Middle Tenne: Where’s Waldo?

Welcome back to Elza, Middle Tenne’s gated community. There are actually 3 gates defending the city: Elza Gate, Dossett Gate and Tacora Gate. Elza, the largest gate, presides over the port. The port serves both military and commercial vessels. Tacora, the smallest gate, presides over the small private vessel port on the northwest side of town.

Today, there’s a big fuss in Elza. One of its most famous residents, Waldo Wilcox, the National Historian, has gotten lost somewhere in town. Can we find him? Let’s try.

He sorta looks like this, but was last seen wearing a bowtie.

ELZA-residence7.jpg

He was seen leaving his residence at approximately 7:30 yesterday morning…

ELZA-residence2.jpg

Neighbors say they saw him walking around the park, something he often did in the morning. But, no one saw him come home from work.

ELZA-Business4.jpg

He showed up to his office at about 8 AM…

But he left soon thereafter, saying he was going to go pounce on some stuff and sun himself on a rock by the shore. But, he did not come back to work.

They looked all over for him, but he was nowhere to be found. And this was unusual, as he had a big presentation he was completing.

So, where’s Waldo?

ELZA-business9.jpg

When it became apparent he was not returning to the office, his staff became concerned. His colleagues split up to look for him.

His secretary, Miss Trixie A. Ward, walked the surrounding streets, asking everyone she met “Where’s Waldo?” But, no one found him…

ELZA-residence5.jpg

His intern, Mack Trucke, searched down streets on the other end of town. He asked everyone he met “Where’s Waldo?” But, no one found him…

ELZA-residence6.jpg

Professor Gilligan Eiland was out and about, asking everyone he met “Where’s Waldo?” But, no one found him…

ELZA-JacksonSquare.jpg

Hurriedly, Waldo’s colleagues went to Jackson Square, in the heart of town. This is the place everyone goes when looking for something cool to do. Perhaps he came here? They set about asking everyone they met “Where’s Waldo?” But, no one found him…

ELZA-GovernmentHouse2.jpg

They went to the Government House to report him missing

ELZA-MilitaryCommand2.jpg

And to the Military Command Post, so that a search could be initiated

ELZA-Gate6.jpg

Trixie overheard someone talking about a strange incident over at the port this afternoon. A somewhat suspicious story… about a somewhat suspicious passenger buying a ticket. Could this be the lead they were hoping for? Can they find Waldo?

Meanwhile, on board a Tenne River Transit vessel bound for Knoxvegas and points east,…

Boy, I hope that's not a three hour tour he took. Yes, I'm stuck in the past, I DO want to become a history professor, after all.

Missing historian Waldo Wilcox has been found. An extensive manhunt across the nation found the man, age 87, with a briefcase full of sensitive documents. He was headed toward enemy positions in mid Devonshire. Wilcox was found unconscious and was taken to Lake George Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Police spokescat Roscoe P. Coltrane says a preliminary search of Mr. Wilcox and the items found with him indicate he was not treasonous; rather, he was under the influence of mind-altering “Oil of Onimay” from Queensferry. Ace reporter Bo “Scoop” Orebro asked Coltrane how they reached such a conclusion so quickly. Coltrane indicated that a partially consumed multipack of “granola” bars points to chemical coercion rather than betraying the Supreme Wirdle. When Mr. Wilcox regains consciousness, he will be interrogated thoroughly. Meanwhile, police are issuing an alert for anyone to search their kitchens and remove any “granola” bars or other food products with quotation marks in their name.
