Originally posted by: jeje71 that's really sad it has to come this way, but on the other end i'm really glad the end of the online aspect will ge substance back to solo mode. now i'm really considering buying the game when busses will be added to solo mode and all the descriptions of cities xl 2011 seems to me what should have been cities xl solo mode, that is a really worthy successor to simcity 4. providing MC doesn't go bankrupt in the meantime with this marketing guys attempt to force online on what was essentially a solo concept, the future of this game looks now much more promising.quote> jeje71, please, wait for the 2011 version to be launched. I am very angry with MC becouse I have bought the game and spent a bunch of money in it to have a good time. Now I will have to buy it AGAIN to have the so called benefits from planet offer. Originally posted by: jabezscratch I figured this would happen eventually but not this quickly. The Planet Offer simply isolated and scared off too many potential players.quote> Yep. It really have scared a bunch of people. Originally posted by: IntoxiNation Here's how they can really make solo mode shine: - Enable the ability to trade between your own cities (shouldn't be that bad to do). - Embrace the MOD community more. If people start seeing all these ways they can 'mod' CXL then the will probably end up selling more copies of the game. - Develop some really cool expansion packs. If they came out with one that offered trains and subways I would be willing to pay an extra $20 for it, but I am a train freak. - Create a CXL exchange. People would be able to download cities from other users on there, mods, scripts and anything else. Since these would be totally static files, MC could get buy doing all this on a VPS+CDN. Monthly server costs would be a lot less than they are now. They could probably even bypass that cost by working out a deal with the owners of this site.quote> Hello IntoxiNation, I agree with every aspect you put in your message but for what cost it will me realease for those who boght the game (Limited Box Edition)? This is not fair with those players. Below is the message I sent to Monte Cristo hopping to have, at least, an answer. Hello all from Monte Cristo. I am from Brazil and I was waiting for the launch of CXL since it was annouced. I bought the full version, with a box, and just for transportation fees I paying more than 45 euros. I have bough, as well, 3 months planet offer and I was about to subscribe more 3 months for 15 euros when you rised the prices to heaven. Tha was awful. Now, I am coming back from my vacations and I see that PO is over and I will not have Mega Structures and so many things that I will have to BUY again with CXL 2011 or even a new solo package. Even the commerce will be launched with the new version. For me, in Brazil, the prices was very high. The games cost about R$ 250,00 (in local currency) that here is a very high price for a computer game and now I see that I will have to spend more money to continue the game. Just as a suggestion: lower prices will attract much more consumer for planet offer or, if you can, leave the code for PO offers as public or sold (for a price that can be paid) so some individuals can make a server for the game. I am disapointed with Monte Cristo. Att, NATANIEL KLUG Brazil Edited for inappropriate content. --Liv CXL Forums Moderator

I used it and the farm area as my primary cash generators until I got the high tech and office multiplier buildings. 2. I do. I bulldozed the lower efficiency services when I got the bigger buildings. Health and Police are the easiest to keep high since their buildings are very high efficiency. These are in the 40-60% satisfaction. Leisure is in the low 20s since it appears you can literally pour money into it without much improvement. I felt since they all aggregate focusing on the services that have the highest efficeincy to cost ratio would be most efficient. I still do have some. I haven't touched taxes. My elites were largely placed near +environment landmarks which really helped a lot. High density jobs may actually be the key because taxes scale dramatically not only with the actual businesses but with the resident classes. As an example my population breaks down like this 1 3% 2 27% 3 45% 4 24%. My residential taxes rise dramatically with each class. Elites taxes by themselves cover all my services. Executives taxes about cover my transportation links. In other words high density jobs are multiplicative because they not only generate more tokens and taxes but also supply jobs for more tax producing residents. My traffic is actually pretty good because I focus on putting jobs near execs and elites to keep their traffic ratings up.quote> Hummm... Understood... I have a small town in Pollux server that, for testing purposes, I have been doing much farms (about 90 food tokens). Now I am migrating it to high tech industries but its a pain to work with elites without any holiday areas... I will keep learning till I get more safe about getting into a big city. Congrats on your 7.1million.

Hello all, I am a Sim fanatic and I am playing since the first SimCity (I still love SC2K)... So, buying CXL, was a step in my life... hehehehe... But this is not going where I expect it to go. First: transit is always busy... there is no mass transit to play (bus, train, bigger cars, ufos...). I can't make a city without this. Second: poluition is a pain... There is no easy way to solve polution problems, neither TREES! We don

I have two questions: 1) what are thos builds you made on an island to the west (there are a bunch of the same building lay down the road)? 2) Do you have services like hospitals, schools, leisure and so on? How can you manage this and how is the overall satisfaction with this services? In solo mode this is really dificult to play...

Originally posted by: Psycho_Teddy I've found the need to develop the town with the heavy industry and whatnot, then focus on a restructure of the town. I'm in the process of relocating jobs from heavy industry to high tech and offices. I'm hoping this strategy will work and eliminate a lot of the pollution I'm getting from big oil and industry. I'll report back with my results when it's complete.quote> I have tried this too... no lucky. HT industries need manufactured gods and manufact need heavy industries... in solo mode this way is a dead end. Planet offer I don´t know. Originally posted by: Androv I think citizens will travel anywhere on the map, but if there are major traffic problems they will complain about employment.quote> Yes, they will travel, but how can we solve traffic problems without mass transit system? It is impossible to move 70k people using a avenue or expressway for 160 cars...

pipvac and Androv, I have a similar problem... my business hotels just get about 55% of profit (no mather where I put then). My biggest city has about 300k pop and a bunch of high grade offices (level 4) and only 1 motel in the city that has 55% of profit and it is located near a expressway. Don

There is no easy way to solve polution problems, neither TREES! We don´t have anyway to plant trees... how could that be true!? No one has asked for trees in this game?! Third: How can we satisfies our citizens with education? If we put a school (the first one) one both sides of the city, hoping to make better result on education we will see that there is no change at all on satisfaction. I just can´t believe this is a problem in solo mode. I have a bunch of problems in the game I am not able to solve. Another question is: how many citizens live in a level 4 unqualified workers house?! And how can I say that in that house will only live "unqualified" workers??? Shouldn´t it be measured from education levels that grows? So... SC4 is still a better game in many terms... sad, but true. Att, Nataniel Klug Very disapointed with CXL From Brazil to Simtropolis

I fear building a city with several 100.000's will be next to impossible...quote> This is where a multicored version of the game would help. It is getting slower becouse your CPU usage is getting bigger. GPU is not as much a problem becouse you only have some parts of the city showing at a time. Offcourse a good GPU will make your walking throu the city easy and fast... -

Thank you all for the answers. I am willing to pay for monthly game play but I can't be sure for now... I have placed my pre-order so I will receive my game and hope to play it offline in times that I will have just a few hours per month to play (like now)... Att, Nataniel Klug

So hummer, I am from Brazil and I speak English, Spanish and Brazilian. My mother language is Brazilian that is far different from Portuguese. Let's talk Brazilian: Brazilian: "Aquele moleque adora jogar Sim City, fica horas na frente do computador..." Portuguese: "Aquele puto adora jogar Sim City, fica horas no computador" English: "That boy loves to play Sim City and stay hours in front of computer playing it..." All have the same meaning but "puto" em Brazilian is kind of a bad word (light b.i.t.c.h for man)... hahahahaha... there are many other words like that...
