Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
mapper replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Thats great, fukuda! The textures on the bridges are facing the same way for American drivers. Unless you are going for a European look, then the bridge furthest to the viewer has the wrong texture.- 3,919 Replies

@Tarkus That is amazing! Hopefully this will open new doors for interchange customization. I wonder if you have noticed this before, but, if the RHW is really rural, then why is it pathed for pedestrians too? Your puzzle pieces are not pathed with pedestrians, so then why not the entire RHW? I mean, wouldn't it be weird to see 70 mph cars and people walking along the shoulder? Thanks, -mapper- 3,919 Replies

@Bennett000 First and foremost, welcome to Simtropolis! It is possible using the NAM but it is still in development. The RHW (Rural Highway) thread contains some new developments on wider networks using the ANT(Alternate Network Tool). mjig_dudy is working on (wider) 6, 8, and 12 lane avenues using a one way road and ANT override. Tarkus is working on custom built interchanges on the RHW, answering the question to make express/C-D roads. The RHW has the functionality for that. jplumbley is working on a wider one-way road. Lastly, quirlix is working on a RHW that is compatible with the NAM 20. Check out the RHW thread for more details. Hope this helps and answers this question. -mapper

@ Andreas Roth: In the NAM (v. 20) the new lateral/raised ramps for roads work fine, but wasn't ArkenbergeJoe working on Avenue Lateral ramps? If, so are they part of this current NAM or part of a later planned version? Thanks, -mapper

Thanks for answering my question, Tarkus. And I got a another one for you. Not to put a damper on all the work you are doing(by the way great job), are you going to make avenue/one-way overpasses over RHW? If not, I had some ideas of trying to make them myself. I'm not that great but if I get the right measurements/files I might be able to do it. Thanks, -mapper- 3,919 Replies

This project seemed to have slowed down in the past few months but now it seems to be back on track! Elevated RHW seems like a great idea, but will they work with the standard 2-lane RHW that mjig_dudy created? This would create a whole new set of interchanges with 2-lane, 4-lane(2 lanes on each side), and possibly the upcoming 10-lane RHW(5 lanes on each side). EDIT: Oh and are there any one-way/road intersection textures in the works? -mapper- 3,919 Replies

dmrsunz- I think I understand your question, but it is worded oddly, so some people still don't understand it. The mod basically changes the paths and the textures of the ANT, so when two ANT networks are placed together it creates the RHW one-ways. But personally I don't know how exactly it works. Hope this helps a little.....but if it doesn't I think you should ask for an explantion from qurlix. -mapper- 3,919 Replies

james50000000 and hamsterTK, There is one site where you can download it. http://koti.mbnet.fi/heka33/RHW-public-v012.zip That should do it, but if you have any problems with the site, PM Zeddic. Currently this is the only place to download it. Hope this helps. -mapper- 3,919 Replies

louistsw- Here is a tutorial on how to create rural highways. https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=75821&STARTPAGE=3&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear If that doesn't help, then there maybe something wrong with the way you installed the mod. -mapper- 3,919 Replies

Micah - You are right about the first one; but the second one works for me. If it doesn't work for you then contact noone or Zeddic --mapper- 3,919 Replies
