Well youve all come to the right place. First stop for all of you should be the OmniBus section of the site, the specific sections of the Omnibus would be any dealing with SimCity 4. The O'Bus is where they keep all the articles and helpful stuff. I will start you off by providing a link to a tutorial on using the custom content that you all would like to try out. This is a link to a tutorial by Dirk, the webmaster here at Simtropolis, it has all the info you need, you just have to read it..... https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=147&threadid=76286&enterthread=y Good luck. -G.

Thanks for the replies, cleared up the zoning totally, cleared it all up actually, things are going well. Did a bunch of retro work to my transportation network, mainly rail work, and yes 'Spidey, I am making use of the NAM, along with the CAM, and a couple of other choice mods. As to the NAM, and CAM I still have a bit of sorting to do, as now it seems just too easy, my cities show green up and down every ave&st. I know Im not that good. So far my region(Stock SC4 New York) is 600,000, biggest city seems to have capped out at 350,000. It fluctuates 'tween 330-350,000. Briefly was up to 380,000 at one point but I havent hit that high in a bit ? SO I am now working on that, and developingthe surrounding region more, next biggest city just hit 95,000, so, ways to go. My PC starts getting pretty 'crappalicious'(as in its a POS) around 500,000, but I can still have a bit of fun with this game. Thanks everyone. -G.

Afternoon Simmers, Im not a total newb to SC, but just recently re installed SC4 D.E., and have a couple of questions. #1. First one is in regards to rail stations. which way do you align them, I cannot seem to get them to work, or when they do, it seems different everytime(how the station is placed I mean, in regard to the tracks and roads surrounding it). Is there a 'right' way ? Also in regard to the tracks, does it matter if you make realistic intersections ? i.e. can you just run a crossroads(which would never allow the trains in realif to switch to the other trak), or do you need to lay out a proper intersection ? 2. Bus Stops- Should they, or do they have to be on both sides of major avenues and such ? 3. Zoning- I have been having good success with region play, and I notice that many of the FAQ's and Articles in the O'bus mention zoning for only high density, be it Commercial, Res., or Industry ? But then this morning I noticed one of the most knowledgeable players to my mind, says they never zone more than a certain percentage High Density residential, say 5-10% ? I have been exlusively zoning high dens. Res this morning and so far it seems to be working allright. So if you zone all HDR will LDR still move in ? 4. Dilapitated Buildings ? Should they be 'dozed. What are peoples thoughts on these and abandoned buildings. Seems like destroying them leaves a opening for another busines to take its place ? Is this wrong ? Much thanks to anyone who offers whatever help they may, please feel free to comment etc.. Thanks again, Grais.

Hey Rusty, very nice CJ. Just wanted to drop in to say hello, after seeing the title, I live in Salmon Arm, Revelstoke is about 45 minutes east. Nice City, so much work put into these CJ's. A quick question if I may, how do you get the huge cemetery, or in another CJ there was a very cool looking golf course that fit right in with the coastline, sort of how your cemetary follows the road ? Are these custom one of BATS ? Hope theres another update coming. -G.

Very cool, If I could make one tiny suggestion it would be to spellcheck. It just makes the posts seem ....less intelligent. Very cool CJ tho.

Hey Tarkus, shouldve been more specific I guess, the quote is taken from a FAQ type post here regarding the NAM Pack(Ill have a look and see if I cant link it?). At any rate I think Ive got it sorted now, found some info on the traffic controller plug ins and what not. Thanks all the same. -G.

Hello all, quite new to posting here, but have been a simmer for a while, just reinstalled as I got a bit faster PC so wanted to give SC4 another shot, she sure loves toe RAM this game. Onto my query, in the FAQ for the latest Nam there is this bit of guidance..... If you want realistic commute times, when you download the NAM, select Radical Custom Special from the traffic plugins dropdown menu during installation. Make sure you check this off! Problem is I cannot find this option anywhere, so I was thinking maybe this bit of info is out of date, or perhaps I am looking in the wrong place. There seems to be a whole bevy of Traffic Simulator options, andy further guidance would be greatly appreciated... hope Im not re hashing, I forgot to search it out first...apologies, and thanks. Grais.

Wow, lotta people , far too many for me to read atm, so I'll have to just say hello. Long time SimCity fan got hooked on the old NEC(IIRC)version, recentley got into SC4 Deluxe and have been having a lot of fun learning the region system. The amount of info on this site alone is staggering, and the quality is very high, from what I've read so far, so I shouldnt have too many questions with which I'll be bothering y'all with. I'm from British Columbia, Canada, work in the trades and enjoy a variety of other interests including, Musical pursuits on various instruments, building and flying model aircraft from larger gas RC jobs, to peanut size rubber powered, I particularily love the beauty of the small balsa flyers, designing, and building one up and watching it fly away under its own power(rubber strip) is an awesome feeling. Getting carried away, always happens when I think of the little planes, lol/. So thats a bit about myself, sure enjoy the site, seems to be tops among the lot. All the best for the future, we shall see if I dont get to know a few of the others around here, if ever there's anything I can do just ask. Peace.
