P.R. Crastina's Travels : P. R. Makes the Big Time (SC4)

tariely

Coming from the fabled and sunken land of Simpegia, P. R. Crastina is a writer. She is now testing the waters of Simtropia, hoping the natives are kind. As a moderately successful writer, she moves around a lot to give lectures and writing workshops and generally goes about trying to contaminate impressionable young (or less young) minds with crazy talks about asking questions and never being satisfied with answers, as she writes science fiction. She also likes to walk, love trees and generally green stuff, friendly cats and eating well. This time, she has been invited to a big city, although she generally is more of a smallville & country kind of girl. Here's a peek.

Nice selection of buildings, I like how they're spread out and not altogether.

Also could you tell me the name of the blue glass building and the long diagonal building in the picture below, thanks.

Thanks ! The blue glassy building is Raika Large Library ; the long diagonal one is in fact several buildings that grow together. I have to check that city plugins, I think it's from Simcity Polska. (LOTS of nifty buildings there). Back to you soon.

Yep : MS Al. Przyjaciol 3 (MS is Motokloss, who makes wonderful bats.)

And in case you also want to know, the wavy one is Edificio Copan, from the Spanish Site Capital City (also well stocked in interesting buildings, especially JSTeed productions, see below. And of course the LBT group ones, although they tend to have oversaturated nitelites.)

Diagonal streets seems so awkward to build filler are needed ! This gives a town some kind of peace on it own ! Variety, indeed is what make or breaks any city ! Fortunaly from the first look at this city I can say it´s a relaxing town with good a good backbone of rapid transit ! Wouldn´t change anything, would make it only more crowded !

Thanks for the comment.  And yes, I have noticed a definite lack of diagonal buildings, over the years, despite the efforts of Glenni, NDEX, Krio, Simcoug, also some others at Simcity Polska, Simcity Kurrier  et al. (and the Simpeg crew, who made some killer diagonal industrials !). Diagonal parks are especially scarce, although you can build some with existing diagonal fences, but ready-made diagonal parks are few and far between.  (I use Prepo's, mostly and JPN MAS71_Seasonal Diagonal  -- I think they're the only one around the block !) I must confess that one of the things I like about City Skylines is the possiblity of putting parks on diagonals (but only rectangular or square, last time I checked ; no triangles ...)

As for the peaceful streets... I like my cities not too crowded:-) I did set cars & peeps at maximum, but apparently they prefer to stay indoors !

I am a big fan of night lighting, the variety and inclusion of such in this work is fantastic!

Night pictures, night pictures... P. R. Crastina being a night bird, there should be more of them coming:-) [In fact, as I had always played on a Mac, I somehow couldn't use the nitelite patch. When I finally partitioned my trusty mac and began Win-simming, the first thing I added was the patch. Rather recently, too. I kinda went overboard. I did a whole region with big cities just to get my fix of it !] Here are some more day and night picture of the city of Gardine. [NB : You must have noticed the pesky text in the bottom right corner, especially in the nite picts. It won't show up in my next cities -- I upgraded my windows...:-)]

Beautiful work!

Hi, you could possibly give me the name and or link to the slightly "c" shaped pencil tower in the 11th pic of this update, in that pic there is a cluster of the BAT in question in the lower left area of the pic.

Thanks.

Best,

H.

That's NDEX Caroline Park Condos, a Grow & Plop residential $$. But be warned, the nite lite is oversaturated.

I must say posting pictures here is way simpler than it was on simpeg. But.:-)
