TMW - SSV Normandy | "Veteran Warship"

Huston

Overview ~

The SSV Normandy. An advanced Alliance frigate co-developed with the turians, it is one of the most advanced and top-of-the-line warships in the Systems Alliance fleets, and is one of the most heavily experienced warships on the galactic stage. With a formidable unditerred crew, some of the most advanced pieces of technology and eezo drive core installations and unmatched experience, the Normandy is more than just a ship.

Thanks, it'd be great if you can :)

KonstantinII

No, they're SFBT's on the STEX.

RepublicMaster

Thanks. And lol, :P

Schulmanator

It indeed is! :O

Alex_1210

Lol, Thanks :D

Hazani Pratama

Thanks, but they're not mine. Like I said, they're SFBT's microwave power dishes :P

Note: I decided to create a focus update on the greatest warship and one of the icons of the Mass Effect: The Milky Way CJ. The SSV Normandy. Here a several images that depict moments of the Normandy in action. Or in paralysis. Some New. Some old.

The SSV Normandy is the most advanced frigate and warship of the Human Systems Alliance, fitted with state-of-the-art stealth systems, a powerful high-end eezo drive core and other components that make the SSV Normandy top most, if not all Alliance warships.

Co-operatively developed by the turian and human navies, it boasts innovations and advancements from both races, while retaining a largely unique human construction that make it identifiable as a human warship. Command of the SSV Normandy SR1 at completion was then later delegated to decorated Alliance Admiral David Anderson, who then in 2183 later relinquished command of his ship to the Alliance Command, John Shepard following induction into the Council's Special Tactics and Reconnaissance.

The Normandy SR1 played a notable part in the war against geth intending on launching offensive operations along human borders, while also eliminating the threat posed by rogue Council Spectre, Saren Arterius, while leading the destruction of the Reaper flagship dubbed 'Sovereign'. After the attack on the Citadel, it was largely left to patrol space indicating alleged geth presences, and carry out a 'clean-up' operation to eliminate any remaining geth forces until it was destroyed later in the same year 2183.

It was then reconstructed by a rogue Alliance Black-ops faction who dubbed themselves Cerberus, with alleged stolen Alliance development blue-prints, with added modifications and a grander scale than the SR1. Dubbed the Normandy SR2, under the command of Commander John Shepard and the watchful eyes of Miranda Lawson and Jacob Taylor, it lead an offensive against the Collectors, that initiated abductions targeting isolated human Terminus colonies.

By 2186-87, the Normandy then became a prominent icon in galactic politics, media, militaries, with its crew involving themselves in various endeavors to garner unity amongst the militaries and navies of willing races during the Reaper war, while also leading offensives and evacuation operations across galactic clusters.

Feros

Feros is an undesirable garden world in the Phoenix system of the Argos Rho Cluster, with two-thirds of its landmasses covered by a contiguous ruined Prothean city. In the 2180s, the human supra-galactic corporation 'Exo-Geni' founded a pilot colony on the planet's crumbling megalopolis to investigate the ruins of the planet in depth. Unfortunately, in 2183, geth attacks affected the colony heavily, with a loss and exodus of over 700 people from Zhu's Hope and Exo-Geni building.

feros1.jpg

The Normandy SR1 makes an approach for the colony of Zhu's Hope to aid in repelling the invading geth forces.

noveria.png

Noveria

Noveria is a bitter cold second-tier garden world located in the Pax System of the Horsehead Nebula cluster. Noveria is largely known for its relaxed regulations on experiments, research and commercial development of products which would otherwise be illegal in Council Space. Dozens of galactic corporations lease labs and facilities on Noveria to escape political bureaucracy and strict Council regulations, as Noveria itself is not a world considered within Council Space.

noveria1.jpg

The Normandy SR1 docks at Noveria's capital, Port Hanshan, to investigate recent sightings of an Asari Matriach allegedly affiliated with geth.

tuntau.png

Tuntau

Tuntau is an interesting world, given that the surface of the world, while retaining a largely toxic atmosphere, is home to a relatively mild and temperate climate, averaging at 21 degrees Celcius on the planet's surface. This rather pleasant climate makes Tuntau a popular landing site for drive-core discharging when travelling within the Argos Rho cluster.

