I may pick up New Landings again. However, The Sims has since stopped working on my computer, so I can't get people shots, unless I get The Sims 2, but such is not likely, as my computer sucks. I could just start over with a new story. Any thoughts/suggestions on the matter?
  13. Transportation Map Modd For Color Blind

Could you make it a zip? I want to use this, but I can't open .rar files.
  14. New Landings

Thank you for your replies, and sorry for such slow updates. I might be able to get chapter 5 in tomorrow, but no guaranties, as I have other, unrelated projects that are nearing their dead line (and said projects are what kept me from updating sooner). Again, thanks for the comments.
  15. New Landings

Thank you, thank you. I would like suggestions on how to improve the story. Not so much the story line, but my writing style. I haven't got the best comments in that department (elsewhere in this great big internet of ours), and yet, no one can seem to tell me how to improve it.

Chapter 4, Consequence I was part of a search party. What we were searching for, I didn’t know at first. All they did was tell me to get them if I found anything. The group searched for hours as the helicopter hovered above us. The search lasted well into the night until we were called back into the helicopter. I asked what we were searching for again, and the leader told me. We were looking for the remains of the missile that had hit the island. They told me that they first thought it was the island planning to strike back, but they soon figured that it was either a deliberate attack or a misfire. We started back for the town, discussing a different search pattern that we would use tomorrow. After a few minutes of conversation about if remains of the missile even existed, the pilot informed us of something that made my stomach fall. The town was under attack. But who was attacking? The leader told the pilot to return to the base. As we got closer to the town, cannon shots could be heard. Then, a loud shot could be heard. We were hit. Many of us were thrown from our seats, some of us the seats went with us. I couldn’t tell what was going on, but as soon as it began, it ended in a crash. I must have been knocked out once the helicopter crashed, because the next thing I knew, I was on the ground, badly hurt. I knew I wasn’t far from town, I could see some of the farm land and the cannon shots were not to quiet. I got up as best as I could, but almost fell down right away. I had a broken leg and a broken collar bone. In pain, I started back for town as best as I could. It was slow, and I didn’t get far from the crash site when I was approached by several dark figures. (--Some where in the mountains of Timber--) Hello. My team and I had escaped from the capitol shortly after the first missiles hit, but we kept working for the capitol as best as we could. Oh, I’m sorry, I’m afraid I never introduced my self. My name is Thomas Gardner. I am a scientist working the best I can for Timber, or at least what’s left of it. Only a few of us made it to this place. It was old, and everything here was out of date, but it protected us from the war and the radiation. I can remember the day we evacuated too well. Metro City had been under attack shortly after I got to work that morning and we had begun to evacuate. It was shortly after we reached the mountains that the city was nuked. How many people were still there when it hit? I try not to think about it. Even once we got to this place, the smoke from the nuke and the fires could still be seen. How many had got out? How many were still alive? To this day, I still don’t know. We survived. That’s all I knew about the war. Who was winning? Was the war over? We had no way of finding out. All we could do was what we used to do, and that was research. And that’s what I was doing, until I got an unusual reading from the weather instruments. It was snowing. It’s rare for it to snow during the summer, even rarer for it to do so in warm regions. But that’s what it was doing. I feared the worst, and after looking at the weather data for the past few months of the area and other areas with similar installations, my fears were confirmed. Nuclear winter has begun. To be continued...
  17. Hospitals Pack

Don't make it rar! I was so excited until I realized that I couldn't download it.
  18. New Landings

Ok, I did a little "experiment" and found that jpg files were even easier for me to use while loosing a small amount of detail that isn't even noticeable. So I went out of my way to convert all the images from png to jpg (except the newspaper in the prologue). I hope that makes it easier on you guys as well. I will be using jpg Oh, and there is a size limit, but I haven't passed it on any pictures. Anyway, thanks for the comments.
  19. New Landings

