Note: 2 BAT models. On the verge of deciding to release them on the STEX/LEX or not. Then again, they weren't ever going to be released until this update was featured here, since I wanted to use them exclusively first before release (assuming I do
But in any case. Read on. It's based on a mission from ME1.

Eletania. An idyllic garden world located in the Hercules 'gateway' system in the Attican Beta Cluster. Unfortunately, because of Eletania's microscopic animal kingdom, the planet's been rendered mostly uninhabitable by non-native species. But although the planet has not been colonized by any known race today, it doesn't mean that it hasn't been visited, nor been built on by any race at any given time period.
The last race to ever really have established any structural presence was the Protheans; leaving behind a marvel of a ruin that puzzles the general bystander and even the most highly educated and esteemed academics of the galaxy.
And when the Alliance Fifth fleet dispatches the Normandy to retrieve sensitive information stored in a module from a crashed probe in the Eletania system, they stumble along the ruins when it's presence is caught on their scanners.

After retrieving the module from a monkey-like animal colony in cave system; John, Kaidan and Liara make their way to investigate the strange objects under their scanners to see what else may have crash landed. But to their surprise...it wasn't a crashed probe. It was a Prothean ruin. Or what seemed to be a Prothean ruin.

They deboarded the Mako to investigate it further. And closer. Liara began to sift through data as she scanned the orb-like artifact to check for anomalies and an analysis of the mysterious object. Kaidan just stood there, too dumbfounded, with little to say about such a mysterious object, while John drew himself ever closer to the Prothean orb. He took out his trinket, given to him by Shaira, the asari consort on the Presidium.
He found a slot, similar to the oddly shaped trinket he had in his hand and decided to insert it into the hollow slot on the surface of the artifact.

The artifact then reacted. The orb began to gradually elevate from its previous position and towered over the three. John began to draw himself even closer the artifact to see what had happened, while Liara and Kaidan warned and tried to draw his attention away from the orb. Then...

...

A flash of bright white light blinds the three as it brightens the entire depression.
The three are stunned, as it grows brighter and brighter.
... ... ...

He wakes up. Surrounded by forest. The sky above him darkened. After rising from deep sleep, he gets up, drawn to a sound above him that shakes the midday air. Then he shifts his attention to a piercing pain in his back of his skull. As if a splint had somehow managed to penetrate into his brain. Then again, he looks back up to the sky, sighting a great, wingless bird. It appears to made of shining silver, looking back down at the surface of the Earth. He senses a presence. As if he were being watched and studied from elsewhere. That he was not alone.

Raising a hairy fist, he then shakes his spear overhead, in an attempt to draw the shiny, wingless, silver sky-beast away. It reacts, and begins to take an ever upward ascent into the infinite blue sky. With a satisfied grunt, he then treks back through the familiar paths of the forest, back to the cave of which his tribe resides.
He then falls to the familiar patterns of life -- the hunt for food, struggle to claim and keep a mate and the battles against other tribes in pursuit of his tribal territory. Days roll into nights, which roll back into days. Each time he sleeps, a lingering feeling that he is being watched is etched at the back of his mind. As if some 'other' is sharing his experience, his emotions and the every little thing he hears. The lingering feeling brings him to remember the great silver beast that flew above him in the sky.

It wasn't until winter fell, that the same flying silver bird came back down from the infinite sky. A bone-chilling shriek pierced the cold winter air and startled him as he hunted farther afoot, in search of food for himself and his hungry tribe.

As the great bird-beast settled over him, he looked towards the sky in fear. He saw a great eye open from the underbelly of the beast and an orb of red light shone above him. In a haste, he began a daring escape from the bird, ready to devour him.

But his attempt was futile. A finger of red light began to creep ever closer and slowly but steadily engulfed him. Everything fell
silent, and the darkness took over once more.
... ... ...

Shepard...Shepard...John!
John begins to wake, disoriented and confused. He realizes that he's back on Eletania, lying square beside the Prothean Orb in a ruin, placed in the depths of a depression in a rugged mountain range. Kaidan and Liara help him back to his feet, both with puzzled looks on their faces.
What happened?
There was a light and you sort of just, toppled over.
Are you alright, Shepard?
Still confused, he thinks back to what he had just seen. What seemed to be the memories of a Cro-Magnon human hunter, captured by an implanted Prothean data recorder. He wondered -- for how long had humans been spied on by the foremost Protheans Scientists of their time from their observation post on Mars. Had they learned anything from their observations of mankind?
He couldn't contemplate it. He probably was never going to get the answer. Instead, he shrugged it off.
I'm fine...just...forget about it.