The Normandy SR1 making a low-surface approach to allow for the deloyment of the M35 Mako.

omega.png

Omega Station

Omega Station, or simply 'Omega' is a rundown eezo mining station, where the prevelance of rampant crimes such as sapient slave trading, eezo trafficking, black market trading, homicide and civil conflict lay waste to the damaged space station. Home to over seven million, it has no officially recognized government or leader, but the rise of a prominent Asari figure that heads a large faction of Omega is largely acknowleged as Omega's 'ruler' by its citizens, gangs and merc organizations.

omega1.jpg

omega2.jpg

The Normand SR2, a Cerberus developed frigate, and improved replication of the Alliance's SR1, makes an approach for the station's Gozu District docks.

collectorbase.png

Collector Base

There is minimal intel and information regarding the Collector Base. The only information officially known about the Collector Base is that it is the center of operations of the illusive Collector species, located approximately in the galactic core, likely within proximity to a black hole. Access to the base is restricted to Collector ships that transit through the Omega-4 Relay. The use of an IFF identification system in the Relay allow safe passage for specific ships, while threatening the transit of non-Collector identified vessels.

The Normandy SR2 damaged after the momentary loss of the Normandy's vital propulsion systems. Crash landing damages several more systems, but repair is found possible.

earth.png

Earth

The human homeworld is located in the Sol System of the Local Cluster, and is home to approximately 11.4 billion inhabitants. The environmentally damaged planet is world greening by the effects of human advancement in sciences and technology. Still divided among nation states, all are under the overarching banner of the Systems Alliance, the political face of humanity on the galactic stage.

However in 2186, the once thought mythological Reapers invade Earth, overwhelming the Alliance military's fleets and forces, allowing Reapers to devastate industrial and population centers all over the planet within a matter of hours.

The Normandy SR2, flying Alliance colors after being annexed from Cerberus in 2185, flies through the chaos and havoc of downtown Vancouver to rendezvous with Admiral Anderson along the city's northern harbor.

mars.png

Mars

Mars, the first human colony after establishing bases on Luna (The Moon), attracted a fair amount of immigration to the planet when organizations established their first official civilian permitted cities. Immigration flowed until researchers on the planet unearthed what were later identified as Prothean ruins. Mars was the key to human advancement in spaceflight which allowed from further expansion beyond Sol and the discovery the Mass Relay network. The impact of the discoveries left Mars as a backwater colony, losing its credability as an option for terraforming. However, the search for Prothean ruins continues, restricting immigration flow to Mars.

The Normandy SR2, extracting the traumatized ground team at the Martian Archives facility, immediately pulling back as Reapers settle in the system.

menae.png

Menae

Menae is Palaven's largest moon, and was highly classified by the turian hierarchy after their establishement of a base on the moon. Little information about Menae is leaked to the public, though according to satellite imagery and snapshots of Menae's surface from nearby passing vessels, exposed turians walking on the surface without pressure suits indicate the presence of environmental shielding on the surface.

Upon Reaper attack, the turian forces based on Menae intended to flank inbound Reapers approaching Palaven, but with the sheer size and strength of Reaper forces, their immunity to such a tactic has made their fight for Palaven a difficult struggle, and have since been greatly overwhelmed despite being the strongest military force in the known galaxy.

menae1.jpg

The Normandy's approach of Menae to allow safe deployment of the frigate's Kodiak shuttle bound for a turian garrison.

arvuna.png

Arvuna

Arvuna is a sizeable moon of Dranen, prominent for its garden world status and abundance in water. Despite the relatively harmful levels of radiation radiating from Dranen, well shielded human colonies exist on the planet, and being located in insignificant space, Arvuna is unlikely to encounter the threat of piracy.

Unfortunately, as the Reapers encroach on the territories in the Caleston Rift, the isolated status of Arvuna in insignificant space has compromised the safety of Arvuna's colonists and cut them off aid as the Mass Relay in Balor is affected by Reaper presence.

The Normandy aiding in the evacuation of colonists on Arvuna despite harsh torrential weather.

citadel.png

Citadel

The deep-space station known as the 'Citadel' is supposedly constructed by an extinct advanced spacefaring race identified by researchers as the Protheans. The station consists of 5 wards which have cities 40 kms in length carved onto the surface, while it is held together by the station's Presidium ring. The Citadel is serves as the capital of Council Space, with the Citadel Tower being the center of Council political assemblys.

Wow, that's truly amazing Kyle. It's great to re-look at old updates and see this ship again. By the way, did you custom BAT the Normandy as well? Seeing all your other fantastic BATs, I wouldn't be surprised haha :P
