Hi everyone! Welcome to page 4, already! 39.gif

Sorry for the lack of updates, this is not due because I'm very busy right now but mostly because I'm very lazy 18.gif.

Anyway, I think I'll stay with 800*600 pictures, but I'll try to take smaller pictures sometime.

I haven't played a lot SC4 in the last week so I didn't do a lot of work in Raccoon City. However, there are still 2 areas I haven't shown yet here that were completed a couple of weeks ago, I don't know when I'll do an update on those areas, but this shouldn't be too far away.

9.1- This is the area I'm working on, this is the same area of picture 6.4 .
    010http://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/010.jpg align=baseline>

9.2- More middle-wealth Sims moved in, replacing the low-wealth aparments. Compare the area with the previous pictures 4.14.4 and 4.5 .
    010bhttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/010b.jpg align=baseline>

9.3- One of the only thing I've done this week is to add trees everywhere. Look how good look the basketball courts and notice I've filled the gap under the elevated rail line with trees.
    010chttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/010c.jpg align=baseline>

9.4- Look how nice look the cementery with all the trees :
    010dhttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/010d.jpg align=baseline>

9.5- ... but wait! What the hell are those things?:
    010ehttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/010e.jpg align=baseline>

This is strange. it looks like zo... nah! This must be because of the bad quality of the picture, these kinds of things might exist somewhere, but at least not in Raccoon City for sure!

Does your ground rail to el rail transit system work? All my trains just disappear when they hit the ground-el transition point.

    Update time!

Bluefrog : lol, thanks for the comment. Well, I think the CJ forums have 2 main purposes : showing people your creations and sharing ideas.

Also, my el-rails/ground rails transition works at 50%. The el-trains disappear when they reach it but ground trains go on the elevated tracks. However, I don't if it's caused by the transition, but the ground passenger trains are all 3 wagons wide and they are all distorted. I don't really know how to explain it so I'll take a screenshot of this later to show what I'm talking about.

Death Reaper : Thanks a lot. Aren't those green elevated the default ones? I'm asking because it's the first time I have an el network so when I saw those green trains I just assumed they were the default ones. But maybe I have a mod somewhere -maybe the NAM- that changes it without my knowledge.

Does anybody have an answer to this?

Maranello575 : Nice to see you again 48.gif . I use the Tar Sealed Country streets mod. It's like the dirt street mod but in much better, because it fits as good in farming areas than in residential areas IMO.

gundamdude and DragonAnime, thanks for your comments!

Today I'm presenting you an area that was completed a while ago but that I never took the time to show before. Because almost all my low-wealth housings were slowly disapearing, being replaced by medium wealth ones, I kept an area dedicated to what we call here HLM, which stands for Habitations

    Thank you everyone.

11.1- Like it was shown in the very first update, the region I took is huge. But, for the moment, only one tile is used in the whole region. So, in order to reduce loading times, I have created a new region consisting of only Raccoon City that I have imported a copie in the region. Now, when I open the game, it almost instantly loads the region.
    013http://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/013.jpg align=baseline>

11.2- The other day I was bored so I went crazy and did a lot of useless things with raods. However, it was a big fun UDI'ing those things!
    013bhttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/013b.jpg align=baseline>

11.3- In my madness, I discover this : (probably some kind of NAM issue)
    013chttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/013c.jpg align=baseline>

11.4- However, this bug doesn't have any possible usage because traffic can't drive on the avenue. Buildings weren't developping along the bugged stretch of avenue.
    013dhttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/013d.jpg align=baseline>

11.5- Talking about bugs, even if my computer specs suck, SC4 is very stable on my computer and very rarely crash. However, it sometimes acts very strangely. I took this screenshot maybe one month ago, I have no idea what happened. I opened a new city and this is how it turned out. I exited to region and everything went normal.
    013ehttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/013e.jpg align=baseline>

I'm working on a real update, I think I'll have enough time later tonight to post it.

Well, dude, I guess you've already prepared a fund as compensation for the petrol fee to the people living in the curve road's neighborhood.17.gif17.gif

How many years have this Raccoon City undergone?

18.gif Lol, don't worry Maranello, my biggest thread right now are more the upcoming exams and works at school than zombies 14.gif. Even if the updates were slow in the last 2 weeks, I've done a lot of work on Raccoon City (well, a lot of people would consider I haven't done a lot but considering my very slow construction speed, it's a lot actually) but I only had enough time to play the city a couple of hours by week, so I really had no time to take pictures and write an update here.

However, I'll have more free time this weekend and next Monday there is no school because there is a strike (a teacher strike, just when the student stikes were finished...). So I promise there will be at least one update but I should be able to do more than one, I hope.

Also, thanks for your faithful interest to the CJ, it's always welcomed.

movcn, Raccoon City is now 149 years old and because I do 2,000

Brilliant CJ, I like your usage of PEG's Alley's as streets in a previous update.

As to which bridge layout, I would go with No2 as it does look more natural - although give it another tile of flat road between the bridge and the ramp - it looks weird the bridge just starting straight off a ramp like that (IMO anyway!)

Thank you nirgal! I'll wait that more people post before taking a decision.

The first official census was held by the municipal authorities of Raccoon City and the population is now well over 60,000! Here are the detailled stats (all the values were rounded for an easier presentation) :

    Here is the real update.

12.4- We'll visit today an area designed for those high-wealth Sims that is located just beside the HLM of update 10 . This area is just at the right side of picture 10.1 .
    016http://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/016.jpg align=baseline>

    12.5-
    <ahttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/016b.jpg align=baseline>

    12.6-
    <ahttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/016c.jpg align=baseline>

12.7- I spent a lot of time on this area and it took some time to get the right buildings to grow there so it desserves some close-ups
    016dhttp://membres.lycos.fr/ragegrandtheftauto3/images/sc4/raccooncity/016d.jpg align=baseline>

12.8- Here is a little something special. I was not planning to do this at the first place but because I took by accident two screenshots of the same exact place at a different time, I had the idea of doing this, and it looks really cool. However, the size of the picture didn't allow me to post it directly here, so click on the thumbnail to see it for real. If you have dial-up, it'll be worth the time to see it, I guarantee!

That's all. All this area has been shown now. Next updates will be on a completly different area.

I'm still waiting for your opinions about which bridge layout you prefer !

18.gif It was the first time ever I did an animated gif. I've just downloaded a random gif maker program from downloads.com and threw the 2 pictures together.

I'm planning to make other animated gifs showing the development of the city from the region view. I'm sure it'll look cool.

Also, ExiL3, Jetty Jockey and dhoppeii, thanks a lot for your comments, they are always greatly appreciated. 48.gif

Still a reminder, I need your opinions about which bridge layout  I should pick!
