I am currently unsure about Gansbaai and The wild west right now. I am getting... bored with them. Honestly I don't know what to do. Work just is now excruciatingly slow. I plop 3 trees and then I get sick of it. I'm currently asking myself, what should I do? I'm thinking of maybe writing a story of some sorts. If anyone has any ideas, I am totally open.

For now I shall be taking a bit of a break. For me a break could just be a few weeks (I usually play SC4 everyday) but again, I am unsure. I'm just not able to find anything really exiting at the moment. Maybe writing a story can trigger my imagination.

Let me clearly state. This is not dead. I'm just taking some time off to brainstorm ideas.  2.gif

As Reikhardt said, you could give yourself a break, but please; keep with the Wild West CJ. There have been some other CJs themed like this, but IMO, this one is the best Western CJ ever. Maybe you could recreate the stories of famous movies with it, for example.

Sometimes, when it comes to SC4 boresome, it's good (it's been for me) to be busy with another different thing. Read a book, watch movies or series, or simply play another game. You'll see how you go back to SC4 as it was brand new...

Yes, as TekindusT said, it's good to do something else. I took a break from SC4 last year and  It was a pretty long break...about 4-5 months. I played other games or did something else.

When I came back, I was eager to continue doing my work with the region I left behind. But I didn't really like it...I was bored, like you. So I decided to start a whole new region and different BATs. Maybe you should consider changing your region(s), BATs, etc? You could try making european cities( no...they're too popular), asian cities (it could be south eastern or eastern), socialist cities (maybe in the far north?), latin cities (think of Cuba, a socialist state in the caribean.) and last but not least american cities, which IMO are the easiest to recreate.

Incorporate these ideas if you like into your future story and voila!

I recently took a 1 month break from SC4. I got a little bored of my CJ as well. I just started playing about a week ago and now I feel refreshed and interested in the game again. Maybe you should try that like others have said. :)

Well, you could do what I do, make different regions for different plugins.  I made Asian, Med, European, Soviet, etc.  You have to know that no city in the world is perfect, there's going to be grime or crap all over the place.  Try not making clean cities and make dirty cities instead, that could give you a break.  Then again, that's your choice.

If you want, you could go futuristic by using Simmars (or not) and just lot them according to your desire.  I even made a leasure plugins folder because I hate plopping everything or stuff like that just for CJs.  If that doesn't please you, you could start BATing and from there you can make more buildings for your CJs (and hopefully release them ).  Hell, I even BAT for Simmars and its a good way to escape city building.

Yea what I am going to do is take a break. If you havn't noticed, I've done many different styles of cities.  The wild west, actually, I have grown to like quite a bit. Maybe the problem is the time period? Limiting what I can build. BATing for me is just... meh. I know I could do great with it if I put forth my best effort, but that is a problem since I do not enjoy it.

I got tired of playing the game myself.....I just don't see much point to it.

I went and pursued BATting, but that is probably not much interest to you.

Well, I have not really taken much of a hiatus. I'm enjoying SC4 again. Taking my time though. Not rushing to through out updates, as well as writing a story. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I think you all will love it too. The Gansbaai Kingdoms though... I think are done. I have become bored of it. Gansbaai had a really great run, but I think it is time to be over. Possibly the Wild West too, which was just a thing to do aside from Gansbaai. Although I'm unsure. Should I keep it in this CJ? To... keep the memory alive, to say?

Thanks for all of your support. I know you love this stuff. I will try to keep it up.

Maybe you could turn this CJ into a massive CJ for all your work? And keep it all here, as you move through Gansbaai, to the Wild West and into the future. The many differing styles of marsh.
