Regardless of whether EA rushed the title out sooner than they should, at least they are still continuing to improve the game.  I don't see how anyone can knock that.

I think if we can spend nearly 10 years growing SC4, surely we have more patience with this new one than just 7 months?

The problem is after Rush Hour (that's nine months later) EA/Maxis all but abandoned Simcity 4.  The following ten years of growth was the result of the community.

Now EA/Maxis has it that all new development on the game depends on them.

OK...I''m really impressed with this new tool and if it works as it shows then it's a great addition.  Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing that could intice me to purchase the game until they have worked out the most glaring issue, village sized cities!

    Wow, tuff crowed.

Coming here  reminds me of another group of fans to certain franchise that didn't like the route the development team was taking. The group was very vocal and didn't support the game, so the publishers (who own the rights to the game) disbanded the development team and the franchise died.

    Just saying....

It's almost as if developers ought to talk to customers before choosing unpopular routes, rather than finding out something's not going to work after the fact.

    You think!

They had a winning template...has anyone heard of SC4, it's still being played 10 years after its release. It had huge maps, terraforming, customization, etc, etc. Sounds like a safe bet to me. Give SC4 a refresh with today's technologies and I bet people will stampede to buy it...I would!

Absolutely!  They should have paid some attention to the last time someone attempted to take the SimCity franchise in a different direction (Societies).

Sad how SimCity 4 is better in almost every way (especially with mods) and it even looks better.

Tough crowd you say... It reminds me of the line "Fool me once, shame on you...."   The only franchise that would die in this case would be sc2013... I personally believe that nothing short of a miracle would stop Sim City 4's dominance

Hey Guys, it has been a long time since I have played SC4 but I used to play CitiesXL until I got so frustrated with how slow it was.  With SC5, what turned me off was you couldn't build freeways or even highways with onramps/offramps.  With these new tools, are they working up to some sort of expansion pack for SC5 because if they did, I might buy it.
