City of New Marseilles (Sports and Entertainment District) 01

The Sports and Entertainment District is a neighborhood located in New Marseilles 1st ward along the eastern/north bank of the Eloise River. The district serves as the main sporting and events section of the city. The First Rate Bank Arena, home to the New Marseilles Mussels basketball team and The Marveldome, home to the New Marseilles Cadman football team which plays regular season games at their arenas/stadiums. Also in the district is the New Marseilles Convention Center, Embassy Suites and Marriott hotels, Nautical Park, the Eloise Waterfront Mall, the Lafayette Industrial museum, along with some industrial businesses. All of which are located within the 39 acres district. It is accessible by Highway 518 and Columbia Avenue which runs through the center of the district.
