2 pointsSo this is something new, with no relation to Vercelli. I emptied my plugins folder and have been rebuilding it over the past few days. Kloten is what came out of it. So far this is pretty basic, I haven't spent a LOT of time in the lot editor, only because the idea is to finish the map before I go back in and pretty everything up. I do want to do a story with this, so this is kind of a teaser. After I get more of the basics placed and sorted out I will be coming back in to work on more plaza's, putting in some ships, and overall adding some more life to the pictures. Until then enjoy! St. Gallen Our story begins 50 years ago, at the height of the cold war...

I am sitting in a coarse, yet fine yellow sand. My eyes stare out into a vast, green ocean. I am breathing the air of another world; it tastes bitter. Sweat drips down my face from the sweltering heat. The murky green sky maroons me in my own mind. I must stop being poetic and write like a captain. "Noah" Three earth days ago we exited the wormhole in a sudden, forceful jolt of temporary anti-gravity. Whether fate or something else, we exited inside the boundaries of the Alnitak system, close to a Saturn-like gas giant (now known as Alnitak 5, with the number 5 designating the planet as being the 5th from the star). Alnitak 5 has 22 moons, with the inner six being large bodies. In what I can only describe as a tense and overwhelming moment in time, our equipment detected that the fourth moon of Alnitak 5 possibly contained liquid water and a breathable atmosphere. We quickly dispatched a HEX. After three hours of flying over the surface, Cmdr. Tilwor Ziaeg and his HEX 2 sent back images of a very Earth-like world. One image was of a giant mesa protruding out of a large, green ocean. On top of the mesa were four black and yellow towers of unknown purpose and origin. We caught our first glimpse of alien life as giant birds were seen flying around and nesting in these towers. We have no reason to believe these towers are of natural origin. Further pictures confirmed a large presence of these around the moon. Our sensors detected faint radio waves emitting from the towers, and we now believe they are communication antennas. Perhaps this moon served as a communications outpost for an intelligence not native to this moon, and no longer in this system. We have yet to detect any signs of a present or past native intelligence. However that does not mean one does not exist. Perhaps it just hasn't built anything visible from the air. "Eve" While other possible worlds in this system that might harbor life are being determined back in orbit on the ship, myself and our astrobiology team have taken a HEX down to the surface to do some close-up investigation of the life on this world. We have a zoological wing of the Hubble in which we hope to house certain creatures or food specimens from other worlds that we feel can be sustained on the ship. Welcome aboard the Ark. "Isla Prima" We touched down, where we are currently, on an island we now call "Isla Prima," or "Cousin Island" for its similarity to Earth islands. We have already seen several creatures and are planning on taking a few of them on board. One in particular is a female creature with human-like features, but is the size of a domestic cat. The creature did not appear fearful of us as did some of the others; perhaps it is more alien to us than we are to it. I have just received word that there are two more worlds in this system of interest. One has an unknown surface composition and the other appears to be habitable. Perhaps "Eve" can lend us some more insight. - Capt. Drake S. Eastman, U.S.S. Hubble

