  1. Why is everything white?

Well, I've un/re-installed SC4D. There's no doubt in my mind that the snow plugs were the culprit, and I thank everyone who helped. This time, instead of going plugin wild, I just went through the NDEX list of plugins (awesome stuff there!!) and set those up. While they surely had everything I could ever want in a city, I'll probably go through it all one at a time (BSC is next). Just a little update to close out the thread. Time to go drool at some more CJs. Peace RD

The folder itself was just named snow capped.
  3. Why is everything white?

I got rid of the snow plugins, now I can't even load a city. Not even the tutorials after I've reset them. Something tells me that was it, but I won't know until I uninstall and re-install the game and the plugins. After that happened, I'd rather start with a fresh install. I'd hate to get a real city going and have something go wrong. I'll report back later to let you guys know what happened. Thanks again!!
  4. Why is everything white?

Wow!! I didn't expect to hear anything this quickly!! callagrafx - Nope. I haven't added anything since starting the city. sim1234 - I just checked. I have a whole 'snow capped' section. I just deleted them, but I have to log off to run SC as all these windows I have open are surely hogging my memory. I'll be back shortly to report. Thanks for the lightning quick responses!! brb edit: Fred_Ginger - Sorry. I didn't see yours until after I hit the reply. Thanks a lot!!
  5. Hey folks! I'm having a problem that is a bit baffling. My residential and commercial zones are being built with white grounds... This being hard to explain, here's a pic... Any modd or BAT that I've downloaded, I've made sure that I downloaded all of the dependancies (if any) and they are all placed in their own subfolders in the My Documents\SimCity4\.... folder. Has anyone ever had this problem? I noticed it when I was doing the tutorial, but figured it was just something that might happen because the tutorial has ready-made examples, so I threw this together to see what would happen. Lo and behold, everything is being built on 'snow'. Win XP(sp2) 1gig RAM 1.6 ghz SC4 Deluxe (w/RushHour) and I have installed the update from the website. Not sure what else you need to know. Before I go through the business of individually removing and 're-installing' all my plugins, I was wondering if maybe someone has had this happen, and if there was an easier way out. Thank you very much for any help anyone may be able to give me. Peace RD
  6. The Republics of the Phoenix- An Island Nation

WOW!! That military district almost reminds me of the Naval Shipyard here in Philly. Outstanding job! The storyline really adds to the overall enjoynemt and helps the understanding of why you set the region up the way you did. Great job! I'll be checking back soon!!
  7. MX FedEX Kinkos

Excellent!! Exactly the look I was searching for!! I'd give you a 9/10, but for whatever reason, it's not registering my vote. Maybe it's because I'm new?? I dunno....
  14. Introduce Yourself Here!

Voar Tok - Thanks for the kind welcome. If by site rules you mean the 'Basic Information For New Members', that's the first place I went. If there are others, I'll find it. sloppet - Great to be here, and thanks for the oak leaf. Hopefully, I won't have to PM you a lot . I generally like to pull my own hair out before I get someone working on theirs. helomoto - Thanks! I already dig the site. I've just been trying to pace myself because there's a ton of info on this site... and I haven't even seen the entire thing yet! (I really need to stay out of the CJ forum or I'll never get anything done) sim1234 - Thanks for the welcome. So far, it seems to be a pretty friendly place. I've yet to read one... umm... 'spam' thread here yet. I think that's a message board first! Compromise - Thanks!! The CJ section is awesome! Back when I used to play the old game, it never really occured to me that others would take it as seriously as most here do. It's really added a whole new dimension to SC and how I look at it now. That was a very welcomed surprise. Once I get used to how to use all the plugins and how to make my own region (or find a map I like in STEX), I'll be more than ready to begin construction on my own little utopia. Thanks for the kind welcomes, folks. Time to go look at the region maps.
  15. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey folks! I guess I got into this very late. I used to play SinCity back when it first came out (the original, I mean) and loved it. Since then, never really had much time. Now that I do, I notice that this has evolved by leaps and bounds from the last time I played it... or maybe I just didn't know there was a forum for it. Dopey me. There's a forum for folks who like to sing 'We Will Rock You' while wearing a bunny suit, eating a corn dog. Of course, I've been reading here for a couple days, and this place is much better. Since SimCity 4 Deluxe w/Rush Hour is so far removed from the last version I played, I consider myself a SC Virgin, so be gentle if I manage to ask a stupid question. My biggest mistake so far was reading the City Journals before I got going on plugins and stuff. AWESOME stuff those CJs. Anyway, I can get long-winded (better hope I never do a CJ, you'll know what color socks my Sims like to wear), so I'll end this now. By the way... How Are Ya!! Dave 41yrs old Philadelphia can't wait to get started!!
