Well, after switching to Mac a few years ago, I finally bought me SC on Mac. While I was playing, I was wondering if there are any ways to cheat, like inserting cheat codes for example. I know you would type in cheat codes after you did a certain key combo. But does this exist no the Mac version as well? Thx.

When I downloaded it, it was allready unzipped. If that's not the case: right click on your zipfile and choose one of the options. I don't know how it's called (I don't have OSX in english) but it should be very similar to "unzipping".

Placement of Railways.....
OnitzukaScorpion replied to kingmadmushroom's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Well, I guess everybody had that problem once. And i'ts all about planning. Next time, make sure you leave enough space open to build a railway, ELR, higways, busstops, metrostations,... But since i'ts easy to forget that (you're not the only one ) there are 2 solutions that I know. 1) By tracing a railway, you will need to demolish a part of the allready existing buildings. I'ts fast, easy but radical and could have neg. effects on devlopement. (I guess) 2) If you don't like the radical way, try this: Build the railway underground. There's a really great tool in STEX (don't remember the name) wich allows you to build tunnels as long as you want. Using this tool, you 'll have to demolish only 1 or 2 buildings, just to make some room for the entrance of the tunnel. Don't forget to surface the railway in the places where you want a station. Thanks to this method, you can trace a railway under your city and let it just surface for +- 8 squares, just enough for a station. I'ts a lot of work, but less dramatic than method 1. EDIT: I've found the tool. I'ts the hole digging tool from smoncrie. Here's the link https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=3599 -
"Show us your historical architecture,buildings,bridges,landmarks

Well, like Mickebear, I'm from Brussels so I'm just gonna add some "need to see" places. Oh, before I start, the picture that Mickebear marks as a scene from St-Niklaas, is a scene from Brussels. Anyway, here are more landmarks. Palace of Justice The Atomium, a 102m high replica of an iron-atom, build during the World Expo of 58. Manneken Pis Woops, that's not a historical building [Picture deleted] The" Cinquantenaire", an arch of triomph build for the 50th anniversary of Belgium. The Royal Palace The Basilic -
Well, I lived for a while in Brussels and still study there and you can call the whole city a big flop. There are several mistakes made by the city council. I wil post two of them. 1) The European Quarter is the centre of all european activity in Brussels and knowing that Brussels is the capital of Europe it's pretty large (in a Belgian way). The only problem is, is that the city council, blinded by the money from the european institutions, gave "carte blanche" to the institutions. And we all know that that's the worst thing you could decide! During construction of the European Parliament and other EU-institutions, whole (historical) neighbourhoods were demolished THe European Quarter is now a conclave, a "closed" neigbourhood for EU-councils and buraucrats hiding themselfs from the outside world. There are shops and a postoffice, but only for the fue lucky ones. THis is the main building, where you can find shops, bars and other services, but only for the fue lucky ones. 2) The second mistake is the fact that the city council is thirsty for money, any kind of money. As you may know, Brussels is known for his art-nouveau houses. Instead of keeping the historical buildings and restaure them, the council decides that the one who buys it, can do with it whaterver he wants. Ofcourse this leads to a mass demolition of art-nouveau houses who are replaced by those hidious things. That's how it was before. 3) And finally I 'll tell you something about "De Grote Markt / La Grande Place" a marketplace listed in the heritage-list of UNESCO. The council just decided, again for the money, that one of the buildings behind the marketplace is beeing restaured. But, by doing this, they will add af few more storeys, knowing that this will affect the vieuw of the marketplace and that this could lead to a removal of the UNESCO-list. Well these are just a few ot the mistakes they made. But it's not allways like that, the council also made some good decisions, but that's for another time. Maybe good to know is that I have a love-hate relationship with Brussels like all inhabitants of Brussels.