1 pointReplies ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- avrelivs, Weicher - correct, Pluto was dismissed as a planet. it is now known as a "dwarf planet," and yes my Pluto entry said such from the very beginning...i don't spend all this time looking up distances, surface temps, etc. just to miss what type of celestial object it is!! terring, Evillions - guess what?! i've already completed an alien civilization..i'm creating these worlds a little out of order based on their presentation order because there is a background storyline that is going to be followed...but i can say that in the next few entries everyone will begin to see their first glimpses of alien civilizations..and i hope they will be worth the wait! ccecill, Benedict, Reikhardt, escilnavia, sepen, Alejandro - THANKS!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAPTAIN'S LOG NUMBER: 00176 LOCATION: MILKY WAY - SUN - PLUTONIAN SYSTEM, 5414 MI. OUTSIDE CHARON ORBIT EARTH DATE: MAY 29, 2077 MISSION DATE: DAY 1680 Today, I write to inform whatever future generation of people, on Earth or elsewhere, will come to remember as the greatest discovery in human history. Not much has been made or said of Pluto since it was demoted from a planet to a dwarf planet seventy years ago. NASA's New Horizons mission, launched in 2006, was scheduled to reach Pluto in 2015 but collided with an unknown debris field outside the orbit of Uranus on March 19, 2011 and was never heard from again since. We reached the Plutonian system five days ago, amidst excitement from everyone aboard the ship. We went HEX the next day. No one will ever forget the words of pilot Cdr. Jase Kizka broadcast in the command center two hours into his flight - "Sir, you're never going to believe this." I expected I would believe it. When you travel in space for over 1500 days and go farther than any man has before, you tend to think that you have reached the climax of mystery, and discovery. We expected Cdr. Kizka to transmit back images of surface channels that would appear to have been carved by water. Instead, a high-resolution image of a giant pyramid slowly decoded on the screen. It looked just like the Great Pyramid of Giza on Earth, only a murky black, grey and yellow one. Great Pyramid of Giza Then came the results of the HEX's on board PSDS (Planetary Surface Dimensioning System). Our archaeological science team confirmed what by this time we already suspected - that the dimensions of the Plutonian pyramid and the Great Pyramid of Giza were the same. Even the pyramid's capstone was missing as it is on Earth. Then one of the arch. science team members suddenly shouted in a tone of amazement and fear, "The Orion Correlation Theory...my God..." I had heard before of something called the Orion Correlation Theory. It is, or was, a suppressed theory that the Pyramids of Giza (Khufu [Great Pyramid], Khafre, and Menkaure) geographically mirror the astronomical alignment of three stars in the Orion constellation known as Orion's Belt (Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka). According to this theory, the Great Pyramid of Giza is then representative of Alnitak. Pyramids of Giza and Orion's Belt After some time it was calculated by our arch. science team that the Plutonian pyramid is at the same coordinates on the surface as Alnitak is in the Plutonian sky. We have now received a transmission back from Houston, and our orders are to avert from Alpha Centauri in favor of Orion's Belt. Regardless of our new destination, we will be traveling for the first time through a wormhole oustide of NASA simulations. Alnitak is 800 light years away, and the wormhole (we hope) will cut the distance down to what we currently estimate to be roughly half a light year. If this is in fact true, it will take us approximately 179 earth days to reach the Alnitak system as we will be able to travel at the speed of light inside the wormhole. We will return to our original plan of visiting the Alpha Centauri system someday. But who knows when? Who knows where this new course will take us. What will we find? What will we learn? Where will it lead? Once we enter the wormhole we will be permanently cut off from communications with Earth. We will remain cut off once we exit the wormhole as Orion's Belt is too distant. My crew and I would be dead centuries before a transmission we sent ever reached home, if our brothers and sisters even remember we existed. Mankind's mark on space is soon to be left solely in our hands and in my better judgment. May God guide me. We will use the next 179 days to further develop a communication plan with any possible alien intelligence, and to prepare a defense plan should we encounter any hostile threats. Alnitak is 10,000 times brighter than our Sun, so we will use the time to also determine the effects this could have on our eyesight and our skin, and also any susceptible technologies on board the ship. But, for all we know, Alnitak may no longer exist. When I turn away from my desk and look out the window behind me, I see it. But I am looking 800 years into the past. Orion's Belt (from left to right: Alnitak, Alnilam, Mintaka) We now have every reason to believe that the Orion Correlation Theory is true, and that perhaps the designers of the pyramids on Earth, and Pluto, came from Orion's Belt. If we encounter any intelligent species, we will show them a picture of the Great Pyramid of Giza, in hopes that it will be recognized and will communicate a peaceful intent. While some would be nervous about what we are soon to witness, knowing that there is a risk that you, your ship and her crew might not make it out alive; I am calm. To be so far away from Earth and cut off from everything you have ever known, I remain confident. And if I should die at the hands of some alien intelligence, then I'll die knowing I truly lived. - Capt. Drake S. Eastman, U.S.S. Hubble

1 pointReplies @9988: Thanks a lot =) @TekindusT: Thanks a lot for that @Blakeway: Thanks! @TowerDude: Thanks a lot =) @K50: Well, there is a subway station not very far away @Mikeaut1: Thanks @marakh: Thanks, The registration is full chineese only, a translator might help. U56 Heyho and welcome to the fiftysixth update of my CJ Dragon islands. Today we will visit the Saphira district of Shì Yan. This district is located at the western end of the city and is splitted into 1/3 high dense residential area, 1/3 sports park and 1/3 hi-tec park. Let's start at a point you already know, the social housing projects near Ao ke lù station. 01 The western end of the residential area presents itself a bit wealthier than the eastern end. 02 But all of this area is dominated by two orange-red towers at the waterside. 03 The area to the west and south of the highrises gave this district it's name. From 1900 onward a big jevellery manufacture doinated all the area along the coast. The main products whas jevellery with thoose nice saphires in their wounderful colors, when it burnt down and went bankrupt in 1986, it left nearly 13.000 workers without a job and a big unused area. In the late 1990s the city government nominated this area as one of the possible places for a new supersports center and won this project. The project contained the renovation of the old baseball stadium shown in the next picture.... 04 ...a completeley new watersports arena... 05 ...a new mutifunctional arena, used for basketball games, as concert hall and so on... 06 ...And a new soccer arena that can also be used for multiple other cinds of sports. 07 08 The whole complex is located along the shoreline and uses huge parks as filler pieces, partyfields for fans and other stuff. 09 Some overground parking and a metro station complete the complex. 10 Northern Saphira is a Hi-Tec industry park, one of many in this region. 11 And a small overview =) 12 I hope you've liked this update, greetings, Skimbo

