In the U.S. there is another less tangible difference between the streetcars and buses: In many large metropolitan areas, buses carry with them a pretty negative conotation that only the poor or minorities ride them (I am not defending this, just pointing it out) and the movement towards fixed-route transportation options, while more costly to implement, can help to negate this.

29-year-old male from the Detroit, MI area. I work in county government and am currently finishing up my masters degree in Urban Planning with concentrations in economic development and managing growth. I have been playing the Sim City franchise since the original (but was never really able to get into The Sims); my love of the game really was a big factor for me pursuing an education/career in urban planning.

Thanks for the quick response. That seems to make sense and I will give it a try. I placed the individual files that I wanted from the NAM download into the Plugins folder that was already present in the directory where my SC4 is.

I imagine this was probably answered in one of the NAM threads with 4,000+ responses but couldn't find it in there and didn't have the patience to read all the posts... I have downloaded the NAM file to my Mac and have expanded but am running into problems actually installing the DAT files. What program should I be using to open those files? My Mac tries to open them in a Graphic Converter application by default and this doesn't seem correct. I couldn't find anything in the ReadMe Installation Instructions that describe what you should be using to open them. Thanks!
