The above changes certainly do not represent a complete list of new version 2.0. Expect further details on the day of the release, that is next week on Tuesday. Meanwhile, although the 2.0 update does not fix the loss of the gaming process and the "rollback", but very hard to solve these problems we work.

Because it is the first major update so we would like to warn you in advance that all game servers will be updated at the time of 2.0 to two hours off. Issuing updates for such a large number of players is not a simple task, so it's a necessary step. Neither was it easy to choose the right time for the release, according to statistics gaming servers but we worked out that at least players just damage the outage at 18:00. We believe that, given the list of repairs you will understand that you two hours waiting worthwhile.

For now, try the Cheetah speed by going back to the game again!

    Thanks for your patience, mayors!

    User Feedback

I certainly hope that's not all they fixed. Seems like the list should be much longer than this.

I'm not going to hold my breathe that this patch will fix much at all and I'm going to assume that we won't see any significant changes to the core simulation for months. Still, it's a start. I hope the english version is coming soon.

    Yes, I saw that.

This is why "hope" was emphasized.

    Something's not quite right here:

    • Why was this only posted on the Czech blog, and not the main EA forums?
    • Why was it later taken down?

Quite strange that an article can be posted on the official site, and then removed. It's almost as if the patch notes were leaked from the inside... :uhm:

You pay to download a game and now you are constantly bombarded to install updates for it. Is it me or in the old days they just made the game as it was? sure they had little bugs but back in those days you didn't mind as the game was playable and not broken. If the game was broken ie ghostbusters you didn't care too much because you could still play it.

Games are games and not windows!

Funny to see 90% of the bugs here are the exact glitches I ran into that made me stop working on a city multiple times throughout the previous week or two.

So now the game should be about 50% playable.

    am I pleased?

    Oh please.

Well, gratz for getting cheetah speed back up again i guess...

Maybe go back again to 2D text sprites that needed only 1000 lines of code and some simple mathematical modelling?

There is no bug free software. The more complex code you write, the more bugs there are. The more difficult it is to find them.

Last night I was working overnight (20 hours straight) to test my new software at one of the company sea ports (was night and was given one lane with cameras etc).

And found serious bugs on the main software client, that nobody had reported for 3 months in testing and 4 months while in production (live).

Because they though another piece of software was faulty and didn't care (the one I am replacing). Not the core software that had the bug.

And the bug is obvious, when you have trailers (normal 13.6 metres long) at the wrong locations.

Looks like someone pressed a wrong button!

It may be that the details to be released yesterday to 18:00 were not completely ready just as the game also was not when it was released.

What about rollbacks being finally fixed?

You did not know? EA considers this issue resolved.

    Read about it. - R

Panos is right. I should get a few of you a box of tissues. Give me a break. I'm glad they are fixing things and they recognize they have problems and are doing what they can to fix them. Most software developer companies would say, "Buy the upgraded software." When you do that, you discover the bugs in the previous remain!

These sorts of things are why I simply just don't buy games anymore &/or wait awhile before contemplating buying games.