1 pointWe enter the town through the agricultural and industrial areas... Soon we get onto the 'Strip' where all the fancy hotels and shopping areas are located... Let's take a flyover of the whole 'Strip' - starting north we pass the 'Marina Residentials', 'Villa MaryJo' with the smaller 'Family Inn' and 'Marina Apartels' directly at the beach, the 'Marina Mall', 'The Fortune Serene' and the shopping complex at the end of the Strip... Some of these building close up... Note: After the Mansion's view became obstructed by greedy foreshore developers, it was turned into a function center with a museum, galleries, convention center, restaurants etc... the family has since moved to some Caribbean island. For a few bucks you can rent a glider and have a motorboat tow you 'into the wind'... or else travel a few kilometers inland to take off on your own from one of the cliffs... North Beach is a quieter beach and mostly used by local folks... Now off you go, tend to that sunburn... :-)

1 point"Hi Maarten. This is actually quite nice to look at. Beautiful colors and an obviously well-planned layout. Keep up the great work. As a side note, I'd love to see more of your rail work as the images you've shown here are worth stopping and looking at." --- JGellock Well, the next few updates will show more of my railway engineering... "Great update once again, Maarten. I see a lot of interesting stuff here: the variety of crops, the use of wide-angle curves, a lot of FARR pieces.. and incredible new textures that I hope to use myself one day.. And I must say: That sunken stretch of road on pic. 6.08 is wonderful! Great work!" --- heitomat With a few hole diggers, retain walls and overpasses, you'll get the job done "Hmmmm, you've used at least two new RHW pieces in the last picture. This update is the best in this CJ (so far? ), the great use of RHW and other road network puzzle pieces and a good attention to detail are one of the things that makes this update so good. It also makes me even more excited about the road barriers you have got in the making. I'm just corious about which road texture you are using... EDIT: It's the RHW textures I'm corious about." --- ImVhOzzi Those are the new "V5-Spec" RHW textures, the standard livery of the new RHW version. "Those are very lovely towns. And the picture quality is superb!" --- panthersimcity4 Thank you! "i love to see this. makes me want to jump in car and take a ride the electric poles running through the country is very realistic." --- hijodecordoba Indeed, these power lines add a nice detail to these rural scenes. "Very nice pics!" --- Andrey km Thank you! "When making FAR curves with the RHW, I usually think "if only there were RHW-6C and RHW-6S FAR curves...". And they are finally here!! One more hurray for you, NAM Team guys (and you've earned a dozen lately). As for the update itself, I'm not a huge fan of rural stuff and I never play rural, but this is why I like very much to see how people use the rural stuff like you've done in this update. The only think I haven't liked is the State Fair lot; tinking of rodeos in the middle of that landscape you show us today has shocked me..." --- TekindusT The rodeo is bad advertising The rest of the lot is OK to me. One tip of mine: never underestimate the value of some Maxis buidlings. "Yay, 2+1 roads! Tested in Ireland for, like, half a kilometer before the idea was scrapped here. Sigh - they look so good. As for the puzzle piece guessing game, because I don't have a clue I guess five!" --- figgy I also like the RHW-3 very much, although they are quite rare here in the Netherlands "Everything is just wonderful. I like the powerlines and your nighttime street lighting photoshop job. Only thing is I am not so sure banana plantations exist in Germany. That is the one problem with the rural stuff-its too fantasy and the various sets of farms have crops that you just wouldn't see grown everywhere." --- hamsterTK But this isn't Germany! This is the Bondsrepublic of Schellingen, a fictional country --- TEASER ALERT! UPDATE CONTAINS QUITE A LOT OF UNRELEASED CONTENT --- Well, it took longer than expected, due to my work for the NAM Team, but I finally managed to get another update ready. Due to the sheer load of pictures, this update will split in two, where the second will follow soon. Here's part 1: This special is all about the freeways around Felixruhe, one of the eastern suburbs of Schellingen-Stadt. The suburb has three freeways running through and around it: the A4/A14 (the number changes at a freeway interchange), the A10 (Autobahnring Schellingen) and the A112. Most of the pictures are speaking for themselves. So let's start with the A14. Here it enters Felixruhe. In the direction of Schellingen-Mitte, the freeway ends and goes on as the B14. Exit 86. Although the A14 is short, it has a high exit number. This is because the exit numbering of the A4 continues here. At the Felixruher Kreuz (we'll see that interchange later this update), the A4 bends of to the A10 and continues on it's own at the other side of the city ring near Wahrmund. We now move on to the A10, the Autobahnring Schellingen. This freeway loops around the city and one lap is about 35 km long. Here's one tight exit at this freeway. We are now approaching the Felixruher Kreuz: A close-up: And here the interchange. For us roadgeeks: This is a clover-windmill interchange. The A4 continues to the East here, in direction of the city of Compagniestaete in the neighbouring country Nova Hollandia. Back to the A10 again... ... on to the Franzoeser Kreuz ... ... which is a cloverleaf interchange. A close up from where the freeway A112 ends and continues as the B12. An exit at the B12. We are re-entering the city again, this time through the modern city district of Franzoesquartier. And to conclude this update: a teaser pic of the next update: A final question: there are five new RHW features shown in this update, of which the new cosmetic pieces are one feature. Can you guess the other four? Best, Maarten
