Hello again! Numerous real life events have taken me away from working on my journal for the past six months. I'm now ready to pick up where I left off. So without further ado, todays terraforming update features the area around Ludlam's Beach Island, home to the resort towns of Sea Isle City, Strathmere, and Townsend's Inlet. Hello again. Well, we weathered the storm here fairly well. Fortunately , Hurricane Irene weakened to a category 1 and passed offshore of Cape May County, making landfall just north of Atlantic City,(25 miles northeast of the region) rather than going up Delaware Bay as expected. Add that to the fact that the storm passed while the tide was falling, sparing the region from the catastrophic flooding. I've received enough comments on the Goshen chapter to warrant a seperate entry to answer them all, rather than filling up space in the next entry. Also, I'd like to let you know that work is progressing on the next update,featuring the incorporated city of Woodbine, which should be ready in a few days. Wow, so many replies to the Stone Harbor update! I really do appreciate the feedback. Rather than take up space in the next update, which should be ready later in the weekend, I'll answer them here. While ya read, You can listen to "On the Way to Cape May". Written in 1961 by Buddy Nugent, the tune circulated from one band to another around Cape May County in the second half of the 20th Century. It became regionally popular when Al Alberts recorded it and increased its broadcast exposure on radio and TV....

Well, most of my hurricane preparations are complete so I figure I'll update y'all on the situation here before I lose power. At the moment, the core of the hurricane is about 100 miles offshore, and is due to hit within 4 to 6 hours. Winds at the center have increased to 90 mph, making this a potentially devastating storm. The morning's high tide brought severe flooding to the barrier island communities, and the water has risen over the Garden State Parkway and all the causeways. Those left on the islands...
