I redownloaded it, but it says that its avaliable as a seperate download? Its a bit confusing... might wanna think about that. Anyway, um, yah... Toroshima is coming along amazingly, I forgot to take a picture. Its an older city of mine, so its getting a lot of upgrades. Road flatening, utility updating, services moving, and downtown relocation. The problem is you have this GIANT mountain in the middle of this medium map. Industry on one side, residential and commercial on the other. And then oposite the industry and over the main city sector is a river, and on the other side of that is the new area of the city, and an old part that needed a lot of work. So the challenge is making a working city, which is horibly chopped up, outdated, and messy. Solution, take one sector at a time, and almost litereally rip everything down and rebuild it as close you can to how it used to be.

Wow, Storms991...

Great use of Gascooker's stuff. That's the most realistic-looking UK city I've seen. If you haven't done so already, you ought to PM him with a link to these pics - I'm sure he'd love to see what you've done with his work.

Did you get all these to grow together by taking everything else out of your plugins? Or did you just do a lot of bulldozing until you got the ones you wanted?

I used the Tileset Mod, and yes, the houses are the only growables for residential. There's maybe 15 kinds of houses that grow, so just that one pack is perfect.

Okay, so I mentioned it a few times, and now I fainally got around to taking some pictures.

Toroshima-Dec.jpg

Toroshima, a small city against its neighboring city, Salon Valey (populatoin 200,000). It started out as a very small fishing village, but what whiped off the map when the volcano exploded, filling in a great deal of the fishing lake as well. It soon after settled down and was re-founded about 50 years prior to the creation of Salon Valley, which connected it to the rest of the region. Since then it has subcome to many disasters, including the re-opening of the volcano that whiped out the small rurual housing area behind the mountain.

Toroshima-Dec3.jpg

Its powwered solely by this dam, which was recently rebuilt, and wind power. The city is self sufficent, a gem that survived from its days as a lone city.

Toroshima-Dec4.jpg

Not too far away is the old city center, which is now being uplifted by a sudden boom in population thanks to Salon Valleys lack of space. This sunken mall used to cover much more land, but what bought out by the city to continue the local avenue and add a fountain. The city center has since then moved accross the river.

Toroshima-Jun.jpg

Just behind that picture is Blue Heights. In the old days it was a fishing warf, but was then converted to clean industry. About 30 years ago it was bought by the town and relocated the industry to the far side of the mountain. It was then developed into a small, lucious community of mid-rise high wealth buildings.

Toroshima-Dec2.jpg

Here is everything there is to Toroshima. The large forest used to be rural housing. You can see the dam, the old city center, blue heights, and a historic part of the old warf to the right. In the foreground is the new industrial area, servering both Toroshima and Salon Valley. In this picture you can see how hard it is to build here. Rivers, lakes, mountains, and forests. The new city center took 12 years to build, leveling out for the trolley lines, bike path, and new avneu. You can sorta see it with the blue building and the big green one. THeres a big open space where the trolley, avenue, and bike paths are. To the right you'll notice some contrucion going on. This is an attempt to stop a current decline the city is in. A new rail line has been built through the woods to allow for further expansion and eventually re-habitation of the area lost by the eruption. Last thing, the very tall bulding near the center is headquarters to SV&T Enterprises, a company that makes everything, controls it all, yet never does a single thing. I hope you enjoyed this... took a while.

Man... I need to start a CJ...

Hmm, personally I don't like all these mods and bat things just yet. I'm slowly starting to use new buildings, but for now... I think the buildings ingame are fantastic. I love using the original simcity to make my places, and I've made a few cities that would look good as a screenshot of the main site, hehe. nicearea.JPG I've only used the water mod thing--I did find the original water way too bright.

I got 2 semi-rural pics:

1. I was havin' fun w/ PEG's stuff

dda0438fda.jpg

2. Jeronij's parks and Shadow_Assassin's bike trails are displayed:

6cd9023919.jpg

Yes, these are both from the same town. They're on different sides of my sunken highway, and the city right now is shaped kinda like the Superman symbol (look at the zone data):

60e1f1e3ad.jpg

How do you post pics on here w/out the url coming before and after each pic (a way that doesn't require you to go back and edit your post)? I'm using ImageShack if that helps.
