If you managed to read the hidden text in the last update, you should have known that coal mining might come to Invernessen. Of the two people that talked about coal mining, both said yes.

About 12 kilometers to the northwest of Invernessen, the brown scar of progress appeared.

Route 27 and the road to the mine intersect in this mining town. A train shuttle exists between here and Invernessen.

u12-2.jpg?t=1268768767

The mining road heads west, somewhat parallel to a stream.

u12-3.jpg?t=1268768772

The road is still near the stream. This stream is an experiment of placing PEG's Tahoe water under Jeronji's transparent water.

u12-4.jpg?t=1268768798

We pass a bridge along the way.

u12-5.jpg?t=1268768796

And the rest is a few curves.

u12-6.jpg?t=1268768804

And a few more.

u12-7.jpg?t=1268768806

And a couple more.

u12-8.jpg?t=1268768808

Until the edge of town. Just small industry and a generator.

u12-9.jpg?t=1268768811

The town's stores don't have too much activity, and only serve people living inside the town.

u12-10.jpg?t=1268768822

The rest of the streets are laid in a grid system, and contain the housing of the people working.

u12-11.jpg?t=1268768824

Finally, the mine.

Any suggestions on how to improve the mine?

Where to expand the farms?

i think a good name for a mining town would be Dureson. (Dur-sun) Expand the farms to the west, definitely then cross over the river more. Also, i'd love a road named after me. Call it Seelert Way

the mines should have more coal in them instead of just dirt and possibly a cave or eyecandy tracks

Try a small processing plant nearby, or some buildings that help transport the minerals out. At this point, it seems all the dirt dug up goes out by truck, and is that quite realisitic? Other than that, great nature shots! Really liking the stream

I suggest that you try to find some sort of diagonal dirt lots, just to get rid of the jagged edges of the mine, they kinda ruin the illusion unfortunately.
I'd still like to see a Route 23... maybe you could name the road to the mine that. : D

***Replies***

dudkis:  I  like the silent 'e' in the name. It has a pretty good chance of winning.
danielra96:  The mine isn't the tunnel kind - it's strip the land kind.
CTMandR:  The land is quite a bit hilly around the mine, and I am trying to find a place for one.
Katcilla:  I found the perfect set to replace the construction lots I used.
Cubs:  The water is Brigantine and the beach is from the Olympic Terrain mod. If you are talking about the ploppable streams, they are PEG's PPond kit.
iwondisciti:  It's Olympic. I'll consider the name.
Simaddict1000:  I used one of them already. I'll try to fit in the other two.