First off, I would like to say sorry for getting chapter 3 out so late. I'm currently in a game design contest, so I won't be getting chapters out as fast until the end of August. Second, I'm not going to change the images into a different format. PNG works for me. I recommend downloading or updating to a more modern web browser. Though if I get a reason beyond an out-of-date web browser (a good reason too), I might do so in the future. Oh, and I recently got SimCity3000 Unlimited. I only wish that SimCity 4 had scenarios and that it was that easy to design buildings for SimCity 4 like how it is for SC3KU. Anyway, on to chapter 3. Chapter 3, Capture It was nuclear. It had hit the other side of the island, and I hoped the mountain would protect us. I didn’t know that there would be indirect consequences of the blast. We couldn’t go out and search the area the missile hit. All we could do is continue our current lives as normal. Several days passed before something happened. I was working out in the field when it did. I first heard the sound. I thought it was just a boat out in the distance. That is, until I looked up. What did they want? I didn’t know at the time. I hoped that they would pass on, but I was wrong. We were their target, but why were they not bombing the island? They had landed on the outskirts of the town, and being the town’s de-facto leader, I walked out to greet them. They were not interested in greeting me though. They asked me who I was. I replied, saying I was James Leway. A moment later, I knew I had made a mistake. They grabbed me and knocked me out. I woke up. I didn’t know how long I was out, but I knew I wasn’t where I used to be. I looked around. I was in a makeshift jail cell. Several soldiers were out side. I asked where I was, but they didn’t give me an answer. They asked me if this was New Landings. I nodded. I eventually gave up asking them questions, as they would never answer, but they kept asking me. They asked several things, like how that nuclear blast occurred and how long the town had been there. I answered all the questions as best I could. I did learn something through their questions. It wasn’t them that attacked us with the missile, and they were on a campaign to take control of the safe islands. But I still didn’t know which side they were on. They took several more prisoners over the course of several weeks, all of which I recognized. Through them, I learned that the town had been taken over, a new military base built. I also learned that no one was being killed by them and were allowed to continue with their island lives. Even so, martial law had been enforced, and a series of check points had been set up through out the entire town. Were they expecting us to defend our selves? We had no weapons to fight with and we were greatly out numbered. It was a few more weeks before I was talked to again by a soldier. She had opened my cell and I was told to follow. She led me to their leader, and I was asked to accompany them somewhere. I agreed, wanting to get out of that cell. I had no idea where we were going until I was in the chopper and they shoved a radiation suit at me. To be continued...
  20. New Landings

That will be explained in Chapter 3 and/or later chapters.
  21. New Landings

To everyone. Thanks for the replies. I thought I would receive more negative than positive replies to this, seeing as how new I am here (posting wise). Again, thanks for the replies. Expect Chapter 3 in a day or so.
  22. New Landings

Chapter 2, Reality It was several days before we saw anyone else alive. Many dead bodies had washed up on the beaches. We didn’t know how they died, nor did we want to know. It wasn’t long though before more people made it to the island, all in hopes to escape the war, to survive it. We started to build more homes, more farms. People brought their skills to the island, and in time, some small shops started to pop up. It was good to have some part of what we left behind to come with us, as most of us on the island had grown up with cars, computers, TVs, the list goes on. Less people had arrived by mishap, and more were arriving by boat. We learned from them that many people had escaped the war, and many, just like us, had found their way to islands, starting up small towns. We knew that with the knowledge of these island towns, more people would want to go there. We welcomed these people, building a marina for them to dock their boats. Also, because of this news, everyone from the town came together, finally deciding on a name for this island of ours. New Landings. With more and more people coming to New Landings, bigger houses were made for those who could afford it and wanted it. Some of us had grown accustomed to our new way of life, my self included. I worked on the farms, growing food for the island. What I am about to tell you happened two days ago. We had been living peacefully on New Landings, several times; I forgot that there was a war out there. It was during our usual scouting for new ships that we saw a fishing boat. It reminded me of the one I saw when getting out of Metro city. This struck up a curiosity. When we got closer, we realized that this boat had no people on it, at least, not on deck. We towed it to the marina and searched it there. This had been the first time I had seen a dead body in several months. But they couldn’t have drowned, and they had ways of getting food. There were no injuries on any of them that suggested mutiny. We did find someone alive, but only barely. We had no hospitals on the island, but we did have a doctor. He had concluded that the man was suffering from radiation poisoning and only had a few hours to live. I brought him to my house, feeling I had a responsibility to make him as comfortable as possible in his final hours. In those hours, he told me news about the war. Every major city in the entire world had been destroyed beyond recognition turning several into major battle fields instead. The war was also a nuclear war. This answered my fears, and I wondered where I would be if I hadn’t got away that day. The man died yesterday. We buried him in the graveyard on New Landings along with all the people on the fishing boat. None of us knew any of their names, but we each felt sorry for each and every one of them. And we started to walk home. Questions were still running through my head. Who were they? Was Timber still there? How long would this war last? I didn’t know if I would ever get those questions answered. I looked idly into the sky and my stomach fell. I hoped it wasn’t nuclear. This time, I was wrong. To be continued...
  23. New Landings

