Custom Demand Ordinances mod
Indisguise replied to BurroDiablo's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
well that the one thing about radical mods....once ya use them, it sometimes imposible to go back to playing the city non cheat with some, their just that radical god bless the turtle for them though...their fun to play with if you bulldoze either ot the "super" flower park ( i like the little green sparkles) or plaza from your city...takes a nose dive quicker into the ground, that a NASA space probe into Mars....boom crash! though once you start playing with them why would ya wanna turn back ...theres no turning back and their great for testing new stuff and you never know what might BE ABLE TO GROW BABY! or not to grow for them famers type mayors ( not sure why you wanna do that, but some do) -
Mass Transit...the use of this will eliminate some of the cars also on the streets...tree and or parks...speacially the flower parks (or any that soak up a lot of pollution) help if your willing to use radical methods there are many super parks and/or mods and modded building that will reduce pollution a bit more , some that even eliminate it altogether, depends what your willing to do personelly to eliminate the pollution. Ralphealninja's Radical ordinace version 2 in the modds and and download section, very radical and includes many other very radical mods as well...

Area for Exploration: Reconcile Edges Funtion
Indisguise replied to SC4BOY's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
what I do as I sort of partial to having my cities conform all the time is to reconcile a city when first entering it...don't change the city edges aginst established cities, and when i have my bounderies set 9 using the in games tools and set all my conections)...I then open and reconcile the edges of unplayed cities to the ones I played already, so when i return the city edges match those of the ones around them recociling eadges of a city that is established is just about the worst thing you can do to it, for tha above mentioned reason ( destrys all studf on the edges, desrtoys bridges annd tunnels and randomly knocks out trasnit and building throughout the city and they charge you the buldozing cost as well) If I do run across an establish city that doesn't recocile, i personelly will piggy bak a roll of $$ an reconcile when i know i can afford it and have the time to reconstruct the city after the devistating effects it causes some players never recolcile their cities to the surrounding ones, as it is only an option that you can decline or toggle off....some mayors have cities beside each other 100's of metres difference....the game will allow you to do this if you want, though very drastic changes will be noticable i the region view sometimes -
Wallace petroleum is the largest Maxis dirty IND job count lot in the game 158 jobs, 52 air pollution, 36 water pollution...it's growable and will raise your Demand cap, and it brings in money not costs you money never heard of this Benzene Petrochemical lot before, sound like a custom lot that been modded, doesn't come up in my game as per the stats you listed, in french german or english ps where are the door so ppl and the product can in and out of the building ?
-
oh, I've been given advice to them for about a year now on how to set proper stats for lots. All has fallen on deaf ears. so if a lot looks ok, and doesn't function either properly in the game or the way the lot maker states, if it loks good and wrecks your game, while playing, your saying it should be rated a 10 ?????
-
realistic dirty IND ???? 1 for both air and water polltution, also cost money to maitain and doesn't funtion properly as an IND lot as it's a plopable landmark and will adversly affect IND demand caps because of it's inability to start a freight comute. Lot looks nice, but doesn't function properly. rating 3 need more work in the stats department to be considered a realistic dirty ind in any manner

yea sorry to say your second upload is quite a mess like ripplejet says...i think this lot needs to be deleted and redone, might want to check in the omnibus section or the modds section threads of the site on how to mod the stats for your buildings correctly sort at a loss on how this could have happened accidently sorry 1/10 bugged and unuseable...:( ps MarcoMX didn't you rate this lot 10/10 already ??? good call there buddy

yea seen the thread...but that was afterwards of writing this post....I never took the time to actually pinpoint the actual % neutral points in the taxes at different populations, just noticed this trend when playing my game in general terms...knew it happened...just I learned not to be to particular of the demand charts at high populations ( above 1 million) due to the fact that delapilated buildings would make large swings into the negatives also...even though the city continues to grow...with short burst of growth and then swings into the negatives for several years...i learned through trial and error to just ride out the storm and not get to particular in the actual #'s....think it's a litle bit of glitch in the game...i have cities that the demand charts say their in the negatives...but stuff keeps on a growing