Chapter 1, Escape I feel you have the right to know who I am. My name is James Leway. I've been living at New Landings for a year or so now, but I'm getting ahead of my self. Before the war, I was living peacefully in my home in the suburbs of Metro City. Metro City is the capital city of Timber. I was the owner of the local country club. Boy, did that rake in the money. I was living the Sim Dream. That is, until I woke up one morning. I could tell as soon as I woke up that something was wrong. The town didn't sound the same as it usually did. Instead of the happy sound of children playing at the nearby school, there was silence. I looked out my window. The school looked empty. Was today a weekend? No, it was Wednesday. What was going on? I got dressed for the day and walked out side. My usual neighbors were not up and about doing their usual morning gardening or letting their pets out side. I was getting an odd feeling by now. I picked up my daily newspaper and walked inside. Where was everyone? Sitting down at my table, I started to read. I didn't need to read further. Throwing the news paper aside, I knew that I had to leave the country before it was to late. Was this what everyone had done? Was that why there was no one here? I didn't bother to pack. What was my TV worth compared to my life? I simply ran out to my car and pulled out of the driveway. There were some people still on my street evacuating. Where were they going to go? The airport in Metro City? That was to far away, and the city could be hit at any time. I couldn't go that way. I had to head to the marina. That was closer and I had a boat there that I could take. As I drove down the street, it was getting harder and harder to avoid people. I had to serve out of the way several times to avoid a collision. My street had obviously been one of the few streets that had evacuated early. And then... I had looked away for one second, making sure I had fully passed someone when a car in the other lane crashed right into mine. Thankfully, it was only our cars that were destroyed. The person I crashed into got out of their car and helped me out of my burning one. I thanked him. He told me he was trying to get to his family and get out of the city. I told him it would take to long to get to the airport and I offered him a ride in my boat. He agreed. We ran down the street to where his house was. He had a wife and 2 children. After they packed a few things we started to run down the street. The Marina wasn't far from where we crashed. We finally reached the marina, but I couldn't find my boat. I knew what had happened. Some one had stolen it to get out of the city. I spotted a speed boat, me and the other guy started rushing everyone onto it. We started it up and drove it out of the marina. I heard something loud and we all looked up. I hoped it wasn't nuclear. The missile struck. It wasn't nuclear, but I feared for those people who lived where it landed. I drove the boat as fast as I could. There were few other boats out in the water, but the ones that were out were either those trying to escape, or those trying to take the boats of the people escaping, trying to escape them selves. There were people on a fishing boat being captured by others. We couldn't stop to help them as we had no way to fight back. We hoped they would be ok and we drove on. But someone had spotted us and started driving towards us. We tried to get away, but it was to late. They drove right at us and our boats collided. Every one of us was out in the cold dark water now, holding onto parts of the boat for their lives. I don't know how long we were out on the water, but we were able to make a crude raft from the remains of the two boats and we drifted out into the sea. I do know that we were out there for days, for we were hungry and tired by the time we spotted land. We couldn't tell at first if it was just our minds playing tricks on us, but we eventually landed on the shore. We eventually found that this was an island and that nothing but trees and a few animals lived here. But it was land, and we started to build a home for our selves. We started a farm to grow our own food and built a windmill to give our house power. We were five people on a small island, unaware at how much the world was destroying it self. That is, until recently. To be continued... (Note, I am using cheats, as I'm telling a story, not showing how I would make a city, such as money cheats and the oh so famous "you don't deserve it")
  24. New Landings

I realized that after I posted it.
  25. Jake_Lava up to BAT

Hello. This is both my first BAT, as well as my first post on Simtropolis. But this isn't about saying hellos, this is about this BAT I'm working on. I'm designing it to be a floating hospital. Floating in the sense that it's on water, and can only be built on water. Well, this isn't exactly my first BAT, but my first one blew up in my face (didn't texture right for some reason, and was literally floating above the ground), but I was never going to release that one anyway. Anyway, here is a picture of what I've got so far. I think the helicopter pads are a little to big for the building. Anyway, please, give me suggestions, as I would rather not get "flamed" when I post this. Eventually.
